Definitions
- the invention relates to a welding device consisting of a welding gun to be held by hand with a switching device for a welding current source and a protective hood which can be fastened to the head of the welder and has movably mounted dark glass.
- a protective hood that is held in front of the welder's face when he is working.
- the protective hood has a dark glass window, which allows the welder to observe the welding work without the eyes being damaged by flashy flashing light.
- Protective hoods are also known in which the dark viewing glass is arranged such that it can be folded down.
- a disadvantage of the known devices is that it is not ensured that the welder only welds when his eyes are shielded from bright lightning rays.
- the object of the invention is therefore to propose a welding device which is designed such that when the protective hood is in place before switching on
- the dark glass of the protective hood serves as eye protection.
- the object is achieved in a welding device of the type mentioned in that the dark glass is slidably mounted on the inner wall of the protective hood and is connected to a return spring which is connected via a drive device with the switching device for the welding current source.
- the dark viewing glass is advantageously mounted parallel to a viewing window arranged in the protective hood and guided in lateral guide profiles.
- the return spring is preferably connected to a control lever on one side.
- the control lever is connected according to an advantageous embodiment with a pull magnet, which is effective against the spring force of the return spring and which can be actuated by an on-off microswitch of a welding gun.
- control lever is designed as a rocker arm and is effectively connected on one side via a Bowden cable to a switch of the switching device arranged on the welding gun.
- the switching device advantageously has contacts at a distance from one another for the power supply of the welding gun and for the actuation of the return spring of the dark glass, and the contacts are independent can be actuated from one another by a common, displaceable actuating member in such a way that when the power supply is switched on, the darkness reads the viewing window.
- the actuator of the switching device is guided according to an advantageous embodiment along an angularly bent time delay path.
- the welding device With the welding device according to the invention it is achieved both that the eyes of the welder are safely protected against lightning during the welding process and that when machining the weld seam of the workpiece with full preservation of the view no leaking material particles get into the eyes or face can. It is also possible to hold and operate the welding gun including the switching device while working in one hand while the other hand is free for other activities.
- 2 is a welding gun with switching device and welding transformer
- FIG. 3 shows the protective hood in longitudinal section according to A-B of FIG. 1,
- FIG. 4 shows the welding gun with switching device according to FIG. In side view, 5 shows the switching device according to FIGS. 2 and 4 in an enlarged view,
- FIGS. 1 and 6 shows the welding device according to FIGS. 1 and 2, but with a Bowden cable connection
- FIG. 7 shows the welding device according to FIG. 6 in section corresponding to FIGS. 3 and 4,
- FIGS. 6 and 7 the switching device according to FIGS. 6 and 7 in an enlarged embodiment.
- a screen 1 which can be attached to the head of the welder.
- a viewing window 2 which allows a clear view when the protective hood is in place.
- a dark viewing glass 3 is arranged on the inside of the protective hood, which is slidably guided in lateral guide profiles 4.
- the Kingssi chtglas 3 is connected to a side guide rod 5.
- the guide rod 5 is connected at its lower end to a control lever 6 which is connected to the lower end of a return spring 7.
- the control lever 6, at one end of which the guide rod 5 and the return spring 7 engage, is effectively connected at its other end in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 3 with a pull magnet 8.
- the pull magnet 8 is connected via a cable 9 to the welding gun according to FIGS. 2 and 4.
- the switching device 12 has two spaced contacts 13 and 14 which can be switched on and off independently of one another by a common, displaceable actuating member 15.
- the contacts 13 and 14 are arranged such that only one contact is switched by moving the actuator 15.
- the contact 13 serves to actuate the pull magnet 8, while the contact 14 causes the welding gun to be switched on and off.
- the pull magnet 8 pulls the darkness lsi chtg las 3 downward against the force of the return spring 7, so that the welder can see freely from the protective hood. In this position of the switching element 15, as shown in Fig. 4, the welding gun 10 remains switched off.
- the switching element 15 If the switching element 15 is pushed upwards so that the contact 14 is actuated and the welding gun is switched on, the switching element 15 leaves the contact 13, whereby the pull magnet 8 is switched off, with the result that the return spring 7 places the dark glass 3 in front of the viewing window 2 pushes and thus guarantees eye protection for the welder.
- a time delay path 16 is provided for the switching element 15, which is kinked at an angle and ensures that, even when the switching element 15 is moved quickly, the welding gun 10 is not switched on earlier than the return spring 7, the dark glass 3 in the brought the desired position.
- a Bowden cable 8a is provided instead of the pull magnet 8 according to FIG. 1 between the control lever 6 and the switching device 12, which in turn can be switched on by means of the switching mechanism 15 in order to counter the force of the dark glass 3 Bring return spring 7 in a position releasing the view.
- it is ensured that the contact to the welding gun 10 is only closed when the dark glass 3 is returned to the eye protection position by the return spring 7.
- this also ensures that the welding gun is only switched on by a time delay path 16a for the switching operation 15 when the eye protection is effective.
