It is relatively easy to book a hotel with the Trivago website. Their confirmation email arrived shortly afterwards. That said, 4 weeks later, on the day just before check-in, I contacted the hotel directly to confirn the booking, only to be told that they could not find it.

I had to contact Trivago and they in turn contacted the hotel to sort that out. I took me 10 minutes on the phone to get through to Trivago. They in turn took another 15 minites yo sort out the booking with the hotel, not too bad.

Just to add, the hotel concerned is Thristle London Park Lane. Upon arrival they upgraded us to the bigger Cumberland Hotel next block for free.

Nice and easy in getting a travel insurance quote with medical conditon.

The price is quite reasonable too.

The birthday cake was nicely prepared, even allowed a minor writing addition.

The cake could be a little pricey, but worth it for special occasions.

A useful service to engage with relevant tradesmen. I am impressed by their efforts to follow up my job request and request for further quotes when the initial responses were slow to come forward.

Nice and easy

Kew Gardens is a surprisingly huge open place to visit for families. There are thousands if not millions of indoors and outdoors plants, gigantic trees, and even vegetables to see. There are great children playing areas for kids who can easily spend the whole day there. The treetop viewing areas can be reached by a lift or stairs for the adventurous. Dining areas, chairs, restrooms can be found dotted around the site. Just put on walking shoes, a hat and plenty of suncream if visiting on a sunny day.

A good service received in a recent incident of an escape of water. Having identified the source of the leak and isolated it, I reported the incident to Corgi, they arranged a local plumber to visit us in two days' time and replaced the leaky joint.

The only slight imperfection is that I received no notice of the date of the plumber visit until I phoned up corgi again on the following day to check. The plumber was probably too tired up on the day and forgot to contact me when they missed the morning session 9-12 and arrived after 2pm. Nevertheless, the plumber rectified the leaky joint in 20 minutes very efficiently.
