I had the occasion to sign two contracts for electricity and gas with flogas and although their prices with an entry offer were attractive, I can't say that their practices or customer support was good.
I signed the first one for a 250 EUR credit and they clawed it back when I switched providers on the same day my contract ended, on a technicality that they were quick to point out.
At the end of the second one there was a discrepancy where I told them to end my contract on a certain date with ample notice, and they just added another week to it. When contacted the customer support just left me on read. Love these companies.
The only good point they would have is that their billing system is ok.
TLDR: transparency 0%, amicability 0%, but they'll make sure to grab your money.

I availed of the free EV charger offer.
When I was switching over from another provider I was going to be hit with a €490 exit bill. Flogas were kind enough to postpone my change over for 2 months.

I am a small business owner who was charged a disputed exit fee by Flogas in January 2024, nine and a half months before I vacated my business premises. Flogas produced four different figures for the same alleged debt across its own correspondence — €2,500, €2,359.08, €2,165.88, and €2,190.48 — with no reconciliation provided. The fee had been written off internally by Flogas in March 2024 with the notation "No copy bill available," then silently reinstated in March 2025 with an identical notation and no new justification.
Three call recordings — dated 14 November 2023, 15 February 2024, and 19 February 2024 — were confirmed in writing by Flogas's own Data Protection Officer on 29 May 2026 as held in cold storage. None were ever delivered. Flogas's own written statements about whether these recordings had been delivered were contradictory within the same eleven-day period in June 2026.
The Commission for Regulation of Utilities investigated (ref: CRU-54457-M2M7) and issued its determination in July 2026. While the CRU found Flogas was contractually entitled to charge the fee — which Flogas had internally written off on 2 June 2026, framed as a "gesture of goodwill" — the determination also recorded multiple specific failings against Flogas:
— Flogas added my landlord to the energy account without his knowledge or consent. The CRU's own words: "The CRU considers this a failing on Flogas' behalf."
— Account and complaint management "could have been handled better," citing bank charges applied during an active complaint, debt collection while the dispute was unresolved, and delays in customer service callbacks.
— A formal "technical uphold" against Flogas for regulatory reporting purposes, for "delays and poor engagement" with the CRU's own investigation — the CRU's own words: "did not receive the relevant information within the SLA required... prolonged our investigation and we do not consider this was reasonable." This sits on Flogas's regulatory record independently of the substantive outcome.
A separate Data Protection Commission complaint (ref: DPC0526889105) remains open and active, concerning the withheld recordings and the Data Protection Officer's contradictory written statements.
CRU's own Customer Care Annual Report 2025 (Ref: CRU/202698, published 30 June 2026) records that Flogas's complaint volume rose 227% in 2025 — while every other major supplier's volume fell (Electric Ireland -40%, Bord Gáis -23%, SSE -28%) — with 42% of that increase falling in Q4 2025, the same quarter Flogas completed a full vendor-switch of its billing platform. Flogas had the highest complaint rate per 10,000 customers of any Irish energy supplier that year.
The CRU's determination is binding on Flogas but not on the customer.

I have just changed to Flogas recently, advised to me by my electricity agent. Good price now and easy change over period.

I am absolutely sick of being messed around by Flogas. I signed up for a deal a whole year ago because they promised Emerald Park tickets as part of the offer.A year later and I still haven't got them. I called up customer service to get it sorted out, and instead of just giving me the codes, they told me they have to send a complaint to the marketing team that is literally in the same building. Now they say I have to wait up to another 20 working days just for them to look into it.It is an absolute joke. I've paid my bills and kept my side of the deal for a full year, but Flogas won't hand over what they promised. STAY CLEAR!!!

After an initial hicup regarding the date of switching for my Electricity account, I am happy to say that my experience with Flogas thus far has been positive.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD
Absolutely appalling complaints handling process. I opened a complaint on behalf of my vulnerable father who was mis-sold the incorrect tariff by a field sales agent back in April.
After weeks and weeks of calling into the customer service team to be continuously told that its with the complaints department, a department who never make contact other than sending a templated acknowledgment emails and no offer of resolution.
Funniest thing about my complaint is I have offered them a resolution to the issue by simply switching him to the correct tariff without any penalties, but no they continue to bill this man every month and take his money by direct debit, I wonder is that why they are delaying....
Unfortunately they left me no choice but to open a complaint with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities. Hopefully this will improve how they handle their complaints and no one else has to go through this.

I had been a customer for over 2 years, the customer service is extremely good and every agent i spoke to was extremely friendly, I unfortunately had to move as I recently got a EV and they did not provide any day/night tariffs, If they where to reconsider and provided a day/night tariff i would be very happy to return.

The customer service is terrible from the time I started to deal with them until now, they cant do a thing properly. My late father passed away and the way they handled this. Took weeks of emails phone calls, constantly supplying information and details over and over again. Eventually they set up accounts again not the way it should have been done, dealt with another supplier Bord Gais and Electric Ireland when another relative passed. Then months later I received 2 years of bills for my father no reason given. Emailed to ask why, no reply ! I emailed to close the accounts and waiting on the closing team to reply 5 days now, email again. Have told them not to issue bills to the address but reckon they will as they don't listen or follow any instructions- the constant over and over exchanges with them to set up accounts when they did get all the details weeks earlier they admitted this numerous times over the phone, and their own customer service not sure why accounts were not set up correctly. I added meter readings and accounts not updated. From start to finish their customer service is appalling. Its not until you have to deal with them that you will find their failings. EDIT - just got an email to say it takes 16 weeks to close an account 4 Months !!! what a joke of a company! Why anyone would use them is beyond me
