Способ выплавки рельсовой стали, включающий подачу в дуговую электросталеплавильную печь в качестве металлошихты металлолома и жидкого чугуна, расплавление, окислительный период, выплавку стали сериями, выпуск плавки с оставлением шлака и части металла в печи, присадку в ковш во время выпуска твердой шлакообразующей смеси, раскислителей и легирующих, доводку стали на агрегате ковш-печь, отличающийся тем, что на оставшийся в печи шлак и часть металла после выпуска плавки заваливают металлолом в количестве 15-35% от массы завалки, полуфабрикат композиционный в количестве 10-40% от массы завалки и известь в количестве 2,8-4,2% от массы завалки, заливку жидкого чугуна с содержанием кремния не более 0,45% и фосфора не более 0,09% в количестве 25-75% от массы завалки осуществляют после проплавления металлолома при удельном расходе электроэнергии 130-380 кВт·ч/т суммарной массы металлолома и полуфабриката композиционного, окисление проводят газообразным кислородом с расходом 80-120 м3/ч на тонну металлошихты, присадку извести в печь после заливки жидкого чугуна производят порциями по 50-200 кг в количестве 0,4-1,2% от массы металлошихты, вдувание углеродсодержащей пыли проводят с интенсивностью 35-120 кг/мин.
