Wessex Water - Consistently Good.
Wessex Water have consistently provided an excellent service.
When the pandemic struck, as many others, I fell into debt and suffered from ill health. I opted to go on a metered supply to save money. As WW stated, I immediately saved a great deal, my water bill falling at times when away a lot to just £7 per month; I now pay just £19.50 and some three times less than the standard monthly charge. I remember the water meter installer as a great guy, really nice to talk to.
They often put out helpful flyers, and their public website is choc full of interesting advice and well-written explanations about matters more technical.
If you read this review, and have been wondering about changing to a metered supply, where you are a small family you should save a considerable amount. Of course, self-control and water use go hand in hand. Thing is, I never left the tap running when cleaning my teeth - good habit! Further, as I have a power-shower, I am acutely aware of how much water I could consume; once again, it’s about self-control.
I usually shower in less that 2 minutes: 1) Get in cubicle, stand away, turn on water, as soon as warming get under; 2) Soak, then turn off water- 30 secs! 3) Shampooing and soaping with shower off - always. 4) Thorough body rinse - 1 min! 5) Spray with Cif for showers ‘Power and Shine’; 6) Using hand shower, rinse off and squeegee down - 1min 45 secs. Easy. I’m clean, and no cleaner than someone who just stands for ages getting warm. By being frugal in other areas, such as: not flushing every pee, washing larger loads, not running tap too hard when washing up, not using dishwasher for a few items, buying higher eco-rated machines, shallow kettle, water butts, etc-etc we can all save a bomb and our reservoirs.
No hesitation in giving a 5 star rating to Wessex Water.
