JULIA A. ACHARD, or LODI, CALIFORNIA.
LlNlMENT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 400,992, dated April 9, 1889. Application filed November 30,1888. Serial No. 292,346. (No specimens.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JULIA A. ACHARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lodi, in the county of San Joaquin and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Liniments; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The said medical compound is used as a liniment; and it consists of the following ingredients, combinedin the proportions and in the manner stated, viz: one gallon alcohol, one pound chloroform, six ounces ether, six ounces laudanum, six ounces gum-camphor, six ounces tincture arnica, two ounces tincture cayenne, three large beef galls, four ounces fresh butter. Mix the galls and butter together. Then out with one quart alcohol, add the other ingredient-s and two quarts pure cold water, and after thoroughly mixing and mingling by agitation bottle for use.
This liniment is to be used externally by rubbing, and will be found to be highly beneficial in cases of sore throat, rheumatism, sprains, bruises, &c.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The hereindescribed medical compound as a liniment, consisting of chloroform, ether, laudanum, gum camphor, tincture arnica, tincture cayenne, beef-gall, fresh butter, alcohol, and water, in the proportions specified.
