My initial experience with car rental…

My initial experience with car rental was exceptionally positive. The professional service I received was outstanding. The company provided convenient pick-up and drop-off services, and their staff exemplified excellent customer service. In an era where exceptional customer service is often lacking, Enterprise consistently delivers. I highly recommend their services.

My wife and I rented a van at Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Miami on Saturday evening July 11th, 2026. It was a one-way trip from Miami to Bentonville, Ar. We arrived approx.8:30 pm to pick up the van. We then left to get on the turnpike North. Shortly after entering the turnpike, we had a flat that went down very quickly. Looked and found no spare tire. Called roadside assistance because we had the insurance from Enterprise. On a reportedly recorded call they said they wouldn't come on the turnpike. They weren't allowed and for us to call 911. We did and got sheriff's call center. They informed us that Enterprise could come on the turnpike. To call them back. We did and got the same response. We did this a couple of times and called sheriff's office again. They were surprised they wouldn't come. Contacted a road ranger for the turnpike to come out to help. He arrived and said he couldn't do anything because Enterprise doesn't put spare tires in the newer vehicles like this. We were stranded after midnight at this point. Called 911 (sheriff) again for help. It was after midnight at this point. The deputy called Enterprise with us on a 3-way call. After expressing disbelief they wouldn't come, the deputy asked what prevented them from coming. That there was no law. They then responded it was a business policy. At that point the deputy found us a tow truck that would come tow us to the Travel Center between the turnpike roads. $288 later we were stuck in a Travel Center parking lot with a flat with a large hole in it. At 3 am we ate Travel Center chips and snacks for dinner. We then took baths in the bathrooms with a washrag in the sinks. Tried to sleep but couldn't. Called numerous mobile tire repair businesses with only one calling back and coming to put on a new tire at 10 am Sunday. $350 later we resumed our trip. Arrived a day late to Bentonville and returned the car at the airport. The gentlemen that checked the car back in listened to us and was very apologetic. Said he had a similar experience with his own company out in Utah. He credited $613 towards our rental for the experience. We then phoned the call center with them apologizing and assured us someone would return our call that day. Nothing. We called a few more times with the same assurance. Called corporate with that same assurance. Nothing again. I filed a complaint with BBB in late July and got a call from a person from the Miami office where we rented the car. He stated he just got back from vacation. After listening to my complaint and insisting on a response as to why they left us out there without even checking on us all night and until this day, he said He would pass it up the chain. End of August a different person from that office called me stating they finally called me because they just got the initial report to give me a call from the call center. Not the BBB Complaint. He then stated they didn't know roadside assistance wouldn't go on the turnpike. I found this hard to believe. Being surprised at his responses, I asked to speak to his supervisor or even a corporate employee to explain why this all happened. He said that "she" at corporate wouldn't call me. After a while he gave me a name and number of a supervisor and said it would be better if he called me back that afternoon or the following Monday. That it was hard to get him. Still nothing. It is now Wednesday and I've called and left him a couple messages with no response. Up until this moment I haven't received an acceptable response as to why they left us out there, experiencing one of the worst things in our lives. To make it worse, my wife was the only one on the calls with them and they didn't know I was there. We are in our early 60's and can't possibly accept customer service has fallen this far. They claim to record the calls, but when I told them to listen to verify this horrific treatment, they said they didn't have them. I will continue to post wherever I can about this company and will speak with whomever will listen to my story. Unbelievable but true. Beware! Billy T.

Enterprise Rent a Car Cardiff West

I am delighted with the service from Enterprise Rent a Car and the staff. Especially Luke in the Cardiff West branch. My hire van was through Enterprise Car Club, a more automated way to hire a car or van. I am not a fan off using apps Luke helped me access the app, work through the questions and access the van. Luke was also there when I returned the van. He remembered me and again worked through returning the van. I was struggling with time so he even gave me a lift to the station. I would never have expected that. Enterprise rent a car I am very happy with. But Car Club not sure. I like the personal experience.

I suggest that anyone I know should use your company again.

When i collect the car club van it was not anywhere to be seen. So I went into the office and asked where is the van that I have on rental? It’s in the compound on the right. Where do I put my car and I was told leave it on the compound or on the carpark. So I drove my car into the compound and parked up alongside the van I had out on hire. The lady out of the office showed me the way to start the van and I set off.

On my return the compound was shut and my “motability car” was lock in.

I called my son and he came to assist by phoning various people at Enterprise. He was on the phone for sometime. He was told the area manager was calling us back. Well that did not happen surprise!!

I contacted your line the car club lady I gave her the situation that I was in . The fact that my car is motability and I needed it to get around in. The lady stated that I would have to wait until the office was open Sunday morning!

No one was at least bothered that I was stranded.

I think your customer service and the information you supply is very poor. I need you to make sure the account is closed. I would never use or suggest that anyone I know should use your company again.

Enterprise Not Responding To Fuel Claim - Cupar, Fife

Enterprise Rental Agreement 4PSRMW. Email sent on 25th August requesting rebate for additional fuel in tank at time of return (full tank) compared with that at time of collection (approx only 3/4 full). Apart from one only brief auto response email, have received no positive feedback to date, unsatisfactory to say the least!! Have now sent two further emails, completed both Enterprise and Trustpilot Surveys and still no acknowledgement or response in writing. I know Enterprise would prefer me to make a phone call, but frankly I prefer to have everything clearly written down so as to avoid any "misunderstandings"!!

Scammers

Scammers! I rented a car picking up at Kerry airport at 1pm and dropping off at Shanon airport Ireland same day at 8pm. I inspected the car and photographed some minor damage As I usually do for my own protection. When I went to return the car at Shanon at 8pm no one was there at dropoff facility. I walked the keys to the terminal . I usually like to drop the car off with a person so that they can give me a clean bill, check the fuel as full, etc. I don’t like just dropping it off. I have since been told there was damage to the underside of the car near the right rear passenger door. This was totally bogus (besides who inspects the underside of the car!). I had heard this exact same scam story the night before about damage to the underside of a car - how they claim non existent non observable damage and bill you for it. I have requested photo proof from them and never received Anything. The Enterprise operation there is VERY UNETHICAL. Choose a different vendor! These guys are dishonest and trying to scam money for non-existent or pre-existing damage!!!

Confirmed and prepaid seven-seater unavailable at the last minute

Very disappointing experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Newbury.

I booked and paid £76.48 online for a Peugeot 5008 or similar seven-seater, for collection at 8:30am on 3 September. I received confirmation of the reservation and had specifically booked a seven-seater because I was taking five visiting family members to Oxford for the day.

While I was actually on my way to the Enterprise branch to collect the car, I received a call telling me that they did not have a suitable vehicle available.

By then it was far too late to make alternative arrangements for six people. We had a timed booking at Christ Church, Oxford, for 11:10am, for which I had paid approximately £130. We were unable to get there in time and lost the non-refundable booking.

What I find particularly frustrating is that this wasn't simply an enquiry or provisional reservation. Enterprise had confirmed my booking and taken payment in advance, so I had every reason to expect the vehicle to be available.

I appreciate that operational problems can occur, but telling a customer that a confirmed vehicle is unavailable only when they are already travelling to collect it is simply not good enough.

I have now submitted a formal complaint requesting a refund of the £76.48 rental charge and reimbursement of the approximately £130 consequential loss.

I will update this review once Enterprise has responded and will be happy to reflect positively on the company if it resolves the matter fairly.

Car Hire at Bergerac Airport…

I hired a car from the Bergerac Airport office. When we picked the car up it only had half a tank full of petrol. The lady dealing with us said that we should return the car with half a tank.

When we returned the car it had 9/16ths of a tank of petrol. The company then had the cheek to charge me £71.32 to fill the car with petrol.

It then took me two months to get the refund. However, because of exchange rates I am still 92 pence out of pocket. Absolutely dreadful customer service from the company. I had to contact their local Group Rental Manager before it was sorted out. I would add that no offer was made of any payment for the 92 pence or for all of the stress I had undergone trying to sort it out

I would recommend that customers at Bergerac Airport use another car hire company.

I would rather walk next time

I would rather walk next time.
Horrendous experience from start to finish. Received a quote through USAA for a set monthly rate, booked a large SUV for 2 months plus a couple of days. Get to Creedmoor Rd and the manager, Allison, says they don't have any. She gives me a Mazda CX-5 which barely fits my luggage and kids in. I get to the parking lot out front and the light comes on saying the cars due an oil change. I go back in and tell them this, Allison swears it's fine, that they could probably turn the alert off, and I could take the car in for an oil change during my trip and they'd reimburse me! I had no other option but to take the vehicle - I literally went to the airport and another local branch but their manager said it was on Creedmoor to correct their error and find me the vehicle I'd booked. They didn't. Allison promised she'd have a larger SUV for me by July 20th when I was adding 2 more people plus luggage to the trip. I called a week in advance to see how that was going, she lied again and said it was in hand. Went in at the 30 day mark to extend my lease - I can book 2 months through the bank but the branch will only honour 1 at a time - this time there's 3 holds for over $1200 each on my credit card. Allison lies about investigating and just says 'oh good' when I told her 2 of them dropped off.
I return the Mazda on the 20th and guess what vehicle I was given.... Not the large SUV, course not. It was a minivan, because Allison said they only had that available. Cheers for the no effort Allison. She then runs my card for $175 but doesn't say why and doesn't send an invoice. But she does tell me I can extend my lease over the phone at the next 30 day mark. ( I tried, this was a lie) So I'm in Colorado at this point. I go into Eagle airport and a lady extends my lease and changes my return to Greensboro airport, puts a note on the account for Creedmoor to call and confirm this for me. I go on my way but hear nothing for 24 hours so call them myself.
Somebody called Nathan answers, he says the vehicle was marked as returned.....I explain the circus experience this far to him and that's when he says good ole Allison has left and he's the new manager. Yay...he swore up and down that he would drop my final bill down to $800 and all I had to do was have the attendant at Greensboro mark the vehicle as returned but not to close the account and he would take care of it all then. He also knew I was catching an international flight the next day. Surprise!! He doesn't call me back like he says he would. INSTEAD!!!! He bills my credit card for £1250+ that's at least $600 more than what my bill would have been had he correctly submitted it in USD and not GBP. Had he billed me in the correct currency I wouldn't be overdrawn on my credit card. He emailed me 6 days later saying they're short staffed then asked if there's anything more they could do.....then ghosted me. Now my credit card company is involved. Yay Creedmoor!

Do not book with Holiday Autos or CarTrawler or Enterprise!

Do not book with Holiday Autos, owned by CarTrawler and the payment went to ET car Hire (ENTERPRISE!). They are dishonest. We hired and prepaid for a car to pick up in June in Washington DC. We are based in NI, we booked through Holiday Autos and the payment went to their Irish business. Despite waiting for most of the day in the branch we never got the car as AVIS said it wasn’t ready, eventually we had to leave and we hired another car. We had all the correct documentation with us. However, Holiday autos are refusing to refund us as we have no proof we arrived ‘on time’. We arrived a few minutes after the allotted time, not realising this would matter even though we had prepaid. They refuse to explain why this matters. They refuse to tell us what AVIS are saying. So DO NOT USE. We have proof we were in the area around 1/2 before, but as the AVIS branch is in a car park basement our iPhones just didn’t record that location. They will find any way to not refund even if it’s not the customer’s fault and there is no consumer body to complain to. DO NOT USE. Part of the problem is the jurisdiction of who the consumer body is. We live in the Uk, used a UK debit card to pay, the company’s HO is is Dublin and the payment went to yet another company while the actual car hire was in US so neither BVRLA or ECRCS would help us.

It was Very difficult to get through to…

It was Very difficult to get through to Enterprise by phone\. It took me over an hour just to get through, and this is certainly not the level of service I expected from them\.

I was charged for a Dartford Tunnel crossing even though I had registered the Enterprise rental vehicle with Dart Charge one day before the crossing\. I contacted both Dart Charge and Enterprise to resolve the issue\. Dart Charge advised me to contact Enterprise and provide the rental agreement information and vehicle details\.

I followed their instructions and emailed Enterprise, attaching proof of my rental agreement and proof that the Enterprise vehicle had been registered\. Despite this, Enterprise did not respond to my email\.

Today, I noticed that Enterprise had deducted £35 from my account\. I did not receive any prior notification or explanation of this deduction, and I strongly dispute the charge\.

I am extremely disappointed with the way this matter has been handled\. I contacted Enterprise in advance, provided all the information requested, and received no response, only to then find that £35 had been taken from my account\.

Customers should carefully check their bank accounts after returning an Enterprise vehicle and make sure they understand what charges may subsequently be taken from their payment card\.

Enterprise needs to explain exactly what this £35 charge is for, why it was taken, and why my previous email was completely ignored\. I expect this matter to be investigated and the money refunded if the deduction was not properly justified or authorised\.

Highly recommended.

We needed a car in a hurry as ours had broken down and we had a lot to do, we rang Enterprise at 9am and were able to pick up a car at 11am. When we arrived to collect the member of staff was very efficient and friendly. Really took the time to make sure that we understood the cars controls and were comfortable with technology that was new to us. The car was very clean and well maintained and we were very happy with it. The return of the car was very easy and the deposit we paid was back in our account within 3 days.

Enterprise Rent A Car - Charging £2000 when you have a max cap of £100 fee then don't apologise.

I rented a car from Enterprise to drive from Heathrow and drop back in Birmingham the day after. I took out the extra cover to limit my maximum excess to £100, before hiring. On picking up the car, I pointed out several large scratches and dents to the hire car and with the Enterprise agent, took photographs of each one with their damage size disc for reference. He advised this was not necessary as they were all too small. I insisted as I did not want to be charged for pre-existing damage. On dropping the car back, the agent in Birmingham inspected the car and confirmed no damage that would trigger a fee. Within hours Enterprise attempted to debit my account £2000. When after about 45 minutes on hold I got through to someone I was told this had been applied by Heathrow for damage to the car. I pointed out that, a) the car was dropped back in Birmingham and b) I had a capped maximum excess of £100 and c) had agreed at collection and drop off no damage that would trigger the charge. The person on the phone said I would need to take that up with Heathrow. I asked that they register my call as a formal complaint and as a breach of contract terms (given the maximum excess). When I spoke to Heathrow, they agreed to "look into this" confirmed I did indeed have a cap on my excess and would get the position resolved. They would not confirm a timescale or in anyway apologise. After another day had passed without a promised call back, I again phoned and requested that my call be escalated. The person I spoke to confirmed I would be recredited, but would need to send evidence of photographs etc (remember the agent said this was unnecessary..) to challenge the damage being reported. Their action led to 5 days later £2000 being recredited to me - so I had by now had nearly 2 weeks where I was out of pocket by £2000 (the incoming charge was earmarked so affected my bank balance). After escalating yet again I was told to resend my photographs this time with clear date stamping, which I did and three days later, the excess of £100 was also returned to me. At no point did Enterprise apologise to me, explain why they had acted as they had or make any offer of recompense for having caused me massive stress levels and compromising me financially for two weeks. I will never ever, book with them again and would never ever trust them or recommend them. Had i been travelling outside the UK and not been so persistent, I would not have got my money back. Totally unethical and unaccountable - I am appalled by the way they have behaved.

Never renting from any Enterprise…

Never renting from any Enterprise location ever again.

Rented a van from them because our van was in the shop. The within 30 minutes of renting, my wife opened the front passenger door and because of a misalignment of the front quarter panel, the door caused a dent on the front quarter panel.

I took the van back to the location immediately to tell them what happened and they said they'd file a report once we returned the van.

After we returned the van, Enterprise told us that we owed them $2,000 to fix the front quarter panel from opening the door. They explained this is their policy but it doesn't make any sense to me that we'd be liable for damage that occurred during normal usage like opening a door. Absolutely ridiculous.

I rented at the Fountain Inn SC…

I rented at the Fountain Inn SC location before and was very satisfied. On my return I gave it a 10 out of 10.
This time I walked in and one guy was busy and a young girl was behind the glass wall looking like “oh no a customer” then the guy told her she can help me. She looked up my record and said one way to Charleston which I corrected her and said Charlotte. She just laughed and said almost the same. ‘Stupid comment”
Then she asked me for a second phone number and I said I don’t have one nor did I ever had to give one. Then the guy chimed in, i assume the manager and said “she is doing her job” I just since I wanted to get out to catch my flight gave just random numbers. I did look up my reservation and nowhere could find that a second phone number is required. I will never ever give out a friends or family members phone number without their knowledge. Enterprise is just trying to collect data so they can sell this data. This young kid then mixed up the car keys as well. Trophy generation is all I am saying
