Not impressed today
Not impressed today. Strawberries marked as half price went through till at full price. Pointed this out to Aldi staff member who politely discounted them. He advised we had to ask for the discount at the till. Good thing we checked!
No stars really
AVOID! purchasing any deconstructed electricals.
Bought a grass strimmer £54.97 which stopped working and for which Aldi agreed a "full refund" which turned out to be £24.99 (minus cost of battery & charger).
Such honesty!
Food is often close to sell by dates
Food is often close to sell by dates, poor quality, and packages broken on the shelves. Staff can be rude and unhelpful. Hard enough to just find the 'complaints' page on their website and the responses are poor. I shop elsewhere now.
Zero stars review a recepit is mandorty at Thornbury Bradford store.

My recepit I had to ask for it again. I will be having my recepit. I paid with a card.
She didn't ask me she just turned away from myself.
Especially as another customer was going to let myself in front of him
There was a female shop assistant in there that I thought had left that's not nice at all through out Coronavirus and after she has been a nasty person.
I went in to look at the special buys as there is garden stuff in.
Good prices
Good prices, good quality products. Always nice helpful staff.

The 6 pack of water is too heavy to carry. Bring back single bottles of water especially in Gravesend and Maidstone and Rochester. They are easy to carry and the water was cheaper.
Total Absence of Any Customer Service
It was a busy Saturday afternoon, just after 1 pm when my wife & I went into the store in the centre of Dunstable. After shopping we went to pay and every single till was empty and the lanes locked off with barriers. We asked a member of staff standing there could they open a till and we were toll to use self scanning. Many people do not like or want self scanning. We handed her our shopping and told her to put it all back. It is not the first time we have had similar issues with this store. Could their service get any worse? Aldi really is the Ryanair of food shopping.
Worst customer service supermarket in UK
Aldi managed to turn a broken tooth - caused by one of their substandard “premium” gristle‑stuffed burgers into the most farcical, brain‑melting display of incompetence I’ve ever encountered. Their social media response first offer? £5!!!! Yes you read that correctly FIVE WHOLE POUNDS! Joke. Against my better judgment I allowed it to be escalated to their “experts” in the escalation team! As useless as a chocolate teapot in an heatwave and an embarrassment to the term customer service.
I provided everything they requested: dentist written report, 10 year dental history, photos of the burger (it was all kept along with the broken tooth and gristle - and proudly sits in the freezer still!) As well as pics of the actual broken tooth. Their “investigation” and I use that word generously was about as effective as asking a blindfolded toddler to conduct a forensic analysis. They even concluded the labelled photo of my broken tooth bits as porcelain!! Utter incompetence.
Weeks of evidence, pain, and back‑and‑forth, and their final insult was a £30 voucher - not even enough to cover the dentist letter & records they demanded. 45 years of loyalty flushed away by a company so catastrophically inept it borders on satire.
I’ll now be pursuing legal action purely on principle. It’ll cost them more than their pathetic £30, and frankly, that’s the only satisfaction left.
They suggested Retail ADR to “mitigate,” but given its reputation for supermarket‑friendly outcomes, I won’t be wasting my time. I’m not here to give them another biased avenue to wriggle out of responsibility. I’ll be going directly down the legal route, where it will cost them more than their pathetic £30 - and frankly, that’s the only satisfaction left
Avoid Aldi. Their food is dangerous, their customer service is a joke, and their complaint handling is a masterpiece of stupidity.
Aldi you are a disgrace and should be ashamed of yourself
Waste - Fruit & Veg only sold by the bag.
The prices are good and quality are mostly good as well. But I am a pensioner and live alone, I do not want to buy a bag of carrots, a bag of parsnips, a bag of apples, a bag of pears, .........
I cannot use all this fruit and veg while it is still fresh. I do not want to be batch cooking, freezing and then cooking it again, my freezer is not big anough and I want to eat my veg Fresh. Buying these amounts negates any savings. We are all being told not to waste food and buy just what we need. Aldi is not helping. If Lidl customers can buy just the amount they need why can Aldi customers do so? Looks like I will have to change to Lidl.

Questioned at checkout
I object to being rudely cross questioned about whether I had been able to buy everything I wanted. Assistant (Manager I guess) claimed free range chicken no longer stocked; website makes it clear it is. Lincoln Tritton Road

It is minus a star - product not fit for purpose and customer services useless
It is minus a star! Several days of my time wasted…product purchased, it does not work, have tried so Blooming hard to get this resolved.
Appalling customer service, I don’t have a receipt and paid cash. Did not pick up a receipt as on self serve, appreciate that that is my error. However, advised by customer service that if I recall the day, the store could raise a receipt for me. So supplied date and approximate time to customer services, who then changed tack saying I would have to go to the store to request receipt and it would be the stores discretion. For about the tenth time, I had explained that the Northampton store was not local to me , would they kindly contact the store for me as there was not a telephone number for the store. The customer service advisor told me they did not have a phone number for the store and had no way of contacting them, It’s appalling, we are with in our 60 days.
No one willing to address the product has never worked.
No one willing to give me the telephone number of the store in Northampton.
It’s not fit for purpose, you keep burying your head.
I am so dissatisfied that no one will own this problem. It was not a cheap purchase at £79.99. Aldi if you are reading this get in touch!!
Very poor complaint handling
Very poor complaint handling, lack of care, and serious unresolved concerns.
I raised a serious complaint with ALDI relating to the Walton-on-Thames store. The complaint was not about one single issue — it involved a number of concerns about customer treatment, complaint handling, possible confidentiality issues, repeated bag checks, internal staff communication, and letters later received by multiple members of my family claiming to ban us from ALDI premises.
The original complaint included concerns about staff conduct at the Walton-on-Thames store and whether customers who had raised concerns were then being treated differently. One member of my family was repeatedly subjected to bag checks, with nothing found, which left us feeling singled out, embarrassed and uncomfortable.
We also raised concerns about staff behaviour in store, including what appeared to be internal communication about our presence while we were shopping. This made us feel watched and unwelcome.
The situation became more serious when multiple members of my family received letters through the post claiming to ban us from ALDI Walton-on-Thames and all other ALDI premises. These letters used ALDI’s name and store address, but gave no clear reason, no named manager, no appeal route and no proper contact details.
We contacted ALDI and were verbally told the letters were not genuine / not authorised. However, we have still not received proper written confirmation, a clear explanation, or reassurance about whether any ban exists. We have also not received an explanation of how our names and home addresses were used.
This has caused significant distress and worry, especially because personal home addresses were used and we do not understand how this happened.
ALDI Customer Services advised us to report the matter to the police. However, when we followed this advice, ALDI then stated that because it was now a police matter, they would not look to investigate further at this time and would only liaise with police if contacted.
In my opinion, this is not acceptable. The complaint still needs to be handled by ALDI, especially where it involves customer treatment, complaint handling, possible use of personal information, and whether documents claiming to be from ALDI are genuine or not.
At the time of writing, we have not received a proper apology, compassion, reassurance, or a full written response to the issues raised.
I am very disappointed with ALDI’s handling of this matter. I expected a company of ALDI’s size to take this seriously, provide a clear explanation, confirm the position in writing, investigate properly, and show concern for the distress caused.
I'm awaiting a response from Aldi…
I'm awaiting a response from Aldi regarding a complaint l made on 21st August 2026. I tried to purchase a John Lewis gift card with my shopping. The cashier asked me how much to put on. I confirmed the amount, but just received a normal till receipt. When I asked whether the gift card had been validated the cashier didn't know, but then inadvertently cancelled it. Nearly two weeks later I have not received the refund (£50).
No tills open
Terrible service, no tills open waiting 5 mins , had too leave my shopping and go too Lidl
Not happy at went to aldi Scunthorpe…
Not happy at went to aldi Scunthorpe this evening 9 pm got to the till area none were open told the wife to start unpacking went to find an assistant to which was to not opening one use self check out not happy at all had full trolley could of understood in the store was about to close but still an hour left
my local aldi has stopped supplying shelled nuts
I went into my local aldi in AMESBURY WILTSHIRE, they had NO pecan nuts NO brazils NO walnuts or any other unsalted shelled nuts..
I asked a member of staff if the nuts i usually buy have been moved, he said " if there not there we haven't got any" i said you usually have loads of every type, in fact I've been buying them there for 10 years and they have always had every type..his next comment i think was also BS he said " well head office decides what we get and they must have decided to stop supplying them" ..
he was obviously a plonker and rather than say " im a plonker who doesn't take a interest in my job " he came out with that ..
im wondering what the real reason is but unfortunately the staff at Amesbury mainly walk around avoiding customers and there enquiries..im still a fan of aldi but I will either have to try lidals or another branch to find out what's going on..
