Dyson’s robot vacuum Spot + Scrub is…
Dyson’s robot vacuum Spot + Scrub is the machine that gets worse each day it lives in your home. Not only is it a terrible machine, it is matched by the terrible customer service. I conducted a video call with a service tech and he confirmed he could not help me and that he was escalating and within 48 hours I would get an email. That was a week ago, and so far nothing, meanwhile the machine has chosen to do whatever it wants to do and cleaning the floor isn’t part of the program. He gets lost in the middle of an empty room. Each software update gets pushed in the middle of the night and upon completion it shuts the robot down altogether so the schedule doesn’t run the next day. When it’s turned back on, it completely forgets what it is supposed to do. Decides in the middle of a cleaning cycle that it is done, sometimes it makes it back to the dock, sometimes it doesn’t. Between this terribly expensive machine and the terrible customer service, I am beyond done. Furthermore, try adding a review to their website, it is clear that they are making it super difficult.
I bought a premium Dyson vacuum cleaner
I bought a premium vacuum cleaner, upright multi mode from Dyson and it was literally the top of the line model and it cannot even pick up a breadcrumb from my hardwood floor or my marble floor. This is unbelievable. Do not buy Dyson products. Even though the vision of the founder engineering wise is fantastic the execution for commercial and practical product is very poor. I wish I could say differently as I’m an engineer myself, but if anything it serves as a lesson that engineering alone cannot fix practical problems without having a very strong pilot or test phase and customer feedback
An overpriced vacuum with flaws.
This is the 4th Dyson corded vacuum I've owned and it is not worth the money I spent. Dyson does have great suction!! But that is all. This model I returned to the warehouse store after two uses because a medal piece fell out of the carpet cleaning head and repurchased it. Three weeks later a felt piece of material wrapped around the beater bar. When I called customer support and showed them (on video chat) the piece and where I think it came from they agreed to replace the cleaner head. Also, when I told the agent that the vacuum is so hard to use across the carpet, even though I used the 3 different suction settings (I literally did damage to my shoulder) he said he would replace the damaged head with an "Easy Push Cleaner Head" and "I would love it". Well when it arrived it was the same thing I already had that broke twice and is a pain (Literally) to use. You have to pull and push it around like a piece of heavy equipment, not vacuuming like a normal vacuum cleaner. I literally pulled my shoulder out on this machine and my back hurts every time I use it, I might night be a weight lifter but I'm not a wimp either. Not to mention they made the vacuum head 3 inches smaller from the previous versions so it takes longer to vacuum the same amount of carpet. I had the competition's vacuum (starts with a B) and it did just as good a job for ¼ the amount of money. Their downfall was no hepa filter.
⭐ 1-Star Review — Great Vacuum, Terrible Customer Service
I actually love my Dyson V8 Animal+ cordless vacuum, which I purchased at Costco. Unfortunately, my experience trying to purchase a replacement battery directly from Dyson has been so frustrating that I cannot recommend buying another Dyson product.
I live in Hawaii and could not find a replacement battery locally, so I ordered one directly from Dyson for approximately $150. I was told delivery would take 5–7 business days.
I placed my order on August 23, 2026. Dyson then emailed me a tracking number and stated that my battery was expected to arrive on August 26. I waited the full quoted delivery period, but by September 3, the package still had not arrived and the tracking showed that it had not progressed beyond Ontario, Canada.
That is when the situation became even more frustrating.
I called Dyson customer service. The first representative arranged to send another replacement battery—but once again, I was told I would have to wait another 5–7 business days. After already waiting for an order that apparently wasn’t moving, Dyson was either unable or unwilling to expedite the replacement.
About 30 minutes later, I decided I no longer wanted to continue dealing with this and called back to cancel the second shipment and request a refund.
The second representative put me on hold while seeking a manager’s approval for the cancellation and refund. The call dropped.
I called again. The automated phone system dropped my call.
I called yet again and am currently on hold with a third representative, who is once again trying to get a manager to approve my refund.
The entire experience has been exhausting. Dyson’s phone connection has also been garbled and poor quality, making communication between the customer and representatives unnecessarily difficult. For a company selling premium-priced products, I expected a much higher standard of order fulfillment and customer support.
The most disappointing part is that the vacuum itself is excellent. My 1-star rating isn’t because I dislike my Dyson vacuum. It is because getting a simple replacement battery has turned into days of waiting, multiple phone calls, dropped calls, repeated holds, and difficulty simply obtaining a refund for a product I never received.
The call ended with a verbal promise and case number assuring me that I will receive a refund. Let me know if you want to find out if I got the refund or not!
A premium product should come with premium—or at least reliable—customer service.
Based on this experience, I would recommend looking at another brand. Save yourself the hassle I have gone through just trying to purchase a replacement battery and then get my money back.
Whatever yall do don't buy a vacuum…
Whatever yall do don't buy a vacuum from Dyson. We end up purchasing one on sale. We got a used vacuum with missing parts from them. Then, we called them and complained which they upgraded us to a better vacuum, but it literally took 4 weeks to deliver it to us. It was like pulling arm and leg to get your item. I mean there are not cheap vacuums.
I purchased a Dyson V15
I purchased a Dyson V15, this would be my second one of the same. I purchased it from Amazon as was cheaper at the time. Within a month there were issues and I went directly to Dyson customer support. I followed all their trouble shooting and agreed to the camera access to show what was going on. They sent me a replacement part of when I installed it, it was the same issue.
I contacted Dyson again and same repeat performance of troubleshooting and camera access and serial number and a bunch of questions. Eventually they came to a conclusion I could send it for repair. I am refusing demanding a replacement as this is new and $700. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor that I was probably put on hold whether intentionally or not for 30min. Only to be told I cannot have the product replaced just repaired.
Obviously Dyson does not stand by its products whatsoever. I will now never ever purchase a Dyson product. It is easier to hold onto a loyal customer than to try and find a new one. This must have been my 7th product I purchased.
So my opinion don’t ever ever buy Dyson. When an item is defective they refuse to acknowledge and stand by their products whatsoever.
Appalling company. Then when I read up to try and find their email they do not show one and then I realize the extent of the same complaints they have out there.
DON’T BUY DYSON!
Clean+Wash Hygiene = dangerous, $500 e-waste
Bought a Clean+Wash Hygiene direct from them. When I finally received it, the leaked water all over the charging/drying base (guess I'm lucky it didn't start a fire or electrocute me) the very first time I used it. I contacted them and arranged for it to be serviced by shipping it to their repair center. It took a long time to figure out how to pack it back up properly, I wanted to make sure it was repacked exactly like it was shipped to me to avoid them trying deny service should something happen in transit. When I got it back nothing had been done (said so on the outside of the box) and now I'm outside my return period. What a rip off. $500 e-waste is what Dyson is selling these days. I'll attempt to have it serviced again, but it's really a hassle to have to unbox/rebox everything again.
Dyson sold me a product that requires…
Dyson sold me a product that requires replacement filters, then ran out of the filters with no meaningful solution for customers. Their “resolution” was to promise me a free filter once stock returned. Then, when filters supposedly came back, Dyson told me they had already sold out before they could send the one they promised me.
That is not customer service—it is a company making promises it has no intention or ability to honor. Selling a product while failing to maintain essential replacement parts is ridiculous enough; telling a customer they will receive one for free and then letting inventory disappear before fulfilling that commitment is unacceptable.
Dyson charges premium prices, but the support behind the product has been unbelievably poor. I am pissed off because I was given their word, waited based on that promise, and then was told, essentially, “too bad, they’re gone.” If you are considering buying from Dyson, keep in mind that you may be left with a product you cannot properly maintain and a customer-service team that does not stand behind what it tells you. I would give zero stars if I could I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
Very disappointed with my Dyson…
Very disappointed with my Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. I’ve had it for a couple of years, but considering how much it cost, I expected it to last much longer. It suddenly quit working, and now I’m expected to pay at least $100 to have it repaired.
To make matters worse, the estimated turnaround time is 14–21 days. That means I’ll have to go out and buy another hair dryer just to use while I wait for mine to be returned. This isn’t my first Dyson product, but if their expensive products aren’t built to last—and customers have to pay costly repair fees—this will likely be my last.
Dyson it’s the worst company ever
Dyson it’s the worst company ever. They sent me an empty box without the product!!!!!! BE AWERE!! They said they can’t refund my money! Basically they stole my money.
Terrible customer service.
I bought a very expensive Dyson…
I bought a very expensive Dyson Purifier + Cool Formaldehyde. I loved it so much I bought another one. What I didn't know is that the white components would yellow badly in 3 years. It's embarrassing to me that I have to hide them when I have company. My white toaster that's 10 years old still looks brand new.
Never buying Dyson again
Never buying Dyson again. Terrible customer service for a known electronic defect.I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Dyson’s customer service. I have been a highly loyal customer to this brand, to the point where I purchased two cordless vacuums in the exact same year, along with a Supersonic hair dryer and an air purifier. I have spent thousands of dollars on Dyson products, trusting their quality and premium reputation. Now, my V12 Detect Slim vacuum is failing due to a well-documented electronic manufacturing defect (the internal capacitors on the main body circuit board are failing during cold starts). When I contacted support, they completely refused to cover the replacement part (Main Body & Cyclone), demanding that I pay $170 USD out of pocket simply because the machine is slightly outside its 2-year warranty.Charging a loyal customer $170 to fix a known engineering flaw on a premium machine is unacceptable. This experience has completely ruined my trust in the brand. Dyson does not value customer loyalty or stand behind their products. I will never buy a Dyson product ever again, and I will make sure to warn my family and friends to stay away from this brand.
Horrible customer service
My package was shipped in 2 parts. One I received and the other was left at another location. On the UPS TRACKING YOU CAN SEE THE IMAGES AND IT WAS 2 DIFFERENT HOUSES. Called Dyson to file a claim and they were so rude would not even listen to my concerns. All they kept saying is that the case was closed. They did not offer to ship the Dyson or provide me a refund.
James Dyson should be ashamed
James Dyson should be ashamed. It's a shame that the billionaire, James Dyson, built a quality and innovative product, then decided to cut corners, decrease quality, and hire truly the worst customer service representatives in the world (and I say world because they've offshored all of their customer service agents) to make even more money? The shoddy, cheap, and fragile vacuums they sell today end up in the landfill after just a few years. The cardboard box they come in is just marketing to think they're eco conscious. No, we're paying for James's mega yacht.
I will never purchase a dyson ever…
I will never purchase a dyson ever again. My model didn't work from the beginning.. as I was told by the repair center. I didn't know this since I never had a Dyson before. I thought I was supposed to depress the back wheels to make it stand upright and switch to hose mode. I was told it was supposed to do this automatically. Since I didn't know this was not how the machine operated, I did not return it. Then a year and a half into owning this product, the mechanism to switch modes breaks (probably because of the manual depressing of the back wheels). No help from Dyson... Will never purchase another one again.
Paid twice, cancelled twice — hours of my time for their mistake
I’m a licensed cosmetologist who tried to buy a Supersonic r Professional for my business. Dyson took my payment and cancelled my order twice.
The first order was placed by phone. The price came up lower than expected, so I confirmed it with the rep three separate times — he assured me each time it was correct, on a recorded line. I woke up to a cancelled order and my money already taken. Their explanation? Their rep gave too big a discount, so I had to wait 10–14 days plus 1–2 billing cycles for a refund and reorder at a higher price. For their error.
I asked for a supervisor and for them to review the recorded call. Silence for four days.
So I placed a second order — at the price advertised on Dyson’s own website, with an agent. Payment accepted. Cancelled again. I spent over two hours on the phone in one morning trying to fix it.
Dyson advertises “excellence” and “iconic service.” What I got was my money tied up repeatedly, hours of my time wasted, and a product I still don’t have when I needed it for work. The service was anything but iconic. Deeply disappointing.
Horrid company to do business with
Horrid company to do business with. Paid $1200 for a new vacuum, started having problems less than six months later they said oh well. Run from them.
Received a used, damaged unit sold as new, painful resolution process
I ordered a V15 Detect vacuum directly from Dyson.com specifically because I wanted a fast, reliable delivery. When it arrived, the box was dented, the wand itself had a visible dent, and the machine had dust and debris inside the bin and filter — clear signs it had been used and returned, not new. It also wasn't my first issue with Dyson: an older cordless model I owned previously stopped working entirely, and even a full battery replacement didn't fix it.
Support did acknowledge the problem and approved an exchange, but the process itself is where this really falls apart. I have to ship the defective unit back on my own, wait for it to be received at their warehouse, and then wait up to 15 additional business days for a replacement — nearly a month without a $750 machine I already paid for, to fix an error that was entirely on their end. When I asked for a concurrent shipment instead, I was told that wasn't possible; a supervisor could only offer to "try to expedite," with no actual timeframe attached.
Product aside, the customer experience here has been frustrating and slow for something that was never my mistake to begin with.
I brought a Dyson hand held (stick)…
I brought a Dyson hand held (stick) vacuum biggest mistake I have ever made. I'll never buy a over priced Dyson product again.
Horrible
Horrible! My order stayed as pending for two days and I never received an email so I had to call them and was told this happens when they are doing a software update. Glitch! They notified another department and I was told I will hear back 24 to 72 hours later. The next day I received an email saying my order is canceled. Then another email with a link saying you need to make payment, the link didn’t work so I had to call them again. They started another order … then they said sometimes the payment doesn’t go through if your Credit card address is different than the shipping address and that discount codes don’t work. After trying twice to process the order with the help of the agent and processing my credit card twice, they said the card is being declined. I said I get notification from the bank if there is any questions about an activity … I told them it is a software issue on your side and I to forget about my order. This is day 5 on a 3 to 7 day delivery promise. I ordered the same item at a better price from Walmart!!!
I thought ordering from the manufacturer is always better than a third party but boy was I wrong.
Don’t deal with these guys until they get a new president and they upgrade their entire software and processing system. Horrible waste of my precious time!!!!!
