Abstract

Un proceso de recuperacion de metales preciosos en el cual un material carbonoso, tal como un carbon que atrapa al oro lixiviado, se flota después de la oxidacion de los sulfuros para separar el material carbonoso del metal precioso. Reivindicacion 1: Un método caracterizado porque comprende: (a) proporcionar un material de alimentacion que comprende un metal precioso, por lo menos aproximadamente 0,1% en peso de azufre en forma de sulfuro y de 0,3 a aproximadamente 10% en peso de materiales carbonosos; (b) oxidar por lo menos una porcion del azufre de los sulfuros del material de alimentacion para obtener un material oxidado, donde por lo menos la mayoría del oro y/o plata y de los materiales carbonosos permanece en el material de alimentacion oxidado; (c) subsecuentemente flotar el material de alimentacion oxidado para separar al material en una primera fraccion que contiene por lo menos la mayor parte del oro y/o plata y una segunda fraccion que contiene por lo menos aproximadamente el 25% de los materiales carbonosos del material de alimentacion; y (d) recuperar el oro y/o plata de la primera fraccion.
