UNITED STATES PATENT ()rrron JOHN E. MOYE, OF CLIFTON, CANADA.
IMPROVEMENT IN MEDICAL COMPOUNDS OR LINIMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 147,858., dated February 24, 1874; application filed January 26, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OHN E. MoYE, of Clifton, Ontario, in the Dominion of Canada, have invented a new and useful Composition of Matter to be used as a Liniment; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full and correct description of the same.
The liniment, for which I desire a patent, i composed of the, following ingredients. The quantities and proportions given are those requisite to make a single gallon. I Sassafrasoil, one-half ounce; castor-oil, onehalf pint; tincture of arnica, one pint; tincture of wormwood, one pint; tincture of laudanum, one
fourth pint; tincture of blood-root, one pint; tincture of lobelia, one pint; oil of turpentine, two' ounces; alcohol, one pint and a half. These several ingredients, mixed together in the ordinary manner, form a compound which is claimed to be useful for the cure of rheumatisin, sprains, bruises, burns and scalds, stiffness of joints, lame back, sca1d-head, saltrheum, chilblains, running sores, sore throat, gathered breasts, sore nipples, fresh cuts,
toothache, headache, and generally for the JOHN E. MOYE.
