Grok Build 0.1 is very much obviously a 0.1 in performance

Grok Build 0.1 is pretty lacking as a coding agent and some terminals.
- I can't use the keyboard to select text.
- Ctrl + A doesn't select the whole prompt in case I decide I want to put that into a different session instead of waiting for the current session to complete.
- Windows-based keystrokes in the TUI using the Mac version such as trying to paste with Command + V and for this one agent, you use Ctrl + V plus all the other Command-related keystrokes that don't function here.
- Without installing another terminal, you can't navigate to or click on links, images, or other files it displays and have to go find the path outside of the TUI to view the content it is referencing.
- At the time of this writing, no GUI or MacOS friendly GUI in sight.
- The permissions control is too loose
- Spent my first 5% of a weekly usage limit trying to make a wrapper that would let me at least use my keystrokes and text navigation, but that was in vain despite Grok confidently telling me that everything was working. Skill issues of a prompt padawan.

Out of the box, it makes a lot of mistakes and gets lazy.
For example, I started a blank project and used a prompt that I use to benchmark a model. Grok copied and pasted from another model's output in a different folder, presented it to me as its work, and called it a day.

Grok Build 0.1 has been confidently wrong and ignores existing project rules even when asked to read the project rules first. And when you have a conversation with it to go over its understanding of what you're asking for and it says "Got it", it comes back and ignoring the things it said it was going to do. It'll even ignore things it puts on the screen such as a UI that indicates "Enter" confirms and the Enter key does nothing and you can't close out of a window Grok Build generated without closing the app.

I've also found the agent ignoring rules that I established and starting to hardcode each variable of a use case as a separate function. If it had continued, I would've had 54 more functions and 5000 more lines of code than the single reusable function that the agent rules proposed it to be.

My initial time with Grok Build 0.1 has been so disappointing that I can't fathom relying on it for anything critical, let alone just home projects outside of an initial pass at a web page. And I guess this is where it is very much a 0.1.

The main reason this isn't a 1-star is that a Grok subscription does come with the chat (that can be largely inaccurate or misleading if you're looking for something more technical or recent) and Grok Imagine if you wanted to quickly generate a bunch of text art, static effects, stock photos, stock animations, and some nonsensical videos.

But good luck trying to manage your files with the web interface or finding something that was generated and didn't favorite, or getting consistent lip sync with characters. This does a bit better with Grok Imagine's generated images than uploaded images from other AI image generation. But if you have something you like, you can extend it up to 30 seconds. Or keep regenerating fairly quickly to see another take at the prompt.

So I got it to try Grok Build 0.1, but playing around more with Grok Imagine instead.

I couldn't recommend it at this time.

I signed up to super grok heavy the highest tier for $300 a month on basis it say almost unlimited however I kept hitting limits after 20-30 720p videos 10secs each. Misrepresentation. They then brough in daily usage limits and reduced my fee to $100 a month and just recently have brought in weekly usage limit without warning which means you can use if you want all your uasage amount in day or in a week and then pay more to buy more credit. What rubbish. The image and video creation is now worst then what it was in January. Almost everything is moderated and blocked yet use your allowance. Images are created with 2 pairs of feet or missing fingers. It is no longer worth what it was meant to be and not worth the amount. It can only get worst and more limited or moderated given the company is now trading and any claims against grok will affect the company's share value. Grok also now needs to be profit making.

Daily limits turned to WEEKLY, cut limit amounts AND the chat is now also part of this weekly limit!

This program for the last several months has been my go-to for story building, project organization and random banter-oriented questions (stupid things like what the 40k tech priests would think of various tech like the Big Boy locomotive due to the recent multi-state wide tour it's doing.) I enjoyed it...

Sure it had its limitations, it had its censorship problems on the image generator, but the chat was reliably there to enjoy even if the images were capped out at a daily limit.

Then Grok started getting filtered so hard that even basic safe-for-work prompts on imagine were being limited (things like swim-wear, open jackets, crop tops, scenery, specific poses *even when clothed or not even remotely used in a way that involved nsfw content, for example picking up a weapon off the ground would be censored if it was a female picking it up!)

Now they have changed the daily limit to WEEKLY limits, which also involve chat tokens! which means even if you only use the system for chatting you are likely to hit a wall where you can no longer use the system that you are paying a premium price to use. This is no longer something tolerable.

These changes are being done without notice, without VISUAL CONFIRMATION to the users, without thinking about the consequences, and without a care about anything beyond profit margins. I cannot, and WILL NOT support a subscription based application like this that treats its users like nothing more than a BANK NOTE.

i want to warn everybody : don't pay for Grok because you receive nothing : everything is censored, direct "limit reached" ; not worth any cent. You will see it when you try Grok : it's terrible, my experience, i'm affraid.

What went wrong is the limits for a paid subscription feel like the limits you should get on a free tier. I was a SuperGrok subscriber for 6 months and each month that went by, it just got worse. Now with the new weekly limits, it is the worst value for money option around. Stay away and save your money. You WILL be disappointed in what you get. I'm done wasting my time and money on this joke of a company.

Paid $300 Supergrok annual…

Paid $300 Supergrok annual subscription, after Grok itself told me of the expected image and video generation rates. 200 images per day, etc. Hell, 100 would be good. 70 would be good). In fact it is more like 12-25. And 12 videos. Now it has moved to an even more dreadful system, giving a weekly allowance, which is even smaller. I generate relatively simple vids and images. With chats, images, videos, I will probably get 10 videos, 10 images and 50 chats per week. 100% useless. Don't even think about paying for Supergrok. Get a few free X accounts or find a totally different system. Once my year runs out, I'm never giving them another penny.

I fired grok

I have used Grok successfully for videos in the past, but recently the video generation has become unreliable and inaccurate. As a real estate professional, I need videos that represent the actual property and location truthfully.

For one listing, I uploaded photos of a home at the end of a cul-de-sac and an aerial image showing the nearby Intracoastal Waterway about a quarter mile away. Grok repeatedly placed the house directly on the water, changed the house completely, and made the property look like a luxury waterfront home. That is not what I asked for, and it is misleading for real estate marketing.

After approximately 15 redrafts, the videos continued to ignore the instructions and misrepresent the listing. Grok may still be good for flyers and written marketing, but the video tool is currently too inaccurate for real estate use. I cannot recommend it for listing videos until it can follow uploaded photos and preserve the actual property details. Ive notified their team of the issues and never received a reply.

Grok app and Grok.com are two different things

Title: Paid $300 for nothing – Chat history still doesn’t sync

I bought a full year of SuperGrok because Grok told me my chat history would sync between the iPhone app and desktop.

It doesn’t. Even when logged into the same account, chats do not sync between devices. I was given incorrect information and wasted $300. Found this out only about an hour after buying the annual Super Grok subscription. No money back possible according to Grok itself.
Very disappointed.

X Premium for Grok AI is a total SCAM.

Absolute scam and help is flat out does not exist when complaint is on reference to a request for a refund. No support ticket can be generated within X platform and Grok mocks any failed attempt increasing with every failed attempt. X premium help desk dl.not even reply if the communication includes any request for refund. Do not use this very expensive fraudulent service, the worst product I have ever paid for in my entire life.

Charged for a Service I Couldn’t Use — No Support, No Refund

Purchased Super Grok to assist with work related project. From the first day I began using Super Grok it would not function as it kept telling me that it was under "heavy usage" and that I should try again later.

While Super Grok was being throttled and not allowing me to utilize my paid for subscription, I was being asked to upgrade to Super Grok.

From there I checked my account info at Grok.com and it had no record of my purchasing a subscription. However, my credit card statement stated otherwise.

I had sent e mails indicating there where problems as I was hoping to have the issue remedied and utilize Super Grok. There was no response after repeated requests. So, halfway into my subsection I e mailed Grok.com and asked to have my subscription cancelled and once again, no response. Was not provided with conformation of my cancelled subscription, so as far as I know I will be charged again.

To sum up my issue, I paid for Super Grok , was never able to utilize the product and have never heard back from Grok.com

Really am surprised at how poor this company treats it's paid subscribers.

This is a lousy program

This is a lousy program. It's censors every video you do and then tells you you can't use any more video generation today because you've used your limit. I will not be renewing after my 3-month payment. I feel like this program has been one giant ripoff. Don't do it folks you will regret it.

Message links are annoying

They’ve changed the free limit message and made the message limit shorter. I use the web version since the app UI is annoying to use

It’s ok for work and role plays and stuff but other than that, the message limits are annoying and it’s constantly pushing the subscription which is 30AUD a month. A MONTH. For simply an ai that doesn’t have as strict controls like chatpgt
