Family run for three generations, Beattys celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2011; having first opened our doors in 1931. We began trading as a small grocery, hardware, and grain store on Church Street, Loughrea. Our longevity can be primarily attributed to the ongoing support of the local community and our staff’s dedication to providing exceptional advice, value, and service to our valued customers
The team of more than 40 staff at Beattys has a wealth of experience and product knowledge. Over half of the staff members have been working in Beattys for 15 years or more.
Our Stores
Beattys has two separate locations in Loughrea, Co. Galway. The Station Road premises is a fully stocked builders’ merchant with plumbing, bathroom, timber flooring, and hire departments as well as a complete range of agricultural feeds and fertiliser. The Main Street/Church Street premises is a 15,000 square feet retail outlet stocking an extensive range in each of the following departments: housewares, interior furnishing, electrical, DIY, toys, paint, and gardening. To ensure we have the best prices possible, we are part of 3 buying groups, Topline hardware, Euronics Electrical, and Toymaster. We endeavor to stock many interesting and unique products, especially in the housewares and interior furnishing departments. If you’re looking for something different, we have it.
Local Community
We show our appreciation to the Loughrea community for this ongoing support by engaging in fundraising efforts, and we regularly host fun events for our customers. In 2013 we organised a Shave or Dye event where 35 people either shaved off or dyed their hair on the night in Beattys, raising more than €10,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.

Placing fridge/freezer into position, poor.
Delivery was good and efficient, however your policy of dropping a large fridge freezer in the kitchen downstairs was not satisfactory. How do you expect an older person to manhandle this large unit into position. It was not an integrated unit . No attempt to offer removal of packing.

Beware No Refund Given
Beware - they never refund.
I made a purchase it did not work for my space when I brought it home. Therefore was 'not working' for me.
When I questioned why ..I was made to feel like 'how dare you' even ask from the man at the back counter. Left feeling like a criminal - with a credit note. Dont feel excited about purchasing from here again .... maybe paint when I have to. Very dissapointed loyal customer - I have spent plenty here over the years.

From ordering to delivery the service has been excellent. My robot lawnmower arrived on time and in perfect condition. The email contact with Beattys was perfect and kept me very well informed.

Phoned Beattys for information on stihl hedgetrimmers I was going to purchase and got all the information I needed from very helpfull staff member. Ordered online and hedgetrimmer arrived in Drogheda 36 hours later, 35 euros cheaper than i could get it in Drogheda.Would highly recommend Beattys for excellent service and value.

Excellent Service and Quality Garden Set
I ordered the Hartman Berkeley Cast Aluminium 6-Seater Round Set with 2.5m parasol on Saturday night, and it arrived on Thursday afternoon — perfect timing for the good weather. The set was exactly as described on the website, and I’m delighted with the quality.
Overall, I couldn’t fault my experience with Beattys and I would happily recommend them for their fast service and quality products.
