An post overvalued the item and added the uk postage as the value of the item. So an item value of 20 euro was inflated to 75 euro. When you speak to a customer service assistant, they hang up the ca... See more

What an absolute rip off!!
What an absolute rip off!!! €15 to delivery a tiny 6mm wide machine belt from the UK. Last time I'll be using their service
"Click and Collect" service and the…
"Click and Collect" service and the staff from An post St Andrew Street I chose for the delivery acts as an intermediary between the central postal hub—where all parcels arrive—and the local post offices near customers' homes. They log the parcel in the system as "delivered," treating the post office as if it were the buyer's home address location; this is incorrect and confusing, as the customer does not live at the post office. The post office merely collects the parcels on the customer's behalf, sorts them, and holds them for five working days before returning them to the sender's address. Although I went there twice, I was told the parcel didn't exist—which implies the staff are lying, given that the tracking number indicates otherwise; the parcel is actually at their facility, having been delivered there for storage and subsequent pickup by the customer upon presentation of ID. I have previously complained about this same issue—that the An Post "Click and Collect" service fails to correctly log deliveries in the system, and that local post offices do not actually constitute the buyer's place of residence.
Got an email from An post saying they…
Got an email from An post saying they delivered my parcel and it’s in a safe spot? I checked with my neighbour had they took it off them for me but they didn’t. I checked my door step hallway still no sign of my parcel. I rang An post and they said it was left on top of letter boxes I have no letter boxes outside my place so it was clearly delivered to the wrong address in some other estate I don’t know where and now it’s still there or either stolen I rang An post at 2pm and didn’t hear nothing back the delivery driver doesn't even bother his hole to ring you. Absolutely terrible delivery service always problems with parcels.
Truly dreadful
Truly dreadful. Ordered a book which An Post says was delivered, but it never arrived. An Post claims it was incorrectly addressed, despite the correct Eircode being used. They refused to provide photographic proof of delivery, and the supposed signature is nothing more than a squiggle, certainly not mine. It gives the impression the delivery was simply signed for by whoever delivered it. I’ve paid for a book I haven’t received and am now left trying to resolve the issue between the retailer and An Post.
Repeated delays
Repeated delays, unreliable tracking, a lost parcel, and consistently poor customer service.
Unfortunately, this is not based on one bad experience. I have had repeated problems with An Post, particularly with international parcels after they arrive in Ireland.
In a previous delivery, my parcel reached the An Post depot and then simply disappeared from the normal delivery process. It remained stuck there for around ten days. I contacted An Post because there was clearly something wrong, but instead of getting a useful explanation or actual solution, I received responses that did not reflect what was really happening with the parcel. Eventually, that parcel was effectively lost in their system.
At the same time, I had another parcel sent only a couple of days apart. That one actually reached my selected collection point — except An Post never updated the tracking to say it was there. I only discovered it because I physically went to the post office and asked. Had I trusted their tracking system, I could have continued waiting for a parcel that was already sitting there.
Now it is happening again.
My latest parcel was posted in the Netherlands on 28 July and had already reached An Post by 2 August. On 7 August at 06:48, An Post updated the tracking to “out for delivery.”
I selected a collection point specifically because I no longer trust their home-delivery process. I went to the post office approximately 15 minutes before closing, after the parcel had supposedly been “out for delivery” all day. It was not there.
When I asked the staff how that was possible, I was effectively told that “out for delivery” does not mean anything, and unless the tracking says it has actually been delivered to the collection point, they do not have it.
Then what is the point of tracking?
If a parcel has been marked “out for delivery” since 06:48 in the morning, it is completely reasonable for a customer to expect that it will actually be delivered that day. Instead, the parcel has now spent days inside the An Post system after travelling internationally without a problem.
Because the collection point is closed over the weekend, the absolute earliest I can now receive it is Monday, 10 August — assuming it even arrives then.
Home delivery is not a better alternative either. I have previously experienced supposed delivery attempts where no meaningful attempt appeared to have been made. Then the customer has to wait for a paper collection notice, which can itself take several more days. Without the notice, collecting the parcel can become another problem, followed by having to travel kilometres to retrieve something that was supposedly being delivered to your home.
This is why I started selecting collection points in the first place. Yet even with collection-point delivery, parcels can sit in the system for days, tracking may not be updated when the parcel actually arrives, and the customer is left guessing.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the international carriers are not the common problem. I have had parcels sent through different companies, including DHL and PostNL. They make it to Ireland. The recurring problems begin when An Post takes over the final mile.
A parcel should not be able to travel across Europe faster than An Post can move it the final few kilometres in Dublin.
After experiencing a lost parcel, another parcel arriving without any tracking update, repeated delays, misleading or useless information, questionable “delivery attempt” procedures, and now another parcel sitting in their system despite being marked “out for delivery,” I have completely lost confidence in this service.
If I had the option to prevent international parcels from being handed over to An Post in Ireland, I would choose another final-mile carrier every single time.
One star is generous.
Never again
At one time I used addresspal regularly but won't be using it again. The €15 charge before customs is just an absolute joke. An Post should be ashamed of themselves charging such high fees for a service that once cost less than €5
Waste of time and money.
AdressPal - avoid. Lots of additional costs. Delivery takes ages.
1st to pay - 4,95& - amount for the seller to send it to the AnPost hub.
2nd - 15€ - AnPost charges separately to send it further.
3 - 16€ custom charges
If you refuse the customs - the parcel will go back to the AnPost hub ( it took 2 weeks!!!).
4.
AnPost WILL NOT send it to the original seller - you have to organize and pay the courier.
Parcel was send 19th of June. It took until 20th of July to bring it back to the UK hub and that is not end of the journey...
Costs as far - around 31€, plus "courier back" charge.

BIG THANK YOU an Post Team!
A massive thank you to the An Post team, especially our dedicated postmen and postladies covering the Clifden and Connemarra countryside! While other expensive couriers consistently fail to deliver in rural areas and offer weak excuses like 'fake attempted delivery,' the An Post crew always comes through. For the last 5 years, they have delivered hundreds of our Temu and Amazon parcels promptly, without damage, and exactly on time, regardless of weather or road conditions. They are true professionals. We rely on An Post for all our local and international orders—keep up the fantastic work!
Yours very happy customers
Anpost should have a decent customer…
Anpost should have a decent customer service representative to answer queries via calls and chat considering of the number of customers it caters. But their customer service is non existence. No one answers the chat questions.
Per tracking it is already delivered but I have not received anything.
Avoid Addresspal if possible
Avoid Addresspal if possible. It has now moved too far away from the convenience we had before to get some stuff more cheaply from the UK. I ordered some stuff (around €38) from the UK. I had to pay €15.00 to Addresspal, which they have increased from €6.50 to more than double within a year or so. Add insult to injury, I had to pay €15.70 as customs charges, and €6.95 of it is admin fees for Addresspal (An Post). Avoid this like the plague.

Rubbish of a company
Rubbish of a company! My whole building has already filled a complaint against our delivery man, he is the rudest, ignorant, most unprofessional worker I have the displeasure to come across. Been waiting awake since 7AM for a parcel supposed to arrive today, I work from home so I am always here. At 11:30 my doorbell rings, and I go RUNNING to meet him there as I know he always has the "Missed delivery Letter" ready to put in our mail boxes and leaves. I meet him at the front door, he is putting letters in people's mail boxes, holding my parcel. I say hello, and he completely blanks me. I am standing an arm away from him. Does not acknowledge me, and leaves. I go back inside my house to get the key to open my mail box, to find what I knew what would be there: a missed delivery note filled. Now I have to go collect it, even though I was waiting beside the delivery man to have my package. Everytime a parcel is handled by An Post, I know I will have to end up collecting. Why do we pay delivery for? Online support is also a Joke, they send you to fill a complaint and nothing ever happens, and they close the chat on your face. If you go personally to Ravensdale and try to talk to a manager, they fob you off and tell you to fill the form online, and even worse, they say there are no managers available. An Post is a disgrace for this country!
Fantastic fast service
Fantastic service. Was able to order from a Spanish company who do not deliver to Ireland. The parcel arrived at addresspal in the UK and on the same day I received notification of the customs charges. Paid that and the parcel was then delivered to my home address 2 days later. Very impressive delivery window.
Would highly recommend using addresspal for companies who don't deliver to Ireland. Fast, efficient service.
I used to use it alot in the past but thought it had ceased following brexit, not so thankfully.
I should be allowed to give 0 star…
I should be allowed to give 0 star .This is a complete rip off.Bought an item on eBay for 20euros and then an post charged me 15 euros to get it delivered to Ireland and then They asked me to pay 18.75 euros for custom and VAT.It is a trap stay away form this company altogether
AddressPal - your worst nightmare
AddressPal - packages get opened during handling by AddressPal and not packaged back correctly resulting in a damaged delivered product. When confronted, Addresspal refused to take responsobility and blamed somebody else.
Addresspal is a rip off. AVOID!!!
AddressPal is a rip off. Paid 15 euros for 2 baseball caps (inc. VAT and shipping from the UK). However, by the An Post, the customs value was 28.76 euros, so they charged me almost 14 euros (VAT and handling fee) + 15 euros (for using AddressPal), so I had to pay almost 30 euro extra in total, just to get the 15 euro package. AVOID!!!
An post have become untrustworthy
An post have become untrustworthy. I've been living in my estate for 20 years. An post or local post man have been fantastic. A reliable service.
In the recent months they have changed dramatically. We don't get a daily service anymore. The post could arrive at 11am or 6pm or anything in-between. The packages are dumped outside the door and abandoned. We now have a problem with thieves and porch pirates. We never had this before.
It's become so bad that I can't order a package anymore. Not something that won't fit in my letterbox. It will be stolen. It's not the postman stealing these it's the local scumbags.
Addresspal are thieves
Addresspal charge ridiculous prices for their services, regardless of the size of item & price e.g. £3 they'll charge 5 times that price to post it to you. Bunch of thieves they are. Don't use their service AVOID!!!!
AddressPal are the worst delivery service I have ever dealt with.
AddressPal are the worst delivery service I have ever dealt with. My package was delivered to the addresspal office on 2nd Feb and I finally received it (after numerous follow-up phone calls to addresspal ireland) on 23 Feb - it took over 3 weeks to get a small package from their office in the US to my address in Ireland. I paid all payments and customs charges immediately when I was notified.
At one stage I asked addresspal ireland to pick up the phone and contact their office in the US to find out what was happening with my package and the answer I got was "we don't have a phone number for our office in the US, we can only contact them by email" !!!!! This is 2026, with AI and chatbots being introduced everywhere, yet addresspal can't even phone from one office to another because they don't have a phone number for their US office.
DHL or UPS would probably have delivered the package in 2 days, with addresspal it's 22 days!!!
