They practice racism. I am from Iraq, and my company is based in Singapore. A year ago, I tried to open an account with them, but they kept giving me the runaround—failing to send the OTP (one-time password) required to complete the setup. I tried using several different phone numbers, but eventually, I just gave up. Then, yesterday, I attempted to open a payment management account, again under my Singaporean company’s name. The account was initially opened and placed "under review," but shortly after—without any justification, and despite there being no policy prohibiting Iraqis—they banned my account, stating that the ban was "permanent and not subject to review." Just imagine: I have no negative history with them, and I’ve done nothing wrong. It’s clear that this company is driven by racism; dealing with them feels like interacting with immature teenagers. I honestly don’t know how people can entrust their money to them. They seem to exist solely to trample on others—which explains why thousands of people have given them such poor ratings—yet they remain completely indifferent. ( airest.ai )

Airwallex is a highly unreliable company. I have a newly established small business in Europe and wanted to open a business account with them. My first application was rejected, and they told me it was because I only provided my passport and not an ID card. So, I specially traveled back to China to get my ID card and uploaded it, only for them to reject it again and refuse to open the account. This time, they didn't even give a reason for the rejection. It's truly disgusting.

Our funds have been held by Airwallex for 15 days, and despite repeated requests, we have received no response from their support team. they are ghosting us.
The situation is urgent: we have a critically ill patient, and every day of delay matters. Airwallex claims client funds are safeguarded, so why haven't they been released, and why is no one able to give us an explanation or a timeline?
After days of silence, I'm starting to doubt Airwallex's reliability. We are now considering escalating the matter to the relevant regulatory authority.
Until this is resolved, we cannot recommend Airwallex to any business that may need timely access to its own money.
Guys never do , they hold my founds and every day I’m sending them emails , and same responses ( we are busy with processing) , this is unfair and they distribute my business

This company has absolutely no regard for its customers. It likely consists of just two or three employees, plus some artificial intelligence. I read reviews about this company—they are all negative—and I honestly don’t understand how it’s still in business.
I wasn’t even able to reach their customer support. I’m very glad I realized in time that this company is unreliable and not at all customer-focused.
I wish I read reviews on here before going through all the effort of collecting documents and going through the registration process!
Vague reasons for refusal and all inquiries are handled by an "AI" chat bot
My business account application was denied without any valid reason.poor company which is not bothered about new customers

We have been using Airwallex for almost four years for our European business, and I can confidently say that their customer support has been one of the most disappointing aspects of our experience.
If you operate a company in Estonia, think very carefully before relying on Airwallex for your everyday business banking.
Over the years, we have experienced several serious problems with basic banking operations.
For example, payments to Estonian government institutions, including licence fees and other official payments, were repeatedly declined without any meaningful explanation. These are ordinary transactions that local Estonian banks handle every day.
We also experienced problems making payments using invoice numbers and Estonian reference numbers, which are standard in Estonia. This issue dragged on for almost three years and was only resolved after we escalated our complaints seriously.
Now we are facing another major issue.
Our customers, many of whom have been paying us regularly for years, are suddenly receiving beneficiary-name mismatch warnings when attempting to transfer money to our Airwallex account.
We spent days investigating the problem ourselves, contacted numerous customers, collected screenshots and transaction records, and personally spoke with senior representatives at SEB and Swedbank, two of Estonia's largest banks.
Both banks took the time to investigate and reproduce the verification mismatch. We even reproduced the same problem using Airwallex's own payment system.
We provided Airwallex with all this evidence and repeatedly asked them to investigate the root cause.
And what did their support team do?
They kept sending generic replies suggesting that Estonian banks might not recognize the letter Ü in our company name.
This is absurd. Ü is part of the Estonian alphabet, and OÜ is the standard legal designation for private limited companies in Estonia. More importantly, we demonstrated that the same warning appears even without the special character.
The most frustrating part is how their support team handles serious incidents. Instead of taking ownership, escalating the matter to the responsible technical department, and investigating properly, agents appear more interested in giving superficial answers and closing the matter.
A serious banking incident cannot be resolved by a customer service agent repeating that everything looks correct on their screen.
What makes this experience even worse is that SEB and Swedbank, where we are not even direct customers, were willing to spend time investigating and explaining the issue. Our own financial service provider, which we have trusted for almost four years, has not demonstrated the same commitment.
I understand that technical problems can happen. What I cannot accept is the lack of accountability, the repeated failure to address the evidence provided, and the apparent absence of effective escalation.
My advice to other business owners: never make your company entirely dependent on a financial service provider whose support team cannot properly handle serious payment incidents.
When your company needs to pay taxes, salaries, suppliers, or collect money from customers, you need competent people who take responsibility, not endless generic customer service responses.
After nearly four years, our confidence in Airwallex has been seriously damaged.
Unreliable service, extremely disappointing support, and a completely unacceptable approach to resolving serious banking problems.

This is not a reputable provider and would discourage anyone from using Airwallex as a transaction platform (the 2.8 stars should be a clear indicator).
Customer service is horrible and mostly bots and if humans, they cut and paste generic responses over and over.
Their rules are opaque on who can access the platform and unless the business is generating significant revenue (USD1m+), Airwallex will string you along and then deny you/ revoke access without any explanation.

The whole platform is over-engineered. It takes a simple job like sending and receiving money and makes it complicated.
Many of the international companies we work with wouldn’t connect to Airwallex or accept funds from it. Our bank couldn’t verify the account details. When we needed help there was no one to talk to.
It’s confusing to use, unreliable in practice and unsupported when it goes wrong. Don’t bother.

Business funds still withheld, with no clear answers or meaningful communication
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Airwallex (UK) Limited.
My business, BERKS CARE UK LIMITED, has had its account restricted for a prolonged period, and I am still waiting for a clear update and the release of my funds. Despite repeated attempts to contact customer support, I have not received a satisfactory explanation or a clear timeline for when my funds will be returned.
Airwallex previously confirmed in writing that my international transfer of £9,550 to Thailand had been cancelled and the full amount credited back to my account on 22 May 2026. However, my account remains frozen, and I am still seeking a clear resolution regarding access to my business funds.
What makes this situation even more frustrating is the lack of effective communication. My emails appear to be blocked or met with automated responses that do not properly address my concerns. As a business owner, I need real answers, meaningful communication, and transparency—not repeated generic replies while my funds remain inaccessible.
I understand that financial institutions must carry out compliance checks, but customers and businesses should not be left for months without clear information about their money or a realistic timeline for resolution.
I am asking Airwallex to:
Provide a clear, substantive update on the status of my funds.
Confirm exactly what is happening with my account balance.
Explain when my funds will be released or returned.
Ensure that my complaint is handled by a person who can provide a meaningful response.
My complaint has also been referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service under reference PNX-6029652-F1N5.
I hope Airwallex takes this matter seriously and resolves it urgently. I simply want a clear answer about my business funds and a fair resolution after such a long wait.
UPDATE – DAY 15: STILL NO SOLUTION!
It has now been 15 days since Airwallex restricted my US LLC business account, leaving approximately $20,000 USD completely inaccessible.
Despite numerous emails, support tickets, and a previous Trustpilot review, Airwallex has failed to provide any meaningful progress, explanation, or estimated resolution date.
After my previous public complaint, Airwallex responded that my case had been flagged as urgent. However, nothing has changed.
I recently received another response from Emily at Airwallex Customer Support, confirming:
"Your account is still restricted and remains under review. Transfers and withdrawals remain unavailable while the restriction is active."
That is essentially the same response I have been receiving for over two weeks.
How is a business supposed to operate when $20,000 is frozen indefinitely without any clear communication?
I understand that financial institutions have compliance obligations, but that does not excuse the continued lack of meaningful updates or transparency about the next steps.
This situation has severely disrupted my business operations, and I am no longer willing to accept endless generic responses.
If Airwallex does not provide a satisfactory resolution or a clear process for returning my funds, I intend to pursue legal action and escalate the matter through the appropriate regulatory channels.
I am requesting immediate attention from senior management and the compliance team.
Ticket #1705782 – Day 15, still unresolved.
I will continue documenting my experience and updating this review until my funds are released or the matter is properly resolved.
I am extremely frustrated with Airwallex UK Limited. My account is being offboarded and I was given a 1-month grace period to withdraw my balance before my dashboard login is permanently deactivated.
Because I do not have an external bank account matching my Airwallex registered entity name, I followed Airwallex's official policy and replied to my offboarding manager with a nominated third-party bank account for a manual refund.
It has now been 14 days. I have sent 3 polite follow-ups every few days, and I have received absolute silence. Meanwhile, I have only about 16 days left before I am locked out of my dashboard entirely. Airwallex is effectively trapping my funds by letting this clock run out without processing my manual withdrawal.
Please someone look into my case .

Latest update on my ticket id :
My issue is still not resolved. My account is locked, and Airwallex is refusing to release my remaining funds. They denied my request to transfer my final balance directly to my creditor to clear an outstanding invoice.
The capital purely belongs to me, and I cannot afford to lose it simply because I don’t have a secondary bank account for this entity. I have already provided full transparency, including the creditor's invoice, their bank confirmation letter, and a hand-signed letter of debt settlement.
I am not bypassing protocols; I am trying to pay a legitimate business debt with my own money. I need a senior manager or compliance supervisor to review my documentation and approve this payout exception immediately. I will gladly update this review once my funds are released.

**Stay away from Airwallex. Complete waste of time!**
I had a really disappointing experience with Airwallex and honestly wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking to open a business account.
I applied for an account for my legitimate US LLC, and their onboarding process was ridiculously long and frustrating. They ask all sorts of detailed and private questions about your business, request a lot of information, and make the whole process far more complicated than it needs to be.
After spending all that time answering their questions and providing everything they asked for, they simply rejected my application without giving me any reason. No follow-up, no request for additional documents, nothing. Just a generic rejection email.
What annoyed me the most was that they actually mentioned in their email that their decision was made through a "fair" process. How is that fair when you don't even give applicants a chance to clarify anything or provide additional information if something is missing? At least tell people what the issue is instead of making them waste their time going through the entire process for nothing.
The funny thing is that I also applied to Wise around the same time, and **they approved my business account on the very same day lol**
I get that banks and financial companies have compliance requirements and can't approve everyone, but the way Airwallex handles this is just terrible. If you're going to ask people for that much sensitive business information and make them go through such a lengthy process, the least you can do is communicate properly.
I'm actually glad I applied to Wise at the same time, otherwise I would have wasted even more time.
**My advice is to avoid Airwallex and look elsewhere. Their onboarding process is a nightmare, their communication is terrible, and they don't seem to have much respect for people's time.**
Definitely wouldn't recommend them.

They refused my application without telling me what the reason for refusing it is. Their ai or bot system doesn't work, it blocked me because i was using codex to help me navigate their website, then they refused my ein that I got from IRS few days ago and then they ai refused my passport and selfie video verification, then their manual team refused me without saying why. WTF? Im a real person with legit business, I don't get why are they being like that?
Reply from Airwallex
They are scam.
They put me on their paid plan automatically on sign up and after my trial period ended, they charged me instead of downgrading to basic,
AVOID such a payment gateway at all cost.
Reply from Airwallex
Most payments are being held and documentation required. Even when documentation are submitted in form of purchase agreements or contracts, payments are rejected with no explanation except "Risk".
How can you run a business if you never know if you can pay your suppliers.
Reply from Airwallex
Account restricted for absolutely no reason, when i needed it the most. Unfortunately their solution can't be recommended and is unreliable, as the opposite of other bigger actors such as Wise. Customer service is not helpful in this regard at all, so us a s clients are not served at all infortunately. The platform has potential but they should hire people to seriously review the accounts, as my business is 100% legit.

Extremely frustrating experience – almost no meaningful support
We have been trying to resolve an ongoing issue with Airwallex and Klarna for days, if not weeks, and the level of support has been extremely disappointing.
The biggest frustration is that we keep receiving Goods Not Received cases through Klarna, including cases where parcels are demonstrably still in transit, delayed by the carrier, or where a customer has initiated a return that we have not even received back yet.
At the same time, we are unable to properly respond to certain cases or submit our tracking information, delivery evidence, customer communication or return information.
We have repeatedly contacted support about this. Instead of someone actually taking ownership of the problem, we keep receiving similar generic responses, requests for more screenshots and requests for information, while the underlying issue remains unresolved.
Meanwhile, the Klarna warning remains visible during checkout, directly affecting customer confidence and our business.
As a merchant, I should not have to practically beg my payment provider to investigate an issue that is actively affecting our ability to process payments and serve customers. A payment provider should be a supporting partner when problems arise, not another obstacle we have to fight through.
We are doing everything we can on our side: handling customers, following up with carriers, processing refunds and returns, improving fulfilment and trying to reduce disputes. But those efforts become incredibly frustrating when we cannot get meaningful assistance from the provider responsible for the payment infrastructure.
At this point, I simply want someone at Airwallex to take ownership of the case, properly investigate what is happening with our Klarna account, explain why we cannot respond to these cases, and provide a concrete path toward resolving the warning.
Unfortunately, so far, that level of support has not been provided.
