Abstract

1435184 Charging electric furnaces DONAU CHEMIE AG 10 July 1973 [20 July 1972] 32780/73 Heading F4B The hollow electrode 9 of a melting furnace is fed with material from a supply hopper 3 by a tiltable screw conveyer 6, 7, the supply hopper having an outlet below the level of the upper end of the electrode. Flexible connecting members connect the conveyer tube 6 with the hopper outlet and with the supply tube 12 which penetrates the electrode 9. The conveyer tube 6 is supported by guides 8, 11 and is tiltable by means of a pin 14 movable in a vertical guide 15.
