Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 174 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report abysmal and unresponsive customer service, struggling to get help or resolve issues. Many found the platform's user experience frustrating, clunky, and overly complex, making simple tasks challenging and wasting time. Reviewers widely criticize the pricing structure, describing it as having escalating costs and unexpected fee increases, making the service expensive. However, some customers noted a clean and easy-to-navigate user interface compared to competitors. A few also felt it is a good CRM for startups and small businesses, offering useful and thoughtfully integrated features. Some found the tools effective once understood, helping their teams work smarter.

HubSpot has become one of the most…

HubSpot has become one of the most frustrating CRMs I have ever used.

It is clunky, overcomplicated, and not seamless at all. There always seems to be a new beta test, a new feature, or another change that makes the platform harder to navigate instead of easier. Information feels scattered all over the place, and simple tasks often take far more steps than they should.

For the cost, I expected a much cleaner and more intuitive experience. Instead, it feels expensive, complicated, and difficult to manage. Once you are locked in, it feels like you are stuck dealing with a system that is constantly changing but not necessarily improving.

Overall, HubSpot may work for some companies, but my experience has been poor. It is too much to navigate, too expensive, and one of the worst CRM experiences I have had.

Read the small print and lock-in carefully!!

I wish I read the reviews before believing their extremely push sales agent! Is there a company that is worse at listening to customers than this one? A three year lock in that auto renews at increased prices and you cannot cancel.. despite a "Cancel Anytime" assurance and statement that just means you can cancel but we will still charge!!!!!! A price increase alert in email in scores of spammy upselling ones, you missed that? you are locked in for another year! What the hell!!

Simply Hubspot is the synonymous to the Strait of Hormuz of softwares! Incredibly poor customer service with most of their team incomprehensible or totally out to lunch even on basic features. Avoid talking to their support office in Singapore - total waste of time. Every inquiry turns into an task in engineering and expect response to include an encyclopedia of documents to have to read thru. Do not be tempted by their professional sales team or presentations...if you buy it, what follows is pure agony

Complete corporate lock in nightmare

Look, trying to migrate our pipelines out of a bloated dinosaur of a CRM at 3 AM from my flat in birmingham is an absolute recipe for a massive headache. They bury basic automation features behind unexpected, aggressive paywalls and lock you into predatory contracts while their sales reps relentlessly spam inbox. The moment you try to leave, they block your data exports under the guise of security, proving it's just a rigid trap designed to kill engineering flexibility.

Pay $25,000 for your subscription received no services and a bill for $7000 for on boarding. Absolute scam of service. 45 days later they said we are 1/2 way through a year subscription and the can't do anything.
Fighting to get a refund.

Hubspot is an outdated CRM

Outdated, overpriced, generic, dinosaur of the CRM.

With all the no-code solutions on the market. Hubspot has become a dinosaur overnight. We are paying 800 AUD per month because they claim to have us in a contract.

Don't do it to yourself. Build a customised CRM solution tailored to your business's needs at a fraction of the cost.

Avoid HubSpot if you value your time and flexibility

Avoid HubSpot if you value your time and money. They will find every opportunity to upsell you - constant emails pushing Marketing Hub, Content Hub, more seats, more "value" - but the moment you want to leave, it's a completely different story

We asked to cancel our subscription and were told we're locked into a 12-month contract and can't cancel early. Fine, contracts are contracts. But then we were told that a "Contract Manager" will only reach out 2-3 months before the renewal date to discuss options - meaning even confirming you don't want to renew isn't straightforward, you have to wait for them to get round to you

The platform itself gives you no flexibility either. Even trying to export your own data is a nightmare - constant MFA codes, and then it just blocks you outright saying they've stopped you "for security", so it genuinely feels like they're deliberately making it difficult to access your own data

It feels deliberately designed to make leaving as slow and difficult as possible, while making it as easy as possible for them to keep upselling you

Charged for nearly every basic function, locked in for a year at a time, and no straightforward way to walk away when you've had enough

Would not recommend for any business that values flexibility or straightforward billing

HubSpot collected and is sharing my professional data without my consent, claiming “legitimate interest” for marketing purposes. I never opted in, yet my data is being used and sold for commercial targeting. This raises serious GDPR and ePrivacy concerns, especially regarding unsolicited marketing and lack of clear control over my data. Unacceptable data practices.

THE most aggressive Sales people I have ever experienced. Won't stop cold calling and emailing me (alongside several other people in my team) despite asking them (repeatedly!) to stop. They don't take no for an answer.

Listen to every other 1-star review on…

Listen to every other 1-star review on here unless you're happy to keep adding more services just to get what you actually signed up for to work (we're on a paid plan not the free version).

Everything is hidden behind a paywall. Signed up to Service Hub? Don't expect to be able to send automated ticket follow-ups (beyond ticket created and closed).

Want to follow up to see if a customer still needs help on their ticket (transactional service email)... don't be silly you need to pay for Marketing Hub to send automated emails on Service Hub.

Because who wants to Service their customers - I've at least learnt that emailing a customer on their ticket is actually marketing. At least in Hubspot's dictionary it is.

Service Hub isn't fit for purpose. Nowhere was this mentioned in the sales process, nor is it mentioned ANYWHERE on the pricing page. 5000 email templates, sequences... but not that you'll need to double your subscription cost to add Marketing Hub to actually run basic functions on Service Hub.

This company is an absolute CON.

I'm not doubling the agreed fee to send automated emails I can send on my $15 a month system.

Your sales team were surprised it wasn't possible (they should know this if they're selling your product) and your AI assistant also agreed it should be included (might want to add some guardrails about what it's allowed to way).

Avoid this company like the plague.

Fails to link with Outlook

Mickey mouse company in that they require their own authenticator app to link Hubspot to Outlook, and you now have to do it every day and it just doesn't work. Hence if you subscribe to Hubspot, just know it does not link with outlook properly.

Still cannot connect to iCal

We are a Hubspot customer. For all the features and upsells, they still cannot connect to iCal. Sooooo irritating. We couldn't care less about new features coming out, when they can't cover the basics
