1 star is a compliment
When you see a company having 1 star reviews from hundreds of people you don´t need to know much more. Pretty much everyone that needs ANY help from them ends up being frustrated, confused but never ever ever satisfied.
Worst company ever, if companies like that continue operating, people might stop buying cars one day
Terrible customer treatment
Terrible customer treatment.
I have been a customer of Helvetia for less than 1 year. I received a one-time discount, but was not informed that I should cancel the subscription within 3 months of end of the first year, otherwise they will automatically lock you in for another 12 months at +15 % price increase.
I am very disappointed with them, they treat customers like they don't matter, and I cannot recommend them to anybody. STAY AWAY.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. I have insurance with them, and they don’t provide any information or answer to any email. I complete don’t recommend them.
Dreadful customer services
Oh, this insurance company is bad. Really bad.
I've lived in Switzerland for 19 years. I've had car insurance every year, and I've never made a single claim. Ever.
In England, I would have a "No-claims bonus" which I could transfer from company to company, and they would recognise this as being proof that I'm a low-risk client.
In Switzerland, it's the opposite.
Last year, Helvetia charged me 641 CHF for my car insurance. Since then, I've made no claims. Yet this year, it's 100 CHF more expensive.
But it gets worse.
I signed up for my car insurance with them in January 2025 for one year.
Three months later, in April 2025, they quietly sent me a new document, saying, actually, I was tied in to this contract for THREE years. I'm sorry, WHAT ?!!
In November 2025, they eventually sent me a Premium statement for 2026, which was too high, so I asked to cancel, but their dreadful customer services said, nope, you needed to give three months notice.
So... you need to give 3 months notice, but Helvetia themselves won't tell you how much the next year's policy will be until about 6 weeks before the end of the year...?!
Is this even legal ? Next year, they could send me an invoice with a Dr Evil statement asking for one miiiiilion CHFs...
They are truly a dreadful company.
Stay (very) far away.
You've been warned.
I've sent a letter to their CEO to complain.
I'll update my review if/when he replies.

The worst insurance company I ever used
They rejected every valid claim I made and it's taking over 4 months to go through the cancellation process. I had to make 3 different confirmation documents to cancel all while they still take money out my bank. Avoid this useless service
Misled and stuck with a costly product that is now unusable
My experience with Castelan Group, acting on behalf of Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd as their agent, has been incredibly disappointing, highlighting serious flaws in both their customer service and claims process.
I purchased a Sofashield Platinum Insurance Policy through Sofology, underwritten by Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd, to cover accidental damage and structural defects for my recliner chair. When the chair’s motor failed and became stuck in the reclined position, I submitted a claim, trusting the policy would provide the peace of mind it was marketed to deliver. To my dismay, the claim was denied, with Castelan Group attributing the damage to misuse—specifically claiming the chair’s arm had touched the wall.
This reasoning completely ignored the advice I was given by Sofology at the point of sale, which assured me that side contact with a wall would not be an issue. Despite raising this with Castelan, they refused to engage with Sofology or conduct a thorough investigation. Instead, they placed the burden of proof on me, expecting me to obtain technical evidence from the retailer. This is wholly unreasonable, especially given Castelan’s close relationship with Sofology, as well as their role in administrating claims on behalf of Helvetia.
To make matters worse, the technician sent by Castelan to inspect the chair actually left it in a worse state. The motor was disabled, and the chair was cable-tied shut, leaving me with an entirely unusable product. Despite this, neither Castelan nor Helvetia has taken responsibility or shown any willingness to resolve the matter fairly.
The lack of accountability, refusal to consider evidence, and dismissive attitude towards the customer’s experience are completely unacceptable. Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd should seriously reconsider how claims are managed by their agent, Castelan Group, as their current practices undermine the trust customers place in their policies.
If you are considering an insurance policy underwritten by Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd or administered by Castelan Group, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. Their approach to resolving claims is both frustrating and ineffective, offering little of the peace of mind they promise.
Aggressive customer practices (IMO illegalh)
Terrible insurance with aggressive practices. They do not respect their customer the slightest. Go away. My particular bad experience was with their 3a pillar product, opaque and locking you for 30 years in an endless vortex of draining you of your money, without you being able to leave.

TESLA OWNERS NEVER BUY THIS!
1500 EUROS for 2 extra years and 40.000 extra km. Sounds like it would be smart, but I just had the smallest component that needed change (inside charging port) - not a maintenance part.
It was a 150 euro fix, but that they didn’t even cover!
They promise “extended warranty of electronic and mechanical issues” but this is just a huge scam!
Never have I ever spend 1500 euros on something worse!!!

The guy named Lukas Stebler working for Helvetia Claim center has been threatening me verbally. This has nothing to do with unfriendliness. This goes beyond human respect.
Customer service was really rude
Customer service was really rude, extremely disappointed. I was asking for help, all she kept saying was „it is NORMAL that you have to do this and that“. I will definitely cancel my insurance. I would prefer to use other service.
Bad company
My personal contact does not respond to my claim request and the main line contact rejected the claim despite it being covered by my contract.
Outrageous "État des lieux"
Recently I moved out of an appartment rented by this company.
My experience during the control of the state of the appartment was just outrageous. The appartment was perfectly clean, the new tenants of the appartment that were also present during the inspection agreed too. However, the agent from the company was utterly disrespectful and belittled the clean we had done at each step. Not only that but he did scam us on the balcony state. He one-sidedly decided, without letting us the opportunity to clean the tiles on the balcony that had wax stains, that they had to be completely replaced. One hundred CHF for each tile, at first he said that only two needed to be replaced. But then he said that he was also going to add six more that were slightly dirty (It had rained recently and we were not able to clean them since we did not think it was necessary being an exterior part of the appartment). He then proceeded to say, on his own words: "Well, let's round it up to 1000 CHF from the 800, just in case.". I strongly recommend to never rent an appartment with this company.
We lived in that appartment for three years. It took them months to open up the holes in the rails to be able to put the curtains. And after three years they expected the appartment to be in better conditions than those that we received it. Furthermore, their rent system forces you to notice them that you are leaving 3 to 6 months before the renewing the lease. And they will not be the ones looking for new tenants when you notice them. In our case, even though we found plenty of suitable candidates they refused to accept any of them forcing us to keep paying for the appartment and only accepted the new tenants because they knew that after that we wouldn't have any reason to do their job and look for new candidates since it was the last month we were forced to pay for the appartment by contract.
Impossible to cancel agreement
Impossible to cancel agreement on time. No easy way to do it. Agreement is prolonged automatically. Hard to reach support. People in support are arrogant. After agreement was finally cancelled, had to pay additional amount for reason they didn't explain.
Unbelievable!
We sold our apartment in August 2022 and therfore cancelled the insurance with Helvetia. Then came the shock! We were then informed that it is Helvetia's policy not to refund prepaid premiums. Unbelievable!
If you are considering insuring with Helvetia - be warned!
