Since 2004, Bluebird Care has been here to keep loved ones where they feel safest: at home. We started as a family business, and today we’re honoured to be a trusted partner in home care for families across the UK through our network of over 200 local teams.
Our purpose is simple yet profound: we’re here to enrich the lives of those we care for—helping them stay independent, maintain dignity, and enjoy the everyday comforts of home. Our team of compassionate professionals is dedicated to making this possible, day in and day out.
At Bluebird Care, we know how hard it can be to balance care with life’s many demands. We understand the emotional weight that comes with aging, illness, or disability, and we’re here to provide support that feels not just capable, but caring.
We offer a wide range of services, from personal care and companionship to dementia support and end-of-life care—always tailored to the unique needs and wishes of each person we care for. And we’re here for families, too, helping lift the responsibility from your shoulders so you can focus on being the son or daughter, rather than the caregiver.
Bluebird Care stands out because we genuinely listen. We make sure that every service is crafted around the people we serve. With us, you can trust that your loved ones are in gentle, reliable hands, so you can have peace of mind and they can have the comfort of home.

awful company! they have been looking after my dad for a couple of years and i have to check every day what they are doing, i’ve had to raise safe guarding issues and they will come in and do the minimum amount and never stay the time you are paying for, they do not listen to what you want instead do their own thing, if you raise a complaint they give themselves 30 days before they provide you with a response! i had one carer give my dad frozen chips for dinner, they keep leaving his walker where he can’t reach it and he has had multiple falls because of their failures! i would avoid as all cost
All carers are very good and helpful always pleased to see Kay she is like part of the family. Always helpful when you ring.
Broken promises, unfair treatment and poor working standards
I accepted this role based on a formal written agreement clearly stating I would receive 25 hours of work each week. Once I started, it quickly became clear they were unable to deliver what was originally agreed. They tried to change the terms of my contract, and when I did not agree, my employment was ended. They later claimed my original offer had no value and was not part of our agreement, which is misleading and completely unfair.
Working practices here are unsafe and fall well below expected standards. I was regularly notified of shifts less than an hour before they were due to start, sometimes when I was already out. This left me no proper time to read care notes or prepare adequately for visits, yet this was later recorded as a concern against me.
All the reasons given for ending my employment were untrue. I was accused of things that simply did not happen, and claims were made about my work that were never raised with me at the time.
Standard induction training usually takes around 3 weeks, but I was kept training and shadowing for 3 months – far longer than normal. Records were later changed to say I had completed only a small number of shifts, but my own payslips prove otherwise.
This company does not keep its word, treats staff unfairly and operates below the standards you should expect. I would not recommend working here.
Been with Bluebird for about a year. They provide care services, such as stoma care that many of the other companies do not provide.
They have really supported Mum, and clearly worked with Mum to ensure she maintained as much independence as she could.
The other week, on last visit of the night, Mum needed 111. Nicola stayed late to help Mum get though to 111 and set up the home visit she needed.
Thank you Nicola we are very grateful for what you did.
The care provision has evolved to meet Mum's changing care needs.
My thanks to all of the team who have been so supportive and vital in keeping Mum independent and at home.

Sadly, I cannot recommend Bluebird based on our experience with them.
Finding care for a parent with dementia is one of the hardest decisions a family has to make. We placed our trust in Bluebird to provide a safe, reliable and caring live-in service for our mum, but over time that trust was completely eroded.
The biggest issue was the lack of communication. Emails were regularly ignored, we were not kept informed when carers changed, and we were left trying to work out who was actually caring for Mum. Despite the significant cost of the service, we were never provided with regular invoices or a clear explanation of charges. The monthly cost increased from around £6,000 to approximately £13,000, without proper consultation or transparency.
We were also extremely uncomfortable with how our personal information was handled. We were repeatedly told that GDPR meant Bluebird could not provide us with basic contact details for carers, yet information about Mum’s care was shared with people who did not have Lasting Power of Attorney or any legal authority to be involved in decisions about her care. This inconsistency caused a great deal of concern and damaged our confidence in the company.
The most upsetting thing was feeling that Mum’s needs were not always being prioritised. Someone living with dementia needs patience, supervision and genuine engagement, and unfortunately we reached a point where we no longer felt confident that Bluebird was providing the level of care and attention that she deserved.
We gave Bluebird opportunities to address our concerns, but sadly things did not improve. We have now moved Mum to another provider, and we only wish we had made the decision sooner.
Choosing care for a vulnerable family member is incredibly personal, and families need to feel they can trust the people looking after their loved ones. Unfortunately, our experience with Bluebird left us feeling let down.
Bluebird is fantastic! Consistently providing excellent care.
My great experience at work comes from a supportive team, good communication, opportunities to learn, and making a positive difference to the people l care for at work made my experience great at work.

I've been with Bluebird Care over 2 years now and have always found the carers compassionate and empathetic, nothing is too much of a bother. Having reached 80 years old i look forward to a friendly face visiting daily. Being deaf, communication is easier by email which the office team reply almost straightaway to me. They are always very helpful and accommodating to me, i don't know what i would do without Bluebird Care.

We have used both live in carers and domiciliary carers and have been very happy with the level of support and communication from the agency and the responsiveness to any questions / concerns. Having Bluebird agency staff has meant that mum is able to live comfortably and safely at home with her Dementia and given peace of mind for our family and eased the pressure of care. I have found them to be very professional and caring and would recommend them.

Bluebird Care helped us through the most difficult period in our family's life, as my Mum had severe dementia. The carers were all extremely professional whilst being friendly at the same time and helping us all feel relaxed to have them in our home. As time went by, as promised, they matched a small number of regular carers to my Mum to provide consistency and help build a caring rapport.
The carers who came consistently really felt like part of our family unit and helped us cope with the situation. They were at all times gentle and attentive and I genuinely felt like they had my Mum's comfort, peace of mind and well being as their priority.

Bluebird carers have looked after my mother since November 2023. She receives 4 visits daily and a fortnightly cleaning visit. I can thoroughly recommend Bluebird Care to anyone needing care for themselves or their relatives. The carers are professional and good natured and Mum looks forward to their visits. This wasn't always the case as Mum has dementia and initially didn't see the need for assistance. Bluebird worked with me to build her trust and were always happy to tweak timings of visits and regularly review her care plan. A real bonus for me is the excellent communication via phone, email and the online system they use. I am able to see the weekly schedule of visits in advance and reports of each visit by the carer on my phone so always feel reassured that all is well. Thank you to all at Bluebird Care for looking after Mum and being so supportive to me as well.
Bluebird care are an amazing domiciliary care company, all interaction I have had with both office staff especially the manager Hollee and carers has been exceptional and very professional. I highly recommend Bluebird Care Chichester for all home care needs.

Bluebird Care Uttoxeter makes sure they put the customers first, and is a highly professional service. I feel valued as an employee, and I have even had the care services for my own grandparents as I knew they would have the best care! Highly recommend.
I am new to Bluebird and the jury is still out. The person I spoke to said she would get back to me, she didn’t and tried to blame me. I had requested two visits, an hour long for both, starting at 4pm - 5pm. They came at 3.15pm as they couldn’t make the 4pm. No one rang me to tell of the change. They phoned the office and they confirmed it was supposed to be 4pm. Didn’t apologise at all. I was unprepared for the visit, I would have liked to tidy up and not have a cup of tea in front of me. The bluebird agent was lovely. I find the time inconvenient and am a little perturbed of how much Bluebird agents are paid. Also I still pay when on holiday? I will decide this week as I have 14 days cooling off period.
I love working for Bluebird Care because it’s care with real heart. Every day I get to support people in their own homes and help them keep their independence and dignity. The team at Bluebird Burton backs you up, the training is excellent, and you’re treated like family, not just a staff number. Knowing I’ve made someone’s day better is what makes me proud to be here.
From the beginning of starting with Bluebird Care as a carer in 2022, I can say that this is an excellent company to work for. The office team are working closely with all the carers and are very supportive with any issues that could arise.
