It is hardly functioning

It is hardly functioning, fails to open for approval, especially while one is abroad. It seems deliberate, as it eventually opens after several attempts, although the app is updated.
Disgusting policy!

mitid.dk virker ikke, og de kræver login med mitid for at oprette en supportsag. Hvordan kan man logge ind og oprette en supportsag, hvis det ikke virker?

Third world service in a first world country

There are no options if your phone stops working (e.g. the battery starts leaking) if your passport is not supported. You just have to go 3 weeks without access to your bank account until borger service have an appointment. Shocking service for a first world country. No emergency contingency options.

This is worst app in the world

This is worst app in the world. I needed to sign something and it wanted the shitty QR code with camera. I only had my phone so nothing could be done. I ended up driving all the way home again to find a computer to do this. This is really the worst of the worst. Please fix and stop with the QR stuff.

This could not be any worse.

This app and process cannot be any worse. They offer face authentication as a login method, but then you are forced to use your ID everytime. I forgot my ID as I assumed I could use my face ID, as a result I need to visit an in-person office to prove I am who I am in order to receive access to my code. I am a Swedish citizen, and therefore cant use their "reset ID number" on the app. Worst experience ever.

I absolutely love MitID

I absolutely love MitID. Living abroad and travelling a lot, to.many different countries, that doesn't have a high level of security, MitID makes it safe for me to use.

So much easier than the NemId we had before.

I have never had any problems with MitID and I would recommend all Danish people to get MitID

I am Danish citizens living abroad I…

I am Danish citizens living abroad I change phone without, copy to the new iphone my bad. so I just do with passport everything good so far, and activation almost there each time. But I do not receive any sms with a activation code. Yes I live abroad 10500 km so I just just swing by because of a app. It is the peak arrogance from a government. At least if you want to do full 1984 Orwell then do it right so it at least works. Basically every complain from people is it doesn't work it just doesn't work. This company is so bad the developer of this app has to be 5 years old. And still it has no fix I see many complains in these reviews that goes more than a year back !!! Still no fix HELOOOOOOOO MitID you there or is the abandoned.

Unusable without google android or IOS

They force users to rely on Google store or Apple store to offer their service. A service pretty much mandatory for any citizen in Denmark. Relying exclusively on 2 major US corporations notorious for misusing their customer data. I'm using murena e/OS which doesn't use google play services, and the app says my phone cannot work. Please make your service available to your users without relying on US corporations.

Useless

I'm trying to log in using Mitid, and it wants me to scan a qr code on my phone screen, with my phone camera. That's going to be a little bit difficult. There's is no was to get around it, and there is only one other option, which takes 24 hours to enable. Completely ridiculous.

A Total Joke and a Complete Waste of Taxpayer Money

If I could give one piece of advice, it would be to avoid MitID at all costs. The problem is, if you live in Denmark, you're completely trapped by this system. This has to be one of the worst-designed services on the planet. I deleted my dad's MitID app because it was so glitchy, thinking I could just reinstall it. Boy, was I wrong. You can't reactivate it from home without a current, valid passport, and his, of course, was expired. The only other option is to show up in person at a government service center.

Here's the problem: my dad just had surgery and has limited mobility, so making that trip just isn't possible for him. You literally cannot function in Denmark without this thing. Get locked out, and you're cut off from your own bank account. I also accidentally removed his MobilePay app, and now that's useless too since it needs MitID to log in. We're talking about everything - your internet bill, your phone plan - it's all locked behind this single, faulty key.

Sure, the government has a program where someone can come to your home to help, but the waitlist is weeks long. In the meantime, you're completely cut off. The Danish government shoves this awful service down your throat but offers no real support when its flaws trap you. What a complete waste of taxpayer money. It’s like the bottle return system: you’re required to do it, but the machines are always out of order, so you’re stuck. It’s a joke. One star for this junk is too generous - it deserves a big fat zero. And a word of warning to anyone outside of Denmark who thinks this sounds efficient: you have no clue what a mess you'd be getting into.

I wrote to Digitaliseringsstyrelsen as…

I wrote to Digitaliseringsstyrelsen as the app on my phone, all of sudden got stuck, wherever I started up MitID. This started to happen after the "latest" update which came in all the way back in the end of November 2024. It's been almost four months now, and not a single update has seen the day's light ever since back then.

According to the Digitaliseringsstyrelsen:

løsninger end at skifte sprog.

In other words, it's probably the only app that exists in the entire world which is not able to start up when a non-italic language is the system language. And they have no hopes of even being able to fix that for the foreseeable future.

I even tried to follow their advice that unfortunately did not fix the problem. I suspect that is because not all the app names automatically changed their names back to Italic. It would require me to reset the phone and not to use any non-italic language for it to work. Which in 2025 is completely unacceptable...

truly dreadful...just like last time last year …

truly dreadful...just like last time last year when I first tried to set it up. I live in France, have a CPR number, have family in DK and would like to access my Danish account and see e-boks mail reg. tax/pensions as I visit Copenhagen in the last week of March. My original setting up last year took weeks, literally, and then one day suddenly, I do not know why, it suddenly worked! No such luck so far this time...just the same the same palaver. Works all the way to the photo scan (final step) when "error occurred" happens...again and again...I have even cancelled the app and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. So here I am again, have forgotten my pincode, and it looked as if it would be easy enough to reset....but no...and am genuinely screwed as far as essential admin stuff from DK needs responding to. I have made an appointment with Borger Service (which, fortunately, is not overwhelmed with complainants this time) and I still keep hoping that I can complete this process myself.. .so I can use my Danish bank card when I go off to DK...seems so little to ask....seems like a basic human right. I have another bank as I am British-French (EU) but nothing compares to MiTD frustrations.....infuriating...

Highly Destructive App for foreigners

Highly Destructive App for foreigners. estimated cost of 25K Euro attempting to install as a foreigner. 5 Visits to Denmark. 300 Hours of liaison. Major factor in closing a company. 6 Month without access to banks, Skat, etc. Software developers admitted it was defective. Nobody in MITID would take responsibility.

Can't reactivate after phone stolen

My wife's phone was stolen and she can't reactivate MitID with her US passport. The only option is to go to Citizen Services but we don't live in Denmark anymore. Since MitID is everywhere, she can't access her bank account and taxes for last year.

I don't know why the government spend so much money on a new solution when NemID was better and had backup codes.

MitID... a preschool experiment

OK, I allowed myself to upgrade my 5 year old Samsung phone, because the sim-card reader didn't work anymore. Alas, I should've just stayed on the old phone and accepted not being able to make calls anymore... MitID's ID transfer function simply does NOT work. What the hell is wrong with you people at MitID? I wait for 60 minutes 2 f...... times because your shoddy app decides to crash and restart. Second time I get all the way to trying to scan the QR-code, but for some asinine reason the code keeps shifting, so it's impossible to scan. Then I try to just rescan my passport, which didn't work the 2 first times and then when it finally worked and the app tells me to wait for an SMS, I don't receive anything. MitID... try hiring some real programmers and fire that bunch of bozos sucking the life force out of ordinary people with their blatant lack of programming skills. GET THIS SORTED OUT NOW!!!
