EDWIN P. DIMENT, 0F NEWBERG, OREGON.
NECKTIE SUPPORTER AND STRETCHER.
Application filed July 20, 1914-.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWIN P. DIMnN'r, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newberg, in the county of Yamhill and State of Qregon, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Necktie Supporters and Stretchers; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and eXact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to necktie supporters and stretchers, and one of the principal objects of the invention is to provide a simple device which will keep neckties and scarfs in proper condition for use, and which can be quickly operated to release the tie when selected for wear.
Another object of the invention is to provide a combined support and stretcher for scarfs and neckties which will hold a large number of ties or scarfs and which will permit the removal of any one of the ties or scarfs without interfering with the others.
The foregoing and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a necktie supporter and stretcher made in accordance with this invention, Fig. 2 is a central vertical section through the same, and Fig. 3 is a detail transverse sectional view.
Referring to the drawing, the numeral 9 designates the side members of the frame, while 10 is the bottom and 11 the terminal ends of the wire or rod forming the frame, said ends being bent and twisted together as shown at 12 to form a suspending device. The bar 18 for supporting the folded portion. of the necktie is connected to the side members 9 and bent to be slightly spaced therefrom as shown in Fig. 2, the ends of said bar being connected by twisting the Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 852,018.
ends around the side members 9 as shown at l t. The pivoted holding members 15 are provided with eyes 16 mounted on the side members 9 and provided with angular spring members 17 which engage the opposite member 9 to hold said members in place. Cross rods 18 are connected at their ends to the side bars 9, and the holding members 15 cooperate with said cross rods 18 to hold the scarfs or ties Z) in place.
From the foregoing it will be obvious that the frames may be larger or smaller depending upon the number and character of the scarfs or ties to be supported.
Various changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claim.
\Vhat is claimed is A necktie supporter and stretcher comprising a substantially rectangular frame formed from a continuous piece of wire and having its ends bent inwardly and upwardly and twisted about each other, a supporting bar secured to the side members adjacent the bent ends for supporting neckties, said side members provided with offset portions, a plurality of cross rods twisted about the side members within the offset portions, and a plurality of holding members twisted around one of the side members within the oifset portions and bent adjacent each end to offset them from the plane of the cross rods for securing the ends of the neckties between the cross rods and the holding members and the free ends of the holding members being bent to clamp one of the side members.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
