O meu seguro deveria cobrir Portugal e Espanha. Um fim de semana em Espanha tive que ir ao hospital por uma emergência e liguei para o apolo ao cliente que só funciona de segunda a sexta das 9 às 17h… descobri que tinha convênio com um dos hospitais disponíveis, onde fui. Após o regresso, apesar de ter disponibilizado toda a informação necessária, só colocaram problemas e nunca consegui recuperar o dinheiro gasto: mais de 300€!

My insurance was supposed to cover both Portugal and Spain. One weekend in Spain, that I had to go to the hospital for an emergency, called customer care that only works from monday to friday 9-5pm… found out on internet that have agreement with one of hospitals available to which I went. After returning, despite providing all necessary and asked information, I only faced problems and could never recover the money back: over 300€!

Incredibly bad. Makes you lose your time on many fronts. Spams you with paper mail and no (obvious) way to opt out despite their sayings.

They allegedly cover medical expenses abroad, but, in reality and in my experience, they never actually do, they always either demand more information or reject the claim outright. They made my partner return to the hospital abroad during the pandemic and pay for documentation in English, then refused to cover the hospital expenses by considering them consultation expenses and requiring more (arguably impossible and unnecessary) documentation in English despite multiple supporting documentation in English and the insurance policy covering hospitalization. They advertise solidarity, not leaving anyone behind, not having medical questionnaires, and not excluding pre-existing diseases, yet require written justification describing the reason for the change and subject it to technical risk assessment and acceptance if you wish to change plans. Also, the online form to upload expenses keeps throwing errors. Everything seems designed to make it impossible for you to get any compensation.
