Способ выплавки рельсовой стали, включающий подачу в дуговую электросталеплавильную печь в качестве металлошихты металлолома и жидкого чугуна, расплавление, окислительный период, выплавку стали сериями, выпуск плавки с оставлением шлака и части металла в печи, присадку в ковш во время выпуска твердой шлакообразующей смеси, раскислителей и легирующих, доводку стали по температуре и химическому составу на агрегате ковш-печь, отличающийся тем, что заливку жидкого чугуна с содержанием кремния не более 0,45% и фосфора не более 0,09% в количестве 25-75% от массы завалки производят на оставшийся в печи шлак и часть металла, после заливки производят завалку металлолома в количестве 15-35% от массы завалки, полуфабрикат композиционный в количестве 10-40% от массы завалки и извести в количестве 3,0-4,3% от массы завалки, при расплавлении и в окислительный период производят продувку газообразным кислородом с расходом 6000-12000 м3/ч, присадку извести в количестве 0,4-1,3% от массы завалки порциями по 50-200 кг и вдувание углеродсодержащего порошка с интенсивностью 15-100 кг/мин.
