Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of high visibility textile surfaces. More particularly, it relates to a woven textile article that can be used to make high visibility clothing and provides good protection against heat and flame.
  • Yarns of yellow color and orange threads are thus known which, when woven, make it possible to obtain a sufficient level of visibility. Visibility criteria are for example defined in the EN 471 standard.
  • yellow fabrics are known which meet the criteria of high visibility and fire protection. These fabrics are obtained by weaving yarn intrinsically resistant to heat containing yellow pigments. These fabrics also have a relatively poor color retention.
  • the object of the present invention is to propose a solution to this problem, and to propose new textile surfaces of high visibility and offering protection against the risks associated with fire, especially new yellow textile surfaces.
  • the textile surface has at least one high visibility face, yellow or orange.
  • High visibility is characterized by the chromaticity coordinates and the luminance factor in accordance with EN 471.
  • the methods for measuring the chromaticity coordinates and the luminance factor are specified in CIE 15: 2: 1968.
  • the surface is obtained from yarns or fibers of several types, the yarns or fibers A, B, C. If a yarn or a fiber has both the characteristics of yarns or fibers of two types A and B, it falls within each of these natures.
  • the surface is for example obtained by weaving or knitting, with a construction such that the son or fibers C appear on the face of high visibility.
  • the son or fibers A are arranged in the textile surface in two distinct directions, for example in two weaving directions.
  • Yarn means a continuous multifilament object, a continuous yarn of fibers, obtained from a single type of fibers, or a mixture of fibers, for example fibers A and B in intimate mixture, or fibers A or B with other fibers.
  • the son or fibers A are thermostable. These are yarns or fibers whose shrinkage and loss of mechanical properties are limited after short exposure to a flame (of the order of 3 to 4 seconds).
  • aramid-based yarns or fibers such as polyamide-imide, polyparaphenylene terephthalamide, polymetaphenylene isophthalamide, polyimides, polybenzimidazole (PBI), and polyparaphenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole (PBO).
  • Yarns A may consist of a blend of fibers, intimate blend or heart / skin blend (core fiber yarns).
  • the yarns may also consist of polymetaphenylene isophthalamide fibers, or mixtures of these fibers with, in particular, polyparaphenylene terephthalamide fibers.
  • fiber yarns comprising modacrylic fibers are Protex M or S fibers marketed by Kaneka, Lufnen fibers VF1 and VE1, Super valzer fibers.
  • the son or fibers B preferably have an oxygen limit index greater than 30%.
  • They may for example be son or fibers based on polyethylene terephthalate comprising a pigment introduced before the spinning and conferring the required color son or fibers.
  • the pigment is advantageously orange. It may for example be orange threads marketed by the company Trevira under the reference Texturgarn Typ 501 V.
  • the surface is obtained by weaving at least three families of son.
  • Wire families define at least part of the structure and construction of the surface. Each family may comprise threads or fibers of different types.
  • a first family is called the family of superior sons. This family constitutes a chain or a frame appearing on the face of high visibility. It comprises yarns or fibers C. It may optionally also comprise yarns or fibers A and / or B.
  • a second family is called the family of lower sons. This family is made up of threads parallel to the family of lower threads. The lower threads do not appear on the high visibility side.
  • a third family is called the family of transverse threads. This family consists of wires perpendicular to the lower threads. It is woven with at least the family of lower threads. It can be woven also with other families of threads, for example with the family of higher threads or with another family of fibers, different from the family of upper sons and the family of lower threads.
  • At least one family chosen from the family of lower son and the family of transverse son comprises son or fiber B, and the family of lower son and the family of transverse son each comprise
  • one of the families comprises both yarns or fibers A and yarns or fibers B. It may be a yarn spun from A fibers and fibers. B. This family may for example be made of fiber yarn A and B in intimate mixture.
  • the family of transverse yarns consists of yarns spun from A and B fibers in intimate mixture, and the family of lower yarns is made of yarns obtained from heat-stable fibers, alone or as a mixture, for example an intimate mixture with other fibers.
  • the latter son may, for example, be intimate mixtures of aramid fibers and flame retarded fibers based on viscose.
  • the surface may for example be obtained by double-warp or double-weave weaving.
  • double-warp weave the family of upper threads constitutes the upper warp
  • the family of lower threads constitutes the lower warp
  • the family of transverse threads constitutes the warp.
  • double weft structure the family of upper threads constitutes the upper weft
  • the family of lower threads constitutes the lower thread
  • the family of cross threads constitutes the thread.
  • the lower thread family is not apparent on the high visibility face.
  • the family of upper sons is not apparent.
  • the two faces are respectively weavings transverse son with respectively upper and lower son.
  • the weave armor can be armor derived from linen, satin, twill.
  • a preferred armor is twill weave of 4 double warp or double warp.
  • the proportion by weight in the textile surface of yarns or fibers A is preferably greater than 35%.
  • the proportion by weight of yarns or fibers C for example based on polyethylene terephthalate, is preferably less than 50% and even more preferably less than 30%.
  • the weight ratio of yarns or fibers B to yarns or fibers C for example based on polyethylene terephthalate, is preferably between 25/75 and 75/25.
  • all the son of the family of transverse yarns are yarns obtained by assembling a yarn A and a yarn B, or by intimate mixing of fibers A and fibers B.
  • all the son of the family of the lower son are son A.
  • the son of the family of upper son preferably covers at least 70% of the upper face of the surface.
  • Figure 1 shows schematically the structure of the fabric.
  • the fabric is subjected to the tests defined in EN 471 and EN 531.
  • the fabric complies with these standards, with classification A, B1, C1, E1 for EN 531.
