Traditional is one thing...
Booking process was fine and reasonably straightforward. However, getting to some of the finer details was incredibly difficult - such as the days of some of the trips on the itinerary. We went to Marrakech. The whole trip started badly - not the fault of SE - as the plane landed in Fes not Marrakech - due to fog. No arrangements were made by Ryanair [BEWARE!] and we had a £240 9 hour taxi ride to Marrakech that we hadn't planned on! However, the guide still managed to meet us successfully albeit 12 hours late!
My one and only major gripe was the Riad: yes we opted for this in the heart of the old town for a traditional experience. However, the room was incredibly basic - bed, 2 lamps, wardrobe with no hangers, and a bathroom fitted very poorly. It also stunk of sewage. We were only there one night as we then left for the mountains. But were returning there three days later.
The Atlas Spa was amazing and a total different ballgame! Couldn't fault it.
We returned to the Riad; different room - same basics - so I asked for hangers - given 2! Suitcases on the floor is not a 5 star experience. At least this room didn't smell, but it was basic!
No-ne in the hotel wanted to do anything without being tipped [taxis, tuk-tuk, toilet roll etc]. The riad itself was also down a dark alley - frequented by 'groups' at night - would not recommend as a 'family friendly' option. the breakfast was different every day - so didn't know what to expect and couldn't order as such ...it just came!
All left us a bit out of sorts for a 5 star experience.
Having said all that the tour guides and pick ups/transfers could not have been better.
We did the Balloon ride which was amazing and would thoroughly recommend, unlike the riad 'experience'!
