Definitions
- the present invention is related to carrying out transport operations comprising ships and related equipment. It is a propulsion instrument for muscular power, specifically an articulated oar with an internal mechanism in its handle.
- the oar contains a concentric axis that is manipulated by a rigid perpendicular handle that allows, through a groove in the oar tube, to move the axis so that through a channel it communicates the movement to the end of the paddle, which through a joint allows it to be locked or released in both directions, and even locked to use it as a conventional paddle.
- the central axis is repositioned by a spring.
- the antecedent US7144284B1 is an oar consisting of two parallel axes joined at both ends to form a parallelogram configuration, which keeps the oar blade and the handle parallel to each other and perpendicular to the ship throughout the rowing cycle.
- the new invention differs from the aforementioned background mainly because it has an internal concentric mechanism that gives mobility to the blade, allowing it to offer less resistance to water as it bends perpendicular to the cane.
- the antecedent has a parallelogram configuration that keeps the paddle blade and the handle parallel to each other. The invention reduces the effort, since its novel mechanism allows keeping the oar in the water to make the change of direction or release the friction.
- a rowing system is provided that keeps the oar blade approximately 90 degrees from the centerline or the keel of a ship along the normal energy production run.
- the mechanism contemplated in the background requires a cable and a spring mechanism to allow the blade to move.
- the new invention has a simpler mechanism, concentric to the rod, which allows rowing mobility in both directions or It allows its use as a conventional paddle. Additionally, the antecedent keeps the oar blade at approximately 90 degrees from the centerline or the keel of a ship, while the novel mechanism proposed in the invention allows the paddle blade to be released to move up to a 90 degree angle with regarding rowing rod.
- the use of the existing oars requires that the oars be removed from the water in order to return to their initial position and give a push back to the paddling cycle, this requires a lot of effort and long times for its correct use.
- the new invention does not require rowing out of the water, because it has its own locking and unlocking mechanism of the final position of the vane, by means of a handle that activates a central axis inside a tube and recovers its position by the action of a spring.
- the solution provided to this technical problem could not be obvious to a technician versed in the field since none of the related documents in the state of the art allow the solution proposed by the invention under analysis to be derived from its content.
- the invention has an improved effect compared to what is already known and, therefore, constitutes a contribution to the state of the art, allowing to conclude that the invention has a novel level.
- Figure 1 Shows all elements of the oar with the release handles and lock of the steering selection mechanism.
- Figure 2 Shows the rowing block positions where a rod sets the addressing position for direction selection.
- the oar (10) is composed of a hollow tubular body handle (1 1) with a longitudinal stem (12) concentric to the tubular body (1 1); wherein said rod has a perpendicular lever (13) for actuation with the user's fingers.
- Perpendicular to the tubular body (1 1) is a clamping mechanism (14) of the oar
- the longitudinal rod (12) has an internal termination (15) in a spring (16) for handling the rod (12) in compression and return to its vane lock position (17) according to the selected position of the palette (17).
- Said longitudinal rod (12) has an angulation between 0 ° to 30 ° of freedom that is represented in the dotted lines of the angle (18) of the end of the oar (10).
- the longitudinal rod (12) has three locking positions, a position called front (20) for advancing the boat, a position called rear (19) for recoil of the boat and a position called straight (21) that locks the paddle like a traditional paddle.
- the longitudinal rod (12) is retractable and with concentric rotation in the lock (22).
- the retractable movement (23) is longitudinal within the tubular body (1 1) and has its longitudinal stop in the intermediate groove (24); in the same way the concentric turn (25) has its stop in the insurance (22).
- the internal end of the longitudinal rod (12) has a termination in the spring (16) and the external termination (26) of the longitudinal rod (12) protrudes from the tubular body
- This paddle (10) is functional for navigation or sport and is made up of a tubular tubular body structure (1 1) and an articulated vane with a hinge (27), where its articulated vane (17) has contact with water and is handled from the handle where it is held.
- the hinge (27) has a pin (28) that fulfills the function of pivot of the hinge (27) and support for the type of lock chosen either a position called front (20) for advancing the boat or a position called rear (19) for recoil.
- Inside the tubular structure is an internal mechanism that controls with a minimum movement the actions of releasing the blade (17) so that it can move on both sides or lock the blade towards the desired side and allowing advance or reverse accordingly at the user's choice, or equally lock it completely to use it as a conventional oar.
- the invention is represented by an internal mechanism comprised of an axis concentric to the body of the oar and is manipulated by a rigid handle perpendicular to the body of the oar, fixed to said axis, which allows through a groove in the oar tube to move the axis so that through a channel it communicates the movement to the end of the paddle, which by means of a joint allows it to be locked or released in both directions, and even locked to use it as a conventional paddle.
- the central axis is repositioned by a spring.
