  For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a cosmetic composition for cleaning the skin, characterized in that it essentially comprises calcined clay or a mixture of calcined clays. This product based on a natural product such as clay has a low impact on the environment. It allows to clean hands effectively thanks to the mechanical action of calcined clay particles. Finally, this product has a low cost price given the price of the basic elements, which are used in other applications, including the gluing and coating of refractory slabs of an oven. The calcined clay is obtained by baking the clay at a high temperature, greater than 1000 C, and of the order of 1450 C. By clay, is meant a clay of a type or a mixture of clays. Preferably, the calcined clay comprises calcined plastic clay as well as calcined calcined clay. Preferably, the mixture of calcined clays comprises of the order of 0 to 80% of plastic clay and of the order of 20 to 100% of chamoté clay.
