To all whom it may concern:

Be itknown that we, J ones.r (lacra, HENRY W; Terssnna, and WALTER D, Tnrsenae, of leveiand, in the county of' Cuyahoga and State-of hio, have invented a certain new and heeft improved Faucet; and we do hereby declare that following is a full, clear, and complete description of the same, reference, being had to the accompanying drawing making part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a side View of one fascetand removable nozzle or iiiler; Figures 2 and 3 are detachedL views of the faucetkey;

The nature of this invention relates toa faucetkey and removable nozzle; and

The object thereof is to provide a metallic key with a leather covering, thereby combining in said key the strength and durability of the metal and the iiexible adaptability of the leather, as hereinafter more fully described.

A' represents the body of' the faucet, and which is or may be constructed of Wood or of any other suitable material.

B is the key, which lis of the usual form and of any desirable size, and is inade of metal.

Between the said shoulder is secured a sleeve or i'errnle of leather, F, which is of the proper size. and shape to fit the key-hole ol' the body of the faucet, and which conforms to the taper given to the tace of the collars or shoulders'l) E; hence the Atwo shoulders and the ferrule F together' forni a true and uuiform taper, as shown in iig. 2.

The key-hole is provided with a metal bush, hence the leather ferrule will work smoothlythereon and free from abrasion, and which, in consequence of the softer character ofthe leather, the key will lit closely and tightly in the key-hole. y,

'lheleather for the ferrule, on being wet and softened, is wrapped around the key between the shoulders, and then placed in the crimper, shown in figs. 4 and 5, by the aid of which the leather is compressed around'the key and into the grooves.

Said grooves form acorresponding rib on the inside o' the i'errule, and which, fitting in the groove or grooves, prevent the ferrule from turning.

A faucet-key thus made' has all the strength of one of solid metal, and the advantage over one entirely of metal of being more secure, as the leather will fit closer andtighter in the key-hole.

It is also more durable, as the two materials working together will cause no abrasion, or but little, and the leather being conned between the two shoulders it cannot slip off nor become loose ou the key.

B' is a tapering hollow'nozzle, chamber-ed at its upper end to projection b, and fitted to receive the lower or discharge end oi' key B.

j The purpose oi' this removable nozzle or iiller is to attach it firmly to the lower end of key B by inserting the lower end of said key into the chamba-red upper end of nozzle B', whereby small-necked bottles or vials may be filled without the use of the common funnel. The nozzle B' may be extended to any desired length, and, if necessary, have a very small dischargeopening at its lower end.

By this arrangement of nozzle, with key B coustructed as described, a very useful and convenient device is produced for the use of apothecaries or oth'- ers for filling small vessels or vials having small receiving-openings, and the use of a funnel is entirely dispensed with.
