AVOID SMEG APPLIANCES AT ALL COSTS! Fridge/freezer appliance lasted only just 4 years, costing £1200, would cost a further £400 to fix. Instead bought another appliance from a reputable manufactu... See more

Purchased a smeg microwave 8th April
Purchased a smeg microwave 8th April, finally arrived 22nd April after a back and fourth with smeg. Turned out to be faulty, they sent a technician who barely knew how to operate the microwave, fault continued they sent a second technician. It’s may 26th and smeg have refused a refund insisted on fault finding on our time, haven’t collected the unwanted microwave. Spoken to their customer service department so many times always passed around to be returned to the original handler and nothing is ever done until you call them to chase up update. I’m shocked at the level of service being offered for such a premium product. Will never purchase a smeg product again. Ordered a microwave from curry’s arrived next day and works perfectly fine.
Retro garbage
Really cool looking, we have a kettle and its been awesome. Mixer was crap from the start! No support, no service, no warranty! Now a boat anchor! 1+1/2 years for a $700.00 mixer! Do not buy this made in china cheap crap!
Smeg Blender worked twice. SMH!
Maybe the Smeg blender was designed by engineers who finished last in their graduating class. It looks nice, worked twice and after much back and forth with what I suspect was an AI agent, and $96 in replacement parts, it still leaks. I recommend Smeg implement massive improvement efforts across the value chain.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service,
Kettle lasted less then a year.
Didnt have a recipe since it was a gift..
smeg will not respect warranty.
I will never ever purchase another smeg product and you shouldn’t either.
Save your money blender last long 1 years
Save your money it Unfortunately blender it broke within the few months. Dont get scammed by smeg.
Bought a SMEG toaster and the middle…
Bought a SMEG toaster and the middle heat coils didn't work. Contacted them and they said because I didn't purchase it from an authorized dealer they would fix the issue. WHAT? They manufactured the product!! I'll never buy another product from them. Don't bother as they won't honor what they manufacture.
Purchased a SMEG hand mixer in 2022
Purchased a SMEG hand mixer in 2022. Loved the retro look and function until 2 months ago when I noticed one of the welds on one beater separated from the shaft. Needless to say, one year warranty doesn’t apply and SMEG would not replace one beater. Very overpriced! I will be sourcing another product and would not recommend SMEG for any appliance, big or small!
Smeg Kettle
Smeg Kettle has a large bubble on the side which is getting larger.
Would not expect this from such a high end appliance at its price point. Very disappointing.
Extremely disappointing never ever will buy anything
Extremely disappointing
The customer service does not exist
They never reply to you
All good reviews I assume are fake because it’s been one more iv been waiting for a refund , I had to open a chargeback , smeg said they have received my dispute they will refund me but still nothing after many weeks
Extremely rude customer service disgrace
I had the handle on my coffee maker…
I had the handle on my coffee maker break (the handle was defective) and I was told how to purchase a new one.
Maybe if the hot coffee burnt my hand I would have gotten somewhere!???
I bought a Smeg coffee machine last…
I bought a Smeg coffee machine last year, and it's been an absolute disaster from day one. This thing has broken down so reliably that we've now had to send it back three times for repairs.
But the real insult is Smeg's customer service, which is genuinely woeful, bordering on insulting. Their emails drip with rudeness and zero accountability. The last breakdown was the cherry on top, they scheduled a pickup with a laughable 8am–6pm "time slot." Yes, a full ten-hour window. I actually took a full day off work to accommodate their incompetence, and what a surprise, no one showed up. This farce happened twice. On the third attempt, they forced us to pay for shipping ourselves, then ghosted us, no confirmation the machine even arrived at their end.
Finally, out of nowhere, we get a curt email saying it's "fixed" and on its way back. No explanation of what was wrong, no answers to any of our repeated questions, just radio silence on the details we deserved.
This has been far and away the worst experience I've ever had with any brand. And glancing at Trustpilot and other review sites, it's painfully clear we're not alone, endless stories of unreliable products paired with dismissive, incompetent support seem to be Smeg's standard operating procedure.
Save yourself the hassle and the money. Steer well clear of Smeg in general. Once was more than enough, never again.
Smeg sucks
Not only their product sucks, also their customer service.
Don’t waste your money. This is coming from current Smeg owner.
They can’t even provide wiring translation in English and wouldn’t support you if you are out of warranty.
Stick to big brand names. I regret buying it
Bought a Smeg kettle two years ago
Bought a Smeg kettle two years ago, it worked well until recently the press button lid failed. The cost of this high end kettle was £120 so for it to fail so soon suprised me. It was just out of warranty. The company offered me another kettle for £79
Smeg 900mm PYROLITC electric induction Stove
I Purchased Smeg 900mm PYROLITC electric oven with 5 burner induction stovetop for $9,550 in January 2019. SMEG Model # AIPYID-6 Serial # 112070394.
Contacted Metropolitan Appliance Service (Perth West Australia) on Wednesday 4th February 2026 on-line advising 3 hotplates had shorted out and were flashing an E5 error message.
They booked a service call and on Monday 16th February a service technician attended our house. He spent about 5 minutes inspecting the stove and then advised that a part was faulty, and it required two new parts to be replaced. He said it would be expensive and was a two-person job. He then asked for $176 as a call out fee. He advised that the office would send me a quote.
The quote was received on Wednesday 18th February for a total of $4,625.
More than the cost of a new unit (another brand of course). My advice, stay away from Smeg
SMEG retro coffee pot - Poor Quality
SMEG retro coffee pot looks fantastic- poor design - poor quality for the money. The lid of the unit does not extend far enough back to fill the reservoir properly and the pot itself is if of poor quality (plastic handle). I replaced the pot (not standard size so you must purchase a SMEG replacement) and the same thing has happened. Now the coffeee maker won’t brew and goes to keep warm mode. Forget about contacting SMEG customer service - they do not respond. Too bad because when working, it makes great coffee and I love the look of the pot.
When Premium Positioning Doesn’t Match the Experience
I own several SMEG products and have always associated the brand with quality and premium standards.
My coffee machine, purchased in May 2025, required repair in less than a year. While the issue itself was unexpected, the after-sales experience was more disappointing.
Communication was inconsistent, and the machine was returned functional but with visible scratches and packaging open at the bottom creating unnecessary risk during transport.
Customer support’s response focused on procedures rather than accountability.
The machine is currently working, but the trust I once had in the brand has been affected.
SMEG Kettle stylish but lacks longevity.
if you want style buy a SMEG kettle. If you want quality and durability buy anything but SMEG. We upgrade, or so we thought, to SMEG for the style only to find out we d trade style for reliability. After five years we have to throw it out because it leaks and no longer safe to use.
Smeg personal bender ordered on Amazon
I purchased a personal Smeg bender on Amazon. The first one arrived damaged and I was able to return and order another. The second one stopped working after a month. The Amazon seller would not replace or repair. Lousy product and customer service and too expensive for a product that lasts a month!
SMEG drip coffee maker very bad even if it is cute on the counter
I purchased a SMEG drip coffee maker. It is very poorly designed and drips water out of the back every time I use it. I called SMEG and they were very nasty and talked in circles. They never answered any questions directly and continued to be very nasty and condescending. It seems that they said a certain amount of water normally does leak out of the top vents. I am taking all my SMEG products back to the store. They are cute but they are very poorly designed and the company is very nasty.
NO new switch for me, I'll be switching to another manufacturer!!
My problem is the switch NOT staying down which it seems is well known in the industry so how do Smeg get away with it; selling as they do high end products with low end components? My kettle is just over two years old and obviously gets no abuse whatsoever.
The switch can be replaced but interestingly those who have done it highlight the cheap generic problematic Chinese parts that Smeg uses which really CHEAP KETTLE manufacturers ALSO USE so again it begs the question why?
Do an online search and make your own mind up!!
This kettle is currently £135 - £150 in UK which is a scandalous price for such an unreliable product which they ARE AWARE OFF BUT REFUSE TO ADDRESS!!
If you do buy it haggle for the extended warranty (don't pay extra!!) as the kettle WILL LET YOU DOWN!!
Better still buy a different product as Smeg obviously couldn't care less!! You have been warned.
