Wonderbox Nederland Reviews 

Update: Wonderbox reacted to this review with the usual “sorry, we are improving our service” but no solution was offered. I e-mailed them twice over the course of last month. If the gift card cannot be used in the stores you list on the card, you should pay the money back. I am still waiting for a reaction from your customer service on this.

Never buy anything from Wonderbox! We got a Wonderbox gift card from our friends as a baby shower gift. Several stores where we could buy baby clothes are listed on the card, but it turns out we can't actually use the gift card at those stores.
When we contacted customer service, we were simply told that these stores are not participating retailers. If that's the case, they shouldn't be listed on the gift card in the first place. This is very misleading. Now we're left with a gift card we can't use for its intended purpose - or basically any purpose, since we don't have more hours to waste to find out which of the listed stores are actually "participating retailers"...

Complicated website to use. Mostly nasty, expensive and little choice of b&b's/hotels to choose from. Never give anyone a wonderbox voucher!

Horrible UI on the website.
Very long list of very bad hotels and activities. Took me hours to find anything decent.
Would prefer to get a money instead of this box as a gift

I guess it is a nice way to give an experience as a gift, but it was very complicated to actually use. The hotels had rooms empty, but when we contacted them they said there's no availability for Wonderbox, as they only reserve one room for that. To upgrade the experience, I needed to buy a new voucher and afterwards I found out the room is not available. Thankfully they could cash the voucher in for a discount in the end, but the whole process was a complicated mess.

Everything. Getting into your site with verification code which mostly came to late. We had a present for 400 euros , could only book for 2 nights for a place that cost less than 400 euros so we had money left over which we can't use. Extremely complicated website.

Wonderbox is a terrible gift! Everybody who works with this is stupid! Dont buy it! Dont give it away! Its nog good gift

The food was great, we really enjoyed having lunch on our selected location. The only thing is that it was not clear what was included in the box, and eventually we had to pay up on top of what we originally thought.

Honestly criminal
I have €50 remaining on my voucher but the website says my gift card is no longer valid (the expiration date says it expires in 2028). I've been back and forth with their customer service team for 3 months trying to get an answer. Truly a scam.

FOLLOW UP: I replied to the email address they listed in their reply below and have received no response after one month.

Second follow up: They have replied to my email with the idiotic response of confirming that my gift card has been used. Obviously it has been used before but not the full amount. This company is scamming many many people

Hated everything about this voucher experience. Got cancelled on a bunch of times, it's always thesame "We don't accept Wonderbox anymore".

Absolute garbage company, they're professional scammers.

I received this as a gift, but the booking process has been a nightmare. I tried to make a reservation for the theme park, but no dates are available or even shown on the calendar. When I called customer service, they were unhelpful and simply told me to keep checking the website or send an email.

The voucher exchange process is far from user friendly. I felt like I was begging just to use a gift. I wouldn't recommend this service based on the lack of support and technical issues.

Good good, generous portions, service was fast, location nice

It was terrible. Good hotels said my voucher wasn't valid and refused to make reservations. Others also rejected my bookings, saying they weren't available on my desired dates. I was forced to accept the dates offered by only one hotel.

Was great place with great steak

Misleading, I ended up having to pay 85 euro extra.

Ended up paying more than if we just ordered from the menu. Ridiculous....

The promise of the wellness voucher was exciting when I first received it however we quickly realised that you couldn’t really use it in the Netherlands. We then swapped it for an overnight stay which would have been fine but all the hotels we were looking to stay at that had availability did not have availability via wonderbox. So far we have now paid for the whole spa weekend ourselves and still have the wonderbox voucher waiting to be used….

Good service after complaint

Its very limited choice and not simple to use it.
So many restaurants are not accepting the voucher but its mentioned on the site. You can not use it 100%, what will happen if 4-5€ is over? To use it, you wont buy one more voucher.
In this way Wonderbox is earning so much money.
Will never suggest anyone to buy this.

Atrocious. We've spent 3 hours trying to find an activity that would accept our Wonderbox gift card and still haven't been able to find anything. All the restaurants we called stopped accepting the Wonderbox alltogether. They also won't allow us to combine our 2 Wonderbox gift cards, meaning that even if we are able to find an activity that still accepts them we would have to do so all over again. Complete waste of money
