Great vacuum until it failed, then an awful customer service experience

I purchased an Orazum VC-V18 vacuum cleaner for £195 on 29 March 2026. Initially, I was very happy with it.

Unfortunately, after around only five months, the vacuum simply stopped switching on. The battery still charged normally, there was no obvious physical damage, but pressing the power button did nothing.

I contacted Orazum on 20 August to ask for support/service or an exchange.

What followed has been extremely frustrating.

Orazum asked me to provide a video of the fault, which I did. They then couldn't access the video, so I immediately corrected the permissions. I was subsequently told that the issue had been passed to their technical team.

Several days later, rather than arranging a return or offering a solution, I was told that the vacuum couldn't be switched on while charging and that I should unplug it and wait before pressing the button. This was despite the fact that my original email had already clearly explained that the vacuum charges normally but will not switch on when unplugged.

I followed those instructions and confirmed that it remained completely non-functional.

I then formally requested a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Instead of resolving the matter, Orazum again referred it to their technical team.

Their latest response has now asked me to unplug the vacuum, leave it completely untouched for at least three minutes, and make yet another video showing that I've waited three minutes before pressing the power button.

This is a £195 vacuum cleaner. It isn't complicated: if the battery is charged, you press the button and it should work.

The product itself may have been good when it worked, but unfortunately the customer service experience when something goes wrong has been extremely poor. Nearly two weeks after first reporting the fault, I still have a vacuum that doesn't work and Orazum have still not arranged for it to be returned, repaired, replaced or refunded.

I have now had to raise a dispute with my bank and provide them with the full correspondence as evidence.

I'm posting this review as a warning to other potential customers. My experience has been that getting support when the product fails can involve repeated emails, delays and increasingly pointless troubleshooting rather than an actual resolution.

I sincerely hope other customers don't experience the same thing.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!
Hoover only works half heartedly on hard floors and is useless on carpet, and made of substandard plastic. It’s an Asian company (they like to make it look not so and more UK based?!) and the reviews THEY put out are false! Trustpilot’s are true. They will highly discourage returning item as sub-standard stating it’s expensive to post back and could get “lost in transit” which was a veiled threat. I kept hoover and sold it for less than half the cost after being assured I’d receive a 25% partial refund so my loss would have been around a 3rd of the original price, this partial refund has not materialised blaming international banking ??? Been strung along for about 3 months! Fuming 😡

Products break within a matter of…

Products break within a matter of weeks. The company makes you send video proof which is fine, but then they admit fault and give you two choices:
- pay for the item to be delivered to Hong King to be fixed
- pay for a new part

Customer services are terrible, admitting fault but refusing to replace free of charge

Do not buy from this company, they make out they are based in the UK but they are not.

Threatening emails

I bought a vacuum in May, paid in full. It’s now July and I’m getting threatening emails saying I have not paid for it. I have emailed them back and told them I have proof that I haven’t had a refund. They are now demanding I send the vacuum back. Avoid at all cost

I ordered a cordless hoover on 10th of May, I had emails telling me it was on its way but since 'apparently ' arriving in UK it has been lost! I can not get a refund because their system can't refund whilst showing 'in transit' I get that but it doesn't Solve my problem £195.00 down, very little communication and no hoover.. Looks like I am going to have to suck it up and accept I won't see a hoover or my money back. Be very careful of this company

I am only giving one star as there…

I am only giving one star as there isn’t an option to give none. The worst company I have ever dealt with, they give excuse after excuse not to refund. You can’t say it’s because they are Chinese owned as Temu credit almost immediately. Do not order from this un reputable company, I wish I had read the reviews before I did 😡

I ordered a robot vacuum online on 10/4/26. I cancelled the next day before it had been dispatched. I received an email from Orazum on 13/4/26 saying I would receive a full refund of £278.99 which was the cost of the vacuum and postage. The order was never posted. I received a refund of £251.09 on 13/4/26. A shortage of £27.90. I emailed Orazum for an explanation as to why the full refund was short of what was paid. I was told this was for banking charges. The payment was made by debit card. According to the distance selling law I am entitled to a full refund of goods and postage costs. I am waiting a response from Orazum as to why they have broken the UK consumer law. You can draw your own conclusions as to the level of customer service this company provides.
