Horrible people.
I have been with Tryg for many years, at times, dealing with them has been smooth, but all too often, they obfuscate, and use bureaucracy to deny the coverage you rightfully pay for, while stretching cases out for months to wear your patience down.
Four months ago I had my bike stolen from my courtyard. I filed a report to get its cost covered. I used the wrong term in an email to describe the unique frame number stamped into the bottom bracket of the bike, literally a synonym, and they denied my claim, stating that I did not supply a frame number. I have been fighting it for months, and keep getting passed around the company to no avail.
If this is the sort of top qulality service you want behind you in an emergency, then by all means, sign up. I'm quitting Tryg after this, because one day something far more serious than a stolen bike could befall my family, and I don't want to have to think of how exposed I'll be in the aftermath.

It takes ages for case to be paid out
It takes ages for cases to be paid out with Tryg. I went through several damages months ago and some of the cases are still not processed.
I constantly have to call to follow up, send more documents, and answer more questions just so they finally get convinced to process the claim. The amount of time I’ve had to spend chasing my own insurance company is exhausting.
Contacting them is another pain. The AI phone system barely understands anything and it makes a simple call unnecessarily difficult.
I’m very dissatisfied with the service. It feels like the quality is declining while the prices keep increasing. At this point I’m seriously thinking about switching insurance.

They said impossible to repair it, then they sent a voucher with the original price.
It took only 2 days.

Before you give your money to them- stay away
I would advise others to reconsider using this insurance company.
I contacted them solely to ask how to submit the documents they had requested from me. However, during the call, I was told that they needed to hear the full story of the case. I then explained the situation in detail and answered all questions asked.
When I later asked the case agent, Amro, to repeat the statement I had provided, he denied and cut-off several parts of what I said. This is highly unprofessional.
Furthermore, the communication in English was unclear and not conducted at a professional standard, which made the situation even more difficult.
I feel unfairly treated for several reasons:
First, I did not call to provide a full case explanation; I only called to request clarification about document submission.
Second, the case agent did not acknowledge what I said and instead claimed there was a discrepancy between what he heard and what I stated.
Third, my case was rejected on the basis that more than 24 hours had passed between the last use of the stolen item and the discovery of the alleged theft. This is incorrect. I did not provide specific times, as it is very difficult to determine them accurately. Regardless, it seems unreasonable to expect anyone to pinpoint the exact time a theft occurred—especially when there are multiple people around, making it extremely difficult to identify the thief.
For these reasons, I strongly disagree with both the handling and the conclusion of my case!

In reality you're not covered
I had a Tryg health travel insurance via Jyske Mastercard Platinum. I had a medical issue while on vacation that ruined my vacation and costed me 3.500€.
A nightmare reaching out to them (website not working, automated telephone machine...), they asked me to work days to fill out an incredibly detailed form and send them all the invoices, cash receipts, health reports, everything. And after 1 month they booked a meeting, they arrived 30' late at the meeting and they told me that due to paragraph x in section y I was entitled no refund. No possibility to challenge them, legally they are very strong.
It is basically as if you think you're covered, but in reality you're not. Is this an insurance or a joke?

What's the point of a refund protection
Bought 2 concerts ticket through DTDconcerts with the Refund Protection option from Tryg. And when I had to cancel it, they said that my case was not covered? It's a concert, people have plenty reasons to not make it. That's why we bought the insurrance in the first place. Becareful when you buy anything and read the policy twice, maybe thrice if possible. Or just don't buy it at all.

Terrible!!
As I have already stated before, I will continue to leave a negative review every single day until someone from Tryg contacts me. I have already explained in a previous comment what happened to us.
It is unbelievable that no one within this company is taking responsibility for what occurred. One of your employees provided us with incorrect information, and as a result we were left with a bill of 1,200 kroner to pay.
Even today, I called again and was told that I would be contacted, which once again did not happen. No one called me back, as usual.
This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have already filed a formal complaint with the relevant authorities.
I will continue to leave negative reviews every day and do everything in my power to bring your rating down to zero until someone finally contacts me and provides a proper response.

On December 10th
On December 10th, my wife had a flat tire while driving with our children in the car. Given the situation, I called Tryg on her behalf.
The person I spoke to on the phone (if I understood correctly, a man named Marcus, working at the Ballerup office) explained that a roadside assistance vehicle could be dispatched to repair the flat tire.
However, he also informed me that at that moment our policy only included roadside assistance in Europe, not in Denmark, and that Danish roadside assistance would need to be activated.
He told me that this activation would take 24 hours.
At this point, I asked a very clear and explicit question:
Would we have to pay for this intervention then?
Marcus clearly stated that no, we would not have to pay, and that even if the Danish roadside assistance would technically only become active after 24 hours, Tryg would handle the matter internally and we would not receive any invoice.
This information was decisive.
Had we been told the truth, we would have left the car where it was — it was parked safely — and simply picked it up 24 hours later, avoiding any cost.
Instead, we have now received an invoice of 1,200 DKK.
This cost exists solely because of incorrect information provided by a Tryg employee.
What makes the situation even worse is how Tryg has handled this afterwards:
• For the past two to three days, we have repeatedly tried to contact Marcus or his manager.
• We are systematically denied access: Marcus is “not available”, then “will call back” (he never does), and we are told that managers “do not speak to customers”.
This is frankly absurd given that the issue is the direct consequence of incorrect guidance from your staff.
The call was recorded. We repeatedly asked for the recording to be reviewed. Initially, we were told it had not been listened to but somehow we were in the wrong anyway.
Later, we were told that Marcus’s manager had listened to it, but apparently not in full, because we are now being told that I “did not ask” the specific question about payment — which is simply false.
I have absolutely no reason to lie, and I certainly would not persist with negative reviews if this question had not been explicitly asked and answered. It was.
What I find unacceptable is:
• being denied the possibility to speak with someone who has actually listened to the recording,
• being forced to repeatedly call a call center with no resolution
• receiving no callback after days of calls and emails
• being asked to pay for a mistake that is clearly not ours.
I do not believe it is unreasonable to ask to speak with the people involved and discuss a fair resolution, especially when their mistake has cost us money.
At this point, this behavior borders on bad faith.
We will change insurance provider, we will escalate this matter to the relevant authorities, and we will continue to leave negative reviews until someone at Tryg takes responsibility and contacts us to resolve this issue properly.
This is not how a serious insurance company should treat its customers.

Tryg made it difficult on travel insurance
The system is not clear when they ask for details.
They lie about the conditions of the travel insurance once.
They kept on denying my claim for various reasons without understanding my situation.
Ultimately, they are not compensating because I cannot document a bus trip (not having bought a bus ticket) for a bus ride I was 100% certain I will miss, and have missed.

I canceled my insurance with them 2 months ago. Yesterday I get a bill in my mail with a fee on top of the price of the insurance fee 😆
I tried calling customer service and their robot is the most useless device ever, especially when you speak English.
Bottom line is that they try to trick you into paying over again for a service you are legally allowed to cancel. Meanwhile helping themselves to your personal information.

Stellar Pet Insurance
I have been a Tryg customer for several years with my household insurance, and recently also with pet insurance for my cat. I unfortunately had an unexpected complication after a routine veterinary procedure and had to submit my first claim. I was honestly nervous about the whole process, but I was extremely impressed with how smoothly everything went.
The claims process was straightforward, the communication was clear, and my case was handled much faster than I expected. I submitted all the documentation, and Tryg approved a large part of the expenses without any issues. It was a huge relief in a stressful situation, and I’m very grateful for how professional, fair, and supportive they were.
It’s easy to worry when something happens to your pet, but Tryg really showed that their insurance works when you need it. I feel safe being a customer with them and would happily recommend their pet insurance to others!

I have had insurance at tryg through my previous company, when I no longer worked there, I called tryg and I was told that the insurance will be exactly the same, so I continued. Unfortunately, I was tricked as it is not. I needed help and they won´t give me (psychologist only can be their network). I strongly not recommend this insurance company.
