DHL delivered to complete wrong address.
Ordered urgent goods for family to take to overseas as presents. Paid for guaranteed next day delivery. Company sent the goods immediately and advised me the goods would arrive in good time. Great I thought, then I seen DHL were to be the carrier! My heart sank rapidly. My previous experiences with DHL deliveries was dire to say the least. But hey, be positive, i told myself. I'm sitting by the front door all day, goods are guaranteed next day, the weather is good, what can possibly go wrong I said!? Enter DHL! DHL, that's what can and went wrong! Got an email to say item will be delivered early afternoon by DHL. Great. Then another email to say driver running late! Not so great. Then another message around 4pm to check for latest updates online. Uh,uh! I was finally advised that DHL had delivered my goods to a neighbour two doors down??? No doorbell, no knocks, no DHL card left?? Puzzled I went two doors down to be told there was nothing there for me and I walked away feeling like a fool! Since then, for the past 24 hours I have been chasing DHL for an explanation but nothing heard back to date. I then chased the supplier this evening and they contacted DHL to be informed that DHL had informed them that their driver had in fact delivered my package to another completely different named street, house number and postcode about a mile from my house. In a nutshell to a random address with no connection to my address. Even the supplier cannot understand how DHL could get that wrong. Apparently the reason for the DHL error was down to the driver's GPS!! Now I've heard it all!! How can that possibly be when it was clearly my address and postcode on the delivery?? Now apparently the DHL driver at some point has to return to the incorrect address, apologise, pick up my parcel and then try to redeliver to me. Next day delivery is what i was promised! Joke!. Absolute joke. So needless to say my family never got the goods in time and I now have to return the goods to the original supplier as they are useless to me now. That's if and when i ever actually receive them. So all in all no winners in this situation. If I see any future supplier who deliver using DHL then I've promised myself to skidaddle and shop elsewhere pronto. Not worth the worry and risk.
