Shocking service
The sandals I bought were faulty - I took them back to the store but as I had not kept the receipt - nor been asked in the store if I’d like an electronic one - I had to make long phone calls , tolerate being cut off, being asked the same questions - what time of day did I buy the sandals !! - then had to return them and accept I’d have to wait 30 days before a decision was made. I called on day 30 - threatened to formally complain and miraculously I received a call to tell me I would get a refund. It was only on this occasion that I had an apology.
In my opinion the systems are poor, the staff are unsupported and the Company has no respect for its customers. I will never buy from Hotter again.
Terrible customer service and very expensive to buy online
I made the mistake of ordering shoes online because the concession at our local garden centre had closed. The shoes were far too small and narrow, and very different sizing from other hotter shoes I have. I returned them and have been charged £7.45 for postage! I am still waiting for my refund. I will never buy from them again. Inconsistent sizing and terrible service, they don’t deserve to stay in business.
Score : Zero
Bought a pair of Hotter Corfu sandals from the Eastbourne store in the summer sale - £55 down from £79.
On returning home I noticed the front uppers were completely detached from the soles.
A very helpful customer service lady advised by telephone that I could return the sandals if I sent an email with photos of the issue & copy receipt to have a refund.
Email duly sent on 1/8/26 with no acknowledgment of receipt or any response for a couple of days so I resent & requested an update- nothing.
I telephoned & was advised that I couldn't post them back as bought in store & would have to return them myself which conflicted with the previous advise given.
I had no choice but to complain & had another agent call me to say I'd been advised incorrectly & could indeed post them back for a refund.
In the interim, I had 'fixed' the sandals with superglue & so negotiated a partial refund of £15.
A whole month on & Im still waiting for the cheque to arrive!
Have emailed again & had an apology & promises, but still no cheque!!
This was my first purchase from Hotter & will definitely be my last!
Shoddy shoes at highly inflated prices, poorly trained customer service agents & no follow up care shown to an unhappy customer.
Great shoes but weird sizes
Great shoes. Weird sizes recently.
I am size 6. After a couple of swaps, size 4 replacements still too big.
Longer than my similar Hotter size 6's I'm currently wearing.
Customer service isn't what it used to be either.
BEWARE!
I will never order from this company again. This is because they use Evri, surely the worst-performing courier service in the world. My shoes have not arrived 2 weeks and 5 days after ordering. I rang Hotter to request a refund and was told I would be refunded the cost of the shoes but not the postage. Only after I pointed out that they legally had to refund the full cost did they agree to refund the postage as well. Now I have to wait 10 days for the refund to go through. Why on earth does it take 10 days? Sorry Hotter, never again.
Very disappointed
These sandals seemed a bargain in the sale at £25.00. I wish I had taken the time to read all the reviews on the Aylin sandal. Reviews had stated the strap was too short and true enough when my size 7 arrived, unless my toes overhung the front, there was no way the sandal would fit, it was impossible to do the strap. To add insult to injury I returned the sandals, knowing I would be charged postage - a further £4.50 in line with the postage paid for delivery - but was deducted a further £2.50 - the wording says “Please note: if a discount was applied to your original order, the amount refunded will have been adjusted if your order now falls below the offer threshold” don’t understand what this means as the sandals are still on sale as the price of £25. Sharp practice in my opinion! So the sandals that do not fit cost £7 to return. Left a very sour taste and changed my opinion on this company. Buyer beware!
Return Charges
Ordered 3 pairs of shoes at the same time. Unfortunately all were too narrow & had to be returned. My refund was reduced by £9.90 which I guess is their admin costs. Don’t mind paying £2 or £3 but I think £9.90 is over the top Unfortunately I’m tied to purchasing online due to my disability. Won’t be buying anything form Hotter again.
Shoddy - I should have remembered!
I should have remembered!! Bought before with problems. Insoles completely detached from shoe on arrival. Very shoddy. And I now recall returning online will be a nightmare. Note to self : always trek over to St Alban's to the actual shop ( which is great !)
SHOCKING COMPANY
Having lost my order in transit, and no notification of this or apology - I HAD TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES to discover this! I finally had my money refunded after writing to the company’s Chief Executive!
Avoid any purchases form this company - there customer service department is an absolute shambles and the advisors unhelpful.
Terrible customer service .
Terrible customer service .. refund was not put through at all had to contact again .. told them I vote with my feet and not order anything at all again ..
disgraceful no wonder they are having sale upon sale .just close down
Over £7 to Try on a Pair of Sandals
I ordered some sandals, paid postage for them to be delivered, they arrived quickly but did not fit, they were too small. I think the sizing has altered considerably in the last couple of years. I always order shoes by the EU size as I find the English sizing to be very hit and miss. I sent them back. Finally received my refund after about a couple of weeks, most companies begin the refund process as soon as they receive the goods back. Not Hotter, it takes them much longer. Looking at the amount I paid versus the amount I got back the was a difference of just over £7. So it cost me over £7 for the pleasure of trying a pair of shoes on. Never again Hotter, I won't be buying from you again.

Tried to purchase some slippers the Person female on the phone was very unfriendly unprofessional and rude.!!!
Corsica sandals
Corsica sandals, comfortable so I kept them as I need a pair of slip on but the leather looks like faux leather, so poor quality. Quite disappointed with them.
Dreadful complaints team on quality…
Dreadful complaints team on quality issues. Poor quality and they pass the buck on to the design team. Bought shoes for years, 1st issue and they dump you. Dreadful loyalty.
Terrible customer service
Oh dear, Hotter. Your customer service is useless, isn’t it. I returned some Shake 2 shoes for a wider fit in the next size up as they were unusually snug. I was buying them to go with a dress I intend to wear tomorrow for a big birthday. I rang up after a week to find out what was happening and was told Hotter had the return, the shoes I wanted were in stock and that they would expedite it. When I chased the order again six days later I was told they were out of stock. This process lasted from 6-22 August. It is now too late to find another pair of shoes to wear that will fit the rather specific needs of my feet. Apparently my return was lost once it hit their warehouse so nobody did anything. I am so disgusted at the lack of care - nobody at Hotter gave a damn about my order or offered to refund my postage for the inconvenience.
So goodbye, Hotter - I shall not buy from you again and recommend others don’t either unless they’re physically in a Hotter shop.
disappointing customer care
my advice: if you order from Hotter by phone make sure you fully understand the return charges and check your returns label. Based on my experience I would not order from them again
resolving my issue took far more time and effort than it should have
however I eventually did receive a refund for postage and packing both outbound and inbound
Carpa...? Rubbish!
I have been wearing Catskill sandals for a few years and have several pairs in a range of colours. They are wonderfully comfortable... even the standard fit. And they are very pretty and elegant sandals that can be worn anywhere.
I thought Carpa would be different only in the style of the top of the shoe but the same as Catskill in the sole. I am so disappointed to find that the Carpa sole is much, much narrower to the extent that it's almost a different shape altogether.
Reading the Carpa reviews online, I know I am not the only dissatisfied customer. So, like many others, I too am returning the pair of Carpa sandals that I bought online.
Perhaps the Hotter designers could bring back Catskills to their range of sandals for next summer. It would make a lot of their customers very happy.
Scruffy Kingston store
I am always happy to buy Hotter shoes but you should be ashamed of the furniture in the Kingston on Thames shop. For over a year I’ve noticed it. When I bought shoes today the sales assistant said that the torn and patched plastic on the chairs has been like that for 2 years but their requests for replacements fall on deaf ears at head office. Shame on you. Hotter is supposed to be quite upmarket. I wish I had taken photos.

Firstly the shoes arrived well packed…
Firstly the shoes arrived well packed and on time. However the fit is not what I imagined. I ordered extra wide but they are only extra wide if the shoe laces are fully extended across the top of the shoe - despite my feet being within the measurement - more lace than leather! I have had many Hotter shoes in the past which have fit perfectly, sadly I shall not buy again.
Want 30 days to inspect faulty sandals!
Bought sandals last June, one is coming apart. Emailed them, but I've got to send them back, wrapping them securely, writing "inspection department" on the parcel. They sent me a link so that i could follow instructions on how to print a pre pay label for the parcel and it will take at least 30 days for a decision. Appalling. I'm away end of August and, being a pensioner, I won't be wearing them in the winter. They used to be an excellent company but now just fob you off! Not good enough
