Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 297 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people reported extremely poor customer service, often finding it unhelpful, difficult to reach a live person, and experiencing chats being abruptly ended or requests for supervisors being denied. Reviewers also experienced significant service disruptions, including buffering, frozen screens, being kicked off the service, and missing content they paid to watch. Customers frequently encountered unexpected charges, such as being billed for full subscriptions after purchasing a one-day pass, or recurring charges despite attempts to cancel. Many felt the service was expensive and not worth the cost, especially given the frequent issues and poor support.

I was a Sling TV customer for years

I was a Sling TV customer for years, but after multiple price increases, I finally decided to cancel my subscription two months ago. Despite canceling, I was recently charged $49.99 for another month of service.

When I contacted customer support to dispute the charge, I was told that my account had been "used" for 2 minutes and 46 seconds that day. What they conveniently left out is that those 2 minutes and 46 seconds were spent logging into the website and starting a chat session so I could speak with a live agent about the unauthorized charge. I did not watch any programming, stream any content, or use the service in any meaningful way.

Using the time it took me to access customer support as justification for billing me an entire month is ridiculous and unacceptable. It feels like a technicality being used to avoid refunding a charge that never should have happened in the first place.

What's even more disappointing is that this is how a long-time customer is treated. After years of paying for the service, Sling chose to defend a questionable charge rather than do the right thing and make it right.

If you're considering Sling TV, keep detailed records of your cancellation and monitor your bank statements closely. Based on my experience, a canceled account can still result in unexpected charges, and customer service may use your attempt to resolve the issue against you.

Very disappointed. This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Sling TV, and I will not be returning as a customer.

Charging former customers after cancellation and then pointing to less than three minutes of usage as justification feels deceptive and anti-consumer. Long-time customer loyalty clearly means very little here

Seems like a total con

Seems like a total con. I wanted to watch the World Cup and several references said ESPN Sports which they indicated I could access via Sling. I looked at Sling, and Sling indicates access to both Fox sports and FS1. One subscribed, I found almost no FOX sports except little-league baseball. Any MLB games required another subscription to a separate service. Worse, the only World Cup games available are on FS1, where, you guessed it, a separate subscription is required. This is a CON. Best part is when I unsubscribed, I got a web form asking me why I was unsubscribing. Guess, what -- there's no way to fill out any info on the web form

Under no circumstance should you…

Under no circumstance should you subscribe to Sling. We are seniors and we made a mistake in signing up. I wanted to signup for a 7 day pass to watch a couple of the NBA finals games. In the process of signing up I spoke with a online representative and they assured me that I was doing the right thing. The cost was approximately $14.00 for a seven day pass. I did it and watched game 1. Then my wife noticed extra charges. My cost went from $14.00 to almost $50.00. I tried to call them...and found out there is no number to call and talk to a person. They do everything online. I reached a person online via chat. I told them what my intention was and what happened and they said sorry, no refunds, no credits, nothing they can do. I explained to them what happened and they said I must have signed up for something extra by accident causing additional charges. I said that I must have made a mistake. I am 70 years old and not very techy. Can you please give us a credit for the extra charges? Nope, no way, no how. No consideration at all. Nothing. Cold as ice. Your mistake and there are no refunds, no credits. Nothing! And then we find out that the first game is the only game we can watch. The only one that is available with our 7 day overpriced pass. Again they said there is nothing can can do for us. They took our money and we got one game. I would never ever recommend this service. This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had. Sling should be ashamed of themselves. Just dreadful!!!

Dissatisfied Customer

Customer service appointment person and then the tech gives incorrect info regarding sling services. I told them specifically what I was looking for and they said with Sling I would get what I was asking for and more. Also I paid 3 months in advance as it was cheaper that way and they totally refused a refund to me when I cancelled the subscription. They said I would have sling for the 3 months but then it was cancelled. Well I have no use for what sling offers and out of my money. How ridiculous all the way around and customer service is unreal!! They should not be trying to sell streaming services and get people who are knowledgeable enough to give correct info. I'll spread the word. Also the phone number given to me is out of service and there seems to be no way to speak to a person directly for sling which is always frustrating and their automated service is impossible to get what you need. BEWARE!

Sling "no refund" policy

Sling advertised a specific hockey game that I purchased with a day pass. Once the transaction went through, they showed me a completely different hockey "highlight" reel. I contacted them for a refund and they said it was against their policy to refund prepaid services.

Having problems with accessing local channels through our AirTV Anywhere device. We are getting three error codes. SlingTV's New AI BOT Customer Service is not at all helpful with resolving the issue or issues and is only magnifying the problem 100x. Atleast with the old Live Phone Representative System you could get to a Representative who was able to help fix the issue. NOT an AI BOT THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEIR AI BOT's only have the ability to keep sending the same correction information which Has been already given to No resolving the Issue.

If I could rate this lower

If I could rate this lower, I freaking would.

My son wanted to watch the NBA finals, so I specifically selected that game to bring me to the *essentials* package to watch it. Not even 5 minutes ago I paid the $20 fee for the sub. After selecting the game, it loads up some woman's softball game. Turns out he can't watch it because ABC isn't in our area. Would have been effing nice to know that before I paid. Oh, and they refused my refund even though i bought it minutes ago. I recommend NO one use this service ever.

Title: Absolute fraud and bait-and-switch tactics—denied a refund for a locked game!I paid $4.99 specifically to watch the OKC vs. Spurs game on May 23, 2026. However, when I logged into the platform, the game was completely locked. The system tried to force me to upgrade to a full monthly service just to view it, which I did not want to do.I contacted customer service online that same Saturday to resolve the issue, but they refused to help. When I demanded a refund for the service I never received, the online chat representative flat-out lied, claiming their system showed the game was watched for 3 hours and 22 minutes. This is a complete falsehood—my guests and I were locked out the entire time and could not watch a single second of the broadcast.Sling TV executed a classic bait-and-switch scheme to trick me into paying more money, and then fabricated watch-time data to steal my $4.99. Their customer service is dishonest and unhelpful. Avoid this company at all costs—this is pure fraud!

Unable to cancel SLING tv

I canceled SLING tv on 4.27.26 and received an email confirmation. I was billed for the next month on 4.29.26. I requested a refund, and did not receive a response so I watched SLING. It is near the next billing period so I tried the Chat and was told no refund could be issued because I used the service after canceling it since it was not turned off. Crazy
