Abstract

A dual internal combustion engine comprises a cylindrical body (101) and a piston (102) provided in the cylindrical body (101). The piston includes a double acting piston head (102) connected to a piston rod (104) at one end of the double acting piston head (102) and divides the cylindrical body (101) into a first combustion chamber (111) and a second combustion chamber (121). The one end of the piston rod (104) is connected to a crankshaft (106) through the second combustion chamber (121). The dual internal combustion engine further includes a plurality of lubrication nozzles (107) on the cylindrical body wall to lubricate the combustion chambers and the piston, and a plurality of sealing rings along the piston rod (104). The combustion in the first combustion chamber (111) takes place above the double acting piston head (102) and the combustion in the second combustion chamber (121) takes place below the double acting piston head (102). The engine is compact, and the overall weight of the engine is reduced, and the power output is increased.
