At first, it seemed like a very well-functioning business model: both from the seller's and the buyer's side. The collection and delivery of the books themselves is incredible: it's a logistical feat that I've never experienced with any other webshop. All my orders arrived intact and the package was prepared amazingly quickly. Bookbot would be unbeatable with its fixed shipping rate and this precision, but unfortunately the company is gradually withdrawing its tempting offers, which might not even be a problem if it did all this transparently. But that's not the case. It hides the changed user conditions so ingeniously - which, for example, as a buyer, are revealed only during payment, at the checkout - that even its own colleagues don't know about it, and when the unsuspecting buyer runs into one of these and asks about it, they are met with immeasurable arrogance, which suggests that the fault lies with him for not noticing something that is almost imperceptible. The low rating is basically due to the fact that it assumes bad faith from its customers! :((((

There is no loyalty program - in fact, rather the opposite, t.ex.purchase limit -, and the specific payment and delivery terms are not clearly stated anywhere. Some books arrived in much worse condition than I expected, and I had a lot of problems with multi-volume copies that were sold as one volume, and only when I opened the book home did I realize that I had received the 2nd volume of a work. And I hope that it is just an urban legend that they burn books that were sent by others and not sold. If this is really the case, then there is no human word for it. But Maria will come soon and reassure us that this is not the case. So be it!

Overall, there is incredible potential in the business, I am very grateful to the store for giving me access to books that I did not even know about before, but it would be important to take into account the interests of buyers and sellers, and definitely respect them. Because no matter how you look at it, Bookbot make a living from them.

I had an excellent experience from Bookbot. The delivery was prompt and well-organised. In fact, I had made a mistake with my order and communicated this to them (my fault entirely) - they incredibly graciously agreed a refund. I am grateful to them and commend them highly.

I paid only £13.04, most of which was shipping.

I was a bit alarmed when I was redirected to a bank in Czechia, but Trustpilot reviews were good, so I went ahead. I'm so glad I did, because the book - a surprise for my husband - is in such good condition, there is no need to share its origin. Plus, the double-wrap packaging avoids shipping damage. Win, win!

Cheap book in good condition. No delivery issues.

I'm based in Australia, and was looking for German children's books at reasonable prices - postage to Australia from Europe is already a killer, so the books couldn't be too expensive. There aren't many German books available in Australia, especially for young infants, so I had to start looking overseas.

I'd never heard of Bookbot before - and to be honest, the website sounded a little too good to be true. It offers an enormous selection of 50 cent+ 2nd hand books in good condition, a huge variety of great quality titles categorised beautifully, and any damage to each book is meticulously & accurately detailed.

What was the catch? Did they not ship internationally? Was this a scam website? Would delivery take 3 months or more?

Unbelievably, there's no catch. This website is 101% legitimate, and absolutely does everything they say they'll do - and much more.

I ordered 2 boxes of children's books (I got a little excited, I'll admit - but when the books cost between 50 cents and €2 - why not?) on a Tuesday morning, and by Friday morning that same week, they were waiting for me at my front doorstep, all the way from the Czech Republic via Germany to Melbourne. AMAZING. The postage price was extremely reasonable too - thank you. :-) The books were exactly as described online, and packed so carefully.

I've read (and reread) a few of them with bubs already, who adores her new library additions.

To sum, Bookbot absolutely blows my mind. The service, quality & variety on offer, speed, pricing, accuracy, and overall accessibility for international customers such as myself is in a league of its own. Amazon would not be able to compete with you. I don't think I've ever had the sincere and heartfelt pleasure of saying this before to any other company I've dealt with but, based on my first (with hopefully many more to come) order with Bookbot, I cannot think of a single thing you could do to improve. Your operations are flawless (phenomenal, even), and surpassed my expectations in every way.

Hallo I have only the best experience with Bookbot. So many good Books to read and then recycle afterwards.

Very satisfied with my order. The box was a little bit damaged because of the weight I think. The fact each book is individually pictured is reassuring. Broad range of books. Not sure the watchdogs work very well or it is that the books I'm following are not being replenished for the time being. Great (EU) alternative to big tech platforms.

Was looking for an out-of-print book and the best offer that appeared in the search results was from Bookbot. I had not previously heard of this company so I checked for the TrustPilot rating and was assured they are legitimate and reputable, which lent me the confidence to place the order with them. A previous review informed me to expect the need to look for an email from Bookbot to complete the purchase, which was proper advice as the error message that appeared during the process was a bit disconcerting, but sure enough there in my Inbox was all the necessary banking information plus a hyperlink to complete the transaction. Bookbot promptly emailed an invoice and then next day provided a tracking number so that I might follow the shipment’s progress. A right rapid progress it was, too: 5250 miles (8449km) from Prague (Praha) Czech Republic to New Orleans, Louisiana, and in my hand in only four days, and at a cost comparable to what I might expect to pay for a 1300-page oversized hardcover book to be shipped to me from a neighboring state here in America— bookstore deliveries here in my own country have taken longer. Bookbot made a fair offer, shipped promptly, and kept me informed. I am well satisfied with the company and I recommend them, let this dispel your reservations.

I would have totally rated this site 5 star because I had placed 3 large orders of books and had great experience - quality, book condition, shipping speed and packaging were awesome. I was about to place my 4th order just to find out they no longer provide shipping to the Untied States? Why? Why? Why? I’m so disappointed!

I just got an email that the book I ordered returned to sender. Don‘t know why. We have a postbox in front of the door.
