" arren sira rns rarnnr semen ANNA J. NELSON, OF NOME, TERRITORY OF, ALASKA.
COMBINED NEGKTIE STBETCHER AND I-LEKNGEB.
To all whom it may concern: i
lie it known that I. Aviva J. NELSON, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Nome, lV, Territory of Alaska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Necktie Stretchers and i'langers; and I do hereby declarethe following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The primary object of this invention is to provide a novel type of combined necktie hanger and stretcher, that will effectively stretch the necktie, and which will be of simple construction, cheap to manufacture, will be durable, and capable of being collapsed when not in use.
Other objects will. appear and be better understood in that embodiment of my invention of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming a part thereof in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of the necktie hanger and stretcher showing the same in operative position.
Fig. 2 is a transverse section taken on the line X-X of Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings in detail, the letter A designates the combined necktie stretcher and hanger, as an entirety, which includes a vertically disposed rectangular main supporting frame 1, formed of the opposite side bars 2 and opposite end bars 3, the meeting ends of the side and end bars heing provided with registering eyes l. A second rectangular shaped frame 5 is located in front of the frame 1, in spaced re lation thereto, and is formed of opposite side bars 6 and opposite end bars 7, having their meeting ends provided with registering eyes 8 similar to the eyes 1 on the side and end bars of the first-mentioned frame. Connecting and spacing bars 9 are interposed between the frames 1 and 5 and located at the corners thereof, and each has its opposite ends provided with eyes 10, which register, respectively, the bars forming'the respective frames 1 and 5. Bolts 11 extend through the alined eyes on the frames 1 and 5 and the bars 9 and have their ends threaded for reception of nuts 12. The bars forming the frames 1 and 5 are adapted to have pivotal movement on the bolt 11 so that the structure i Specification of I ietters Patent.- i

can be collapsed, when not in use, to admit of the same occupying a minimum amount ofspace. Swingingly mounted on the uppereud of the bars 7 of the frame 5 is a-U- The clampmg member 13' is of a width and length equal to the width and length of the frame and has the upper ends of the sides thereof provided with eyes 1 1, that loosely receive the upper end bar of the frame 5 to admit of'the free swinging movement of the clamping member.
An inverted V-shaped bracket 16 overlies the upper end of the frame 1 and has the free terminals thereof provided with eyes, which register with the eyes on the upper ends of the sides of the frame 1 for the reception of the outer ends of the bolts 11. The bracket 16 has the apex portion provided with an eye 17, for the reception of a suitable stud, not shown, to be secured to any suitable support. The bracket 16 serves to hold the frames 1 and 5 against movement to folded position when in operative position, and when it is desired to fold the frames one end of the bracket 16 is detached so as to admit of the folding of the same. As further means for holding the frame against accidental movement to folded position a chain 18 is provided. This chain has one end secured to the apex of the V- shaped bracket 16 and its opposite end provided with a hook 19 adapted to detachably engage over the upper end bar of the frame 5, when the device is in operative position.
When it is desired to fold the frames 1 and 5, one end of the bracket 16 is detached,
prising a main frame including side and end bars pivotally secured together, spacing bars secured to the ends of the main supporting frame, a tie frame secured to the free ends of the spacing bars, and a clamping member hingedly connected to the tie supporting frame, as and for the purpose specified.
2., A device of the class described comprising a main supporting frame including side and end bars, a second frame including side and end bars, spacing bars pivotally securing the second frame to the main supporting frame, said frames adapted to be collapsed, means for holding the frames against collapsing, and an inverted. U- shaped clamping member having its arms pivotally secured to the upper end bar of the second named frame, and means for urging the Web of the inverted U-shaped clamping member into engagement With the lower end bar of the second clamping frame, as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony whereof I afliX my signature in presence of two witnesses.
