Недостатком данного способа является низкая эффективность, вызванная тем, что введенный в организм ферроглюкин не обладает стимулирующим действием в отношении эритропоэза (развития эритроцитарных клеток), а служит только исходным сырьем (материалом) для биосинтеза гемоглобина. Задача решается тем, что в способе профилактики физиологической анемии поросят, включающем введение в организм животного в 3-7 дневном возрасте ферроглюкина в дозе 120 - 160 мг и катализатора синтеза гемоглобина, в качестве катализатора синтеза гемоглобина используют йод, а введение его в организм осуществляют методом имплантации в дозе 2 - 4 мг на одно животное.
