SHADOW ROCK LP Spares

In summary: Be-Quiet were unable to supply me with 4 tiny screws for a current SHADOW ROCK LP.

I asked for support and after a number of business passed with no reply I sent a chaser email.

Its subsequent initial rude interaction was patronising and very unhelpful.

They don't sell parts for this current fan, but 'Wishing you a wonderful week ahead'.

Unlikely as I now have to source the 4 screws myself, as the manufacturers are incapable.

They did offer me a full mounting kit for another fan, that cost more than the original fan I had purchased.

When I asked for the kit name, or for which fan, so I could try and source cheaper in the UK, they chose not to reply at all.

I believe the term is 'ghosted' me, I just call it unprofessional incompetence.

I thought Germany was full on 'right to repair', clearly not, some companies did not get the memo.

Will recycle the fan and choose a better fan company.

Sky India call to ask if we will be in on our 2 times revised install date. We state, of course we have been waiting many months for this.

Sat, Jan 31 • 08:56- We can't wait to get you up and running with Sky Broadband and Talk soon. * They lied, they cancelled our order with no notice *

After our order was cancelled by Openreach/sky we asked for a reason from Sky and were given a short vague jargon riddled note left by Openreach. It meant nothing and we asked for formal clarification, the reasons and timescales, none of which have been provided.

We were left with no choice but to log a formal complaint.

Ordered 17th October 2025, and still to date Feb 16th 2026, we have no reason for the cancellation, no explanation from Openreach, just a coded message that only they can understand.

The level of incompetence is staggering while to date both Openreach and Sky advertise our property as available for full fibre now and we are still with our old provider.

If only we had someone holding these companies to account.

Oh wait we have @Ofcom, lol.

Edit, post reply.
Hello Laura
Thank you for the prompt reply.
We would welcome your intervention if that would expedite the explanations that we feel are due to us.

That said, It is not our intention to conduct our complaint on an advertising platform, such as you mention.

I can supply the official complaint number if that helps you understand the situation further.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of what you’ve been through. I’m really sorry for the long and incredibly frustrating experience you’ve had since placing your order back in October 2025. After months of waiting, multiple revised appointments, and repeated confusion between Sky and Openreach, you should never have been left without answers — especially when your property continues to show as eligible for Full Fibre.
The lack of communication around your installation, the sudden cancellation of your order without notice, and the vague explanation you were given fall far below the standard you should expect. Being passed between updates, sales calls, and automated messages while still not receiving the service you ordered must have been incredibly disappointing, and I completely understand why you’ve felt the need to escalate a formal complaint.

I’m also really sorry that after all of this, you were still asked to return equipment and even prompted for feedback, which should not have been your experience while your complaint remained unresolved.

I’d really like the chance to look into your case directly, understand what happened with your installation request, and see whether there’s anything further that can be done to bring clarity or support you with next steps. If you’re willing, please reach out to me using the links below so I can help:

Reading Dacia

Reading Dacia - Martins Group

Agreed a package for a new Dacia Sandaro Auto with 'The Manager' at this garage on the 18th August 2025, with only a test drive of the car needed to complete the deal.

The garage failed to arrange a test drive before the end of August 2025, when they said the deal would expire.

They failed to find a Dacia Auto they claim, and didn't have the professionalism to even call back and explain.

Rather impotent garage, who are unable to do even very basic car sales.

Looking at the Dacia UK service and support reviews on trustpilot, we dodged a bullet; so thank you Martins Dacia in Reading for being incompetent.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m genuinely sorry to hear about your experience.

This certainly isn’t the level of communication or service we aim to provide. We understand how disappointing it must have been not to have the test drive arranged in time, especially after discussing a potential deal. We should have kept you updated clearly and promptly, and I apologise that this didn’t happen.

If you’d be open to it, we’d really appreciate the chance to look into what went wrong and see if there is anything we can do to put things right. Please feel free to contact our Reading Dacia management team directly at your convenience.

Thank you again for your feedback - it helps us improve, and we’re sorry that we fell short on this occasion.

Poor security practices

Sainsbury, regarding security, do you actually know what you are doing?

An elderly relative is trying to use your grocery services, but is unable due to your bizarre security stance.

You allow 2 separate old android phones with no security patches for 4 years to use your delightful app, but you actively block a Graphene OS, a hardened, locked bootloader android device that is brand new with ALL current security patches applied and the official Play Store.

Why is that?

1) You don't like elderly people using your services?
2) You prefer old insecure devices using your delightful app?
3) You prefer people with secure devices to go elsewhere?
4) You don't know what you are doing?
5) All of the above?

I rang the number on your secure official Play Store account app info to try and get some help and some random guy in London said, 'oh yeh, they really must take my number off their system'.

Morrisons and Asda work fine, but Sainsbury seems in the dark.

From the official Play Store reviews it is not an isolated incident and has not been resolved, but it is a shame you treat your customers with such contempt.

Charger failed in warranty

Charger failed in warranty, now only deflection and delays from Anker.

I purchased an Anker charger, and it stopped charging within the warranty period.

I have had communication from 10+ service agents asking for the same repeated information (that has already been provided) and regurgitating scripted responses for the last 3 weeks.

The manager is worse than the other agents and will only give a refund through their Chinese bank account (needing an invasive amount of personal data), instead of the original payment method, debit card, or PayPal; or a 10% 'good will gesture' on another purchase, while not honouring the existing products advertised warranty.

They refuse to refund through these alternative methods and even though the same product is in stock they state it is not in stock for warranty replacement, only new sales.

It appears clear that this company sells products in the UK, but does it's very best to deflect and delay to not adhere to UK rules.

If you don't want weeks of stress and incompetent scripted responses, you'd be better shopping elsewhere.

Bose QC20

Took some QC20 headphones in on Tuesday 10th September for a replacement battery, and they looked on their mobile for a while and said yes okay, we will contact you if we are unable to get into the device.

They then lectured me on they do not use eBay due to the quality of the items and I said okay and left it with them.

Friday 13th Sept, I rang and spoke to a young man who told me the owner would call me back asap. To date they have not rung back.

Today 17th Sept, I went into the store to enquire how it was progressing.

The owner proceeded to tell me they had damaged the item in two places while opening it, and they were waiting for the battery to arrive in before fitting.

I asked how long that may take and after checking the owner stated he had not ordered the battery at all, and I would need to order one from eBay.

I frustratingly stated I could have ordered that battery a week ago if I had known and the owner proceeded to push the headphones into my hand and asked me to leave the store, while then attempting to blame me.

Frankly if a store is not capable of repairing an item they should say so from the start and not waste peoples time, or try to blame the customer for it, when they have failed.

I now have an opened and damaged item, without a replacement battery.

So after visiting helpivebrokenit.co.uk, I am worse off than I was before I went.

Tried calling today to ask what their justification was for still allowing large API + increases a few months into contracts in 2024.

I was left listening to an automated phone response and no answer to the call.

Perhaps closing the regulator and putting those resources and funds towards improving the industries they purport to regulate would be more beneficial.

UK made? Disappointed by the quality.

Very disappointed as wanted to support a UK company.

New circa 300 GBP wax jacket started to fall apart after 6 weeks from new.

I queried if the product was indeed made in the UK and I did not get a reply.

Email conversation took 2 weeks, with slow Barbour responses between mails and I finally decided to get a refund.

Refund was processed quickly, but that was the only positive I took from this experience.

Continual issues for a commodity service. Inept billing dept.

Edit 010425 18 month update.

* Discounts given are not coterminous, so run out mid-year, causing further price increases on top of the annual RPI changes. A third price increase in a 2-year agreement just hit, and they still offer discounted rates to new customers and deny their low start price and hike the price sales tactics. Add on services are added automatically, and you have to wait on the phone to try and get them removed multiple times, as billing are inept. Billing refunds are a month after they occur, even though they made the error. Refused any further discounts and happy for us to leave. This is a basic commodity service and after 18 months of issues we cannot wait to leave on that exact contract end date (else we incur penalties). Awful *

Broadband is okay, decent speed and reliable, but the billing department continues to bill me for Onestream Assured while the team confirm I have never had that service. Only small incorrect partial refunds have been given, and I have to wait for the next billing month to see if things have been corrected again. After speaking with support, they raised a credit, which was still incorrect. These are small amounts, but still, it surely cannot be that difficult to get, right? I have had to contact Onestream 6 times to get billing errors corrected. Maths anyone.
Edit: Megan, no, not if you are able to do basic arithmetic.
Edit 290124: With all the facts, Megan quickly and effectively resolved the billing and dealt with my issues. Thank you. I am of course pleased, but disappointed I could only get traction from leaving this review.
Edit: 280324: 4 months into a contract and they are already putting my price up. At least wait a year before doing it, as 4 months in is a disgrace. Support asked for all on my account details and then gave me a boilerplate response. Why waste more of my time asking to complete security, to give me a boilerplate response? Very poor. Chat will not allow me to create a complaint.
* Edit 311024:* Signed up for a 2-year deal at a price, and they inform me today they only apply the discount for 1 year, not 2, so the 2 year deal price is for *1 year only*, then they hike the price for the 2nd year. *Buyer beware* Don't waste time with chat, they are unable to help in most cases.

Worst meal out post covid.

We went to our local PE recently, which prior to covid was great, nice food etc....now, very poor, no thanks.

We started with battered calamari which tasted like old oil, with the calamari having rubbery sinew around them. Not a pleasant start, which we fed back to our waiter.

The pizza with a hole in the middle (Leggera) had a cavernous hole now with 1 1/2 inches of actual pizza. I had to laugh.

We asked for balsamic dressing for the salad and got olive oil.

Increased prices, less food, average service and no offers.

Overall it was very expensive for what we had and not very nice.

Post COVID, it might be tougher, but other places are making an effort, and are value for money, excellent food and pleasant service.

Pizza Express are none of those and we will not be back.

Rude, over talking and no knowledge customer services

In 2018, we bought a J-Bed folding bed from Amazon, and we have been very happy with it since, until today, when we enquired about a mattress upgrade.

Speaking to Anya first, she was lovely and knowledgable, put us through to a single supplier who could supply the only other mattress suitable for the J-bed.

The supplier stated the mattress was memory foam and came with no warranty, both were hard to believe (as the jay-be ethos seemed to be no foam), so we again contacted j-beds directly for clarification.

This time we spoke with *az and the experience was far different ... he was rude, over talked repeatedly so never heard the questions being asked, and appeared to have no knowledge of the products he was supporting / selling.

He had to ask someone if the mattress had a warranty and did not know if the mattress was memory foam.

He repeatedly stated multiple mattresses were available for that bed, and we should speak to the supplier we spoke with.

We stated, well you are the manufacturer and is it not the case that if the customer already has 1 of the 2 suitable mattresses then there is only 1 remaining suitable mattress, not multiple as he repeatedly stated.

The line went dead, (he assured us he did not hang up) and we had to call back, this time dialling a different option on the telephone, in order to ask for a manager, but alas still getting through to *az

Asking for the manager, this time, he abruptly stated they were not available, and again we tried to get an answer to whether this one suitable mattress had memory foam.

He finally said angrily, NO.

Finally, an answer, after 3 phone calls and utterly incompetent customer services / sales, who clearly did not know anything about the products we were asking about.

We forgot about how lovely Anya was and shall only remember *az, rude, over talking and no knowledge customer services.

Unable to compute my bill after a forced meter change - Beware

**
Edit 020921: We emailed your CEO as you requested 16 days ago and have not had any communication from Octopus Energy since.

Our follow ups for status updates have been ignored.

It is disappointing and unprofessional that Octopus Energy do not wish to keep us appraised of our complaint status over 1 month since being raised formally (many more months since raising the issue itself).

Any update from Ocopus Energy would be welcome.
**

For a number of months all seemed well, until a forced gas meter change by National Grid in March 2021.

To date Octopus is unable to compute our bill while I have continued to pay the electricity, I am unable to get a true usage in order to review my options for a tariff change or supplier swap in a few days.

Following numerous emails and calls over many months, we are no further on and frankly Octopus no longer appear interested in our issue or don't know what to do next.

It seems we are being held to ransom, unable to get a true account summary since March and the deadline for our fixed package ending next week with a huge tariff rise due to the system saying we use far more than we do (This is not related to the general tariff changes but to Octopus system issues).

A request to speak to a manager came back, they are busy and would call be back at some point in the future. They couldn't give a time frame.

Customer service is truly measured not on their ability to be nice to you on the phone, but to actually resolve issues promptly and professionally when and if they occur – Octopus Energy appear unable to resolve any issue beyond being pleasant to me on the phone.

New item? Arrived in a awful state and was returned as DOA.

Ordered a new item and the item that we received was in awful condition.

The item was badly damaged and the box had large holes in it in a number of places.

EcoAir blamed the courier, but we have never seen a courier tape up their damage before delivering?

It felt like the item was not new, had previous box damage taped up, it was black from storage and really didn't look brand new.

We didn't feel like it was all caused by the courier.

That said, the company was not contactable by phone, so only email exchanges and they we not the best and very delayed.

After a week of returning and emails we got a refund but still had to buy a unit elsewhere.

I wouldn't try again with the hassle I had in this instance.

Trying to buy a part for 1 of our 4 dyson vacuums and Dyson clearly doesn't want to speak to us.

I too have better things to do than wait on the phone for your non existent support.

Edit: Support since left me a message and told me to call them back on the same number I had waited for 30 minutes previously.

They also stated they would also email me with the answer to my support request, they have not to date Jan 12 2020.

I rang support yet again yesterday and spoke to an extremely rude agent.

Perhaps Dyson can help me understand what the colloquial phrases the agent used actually mean?

Not surprisingly what was stated to be done, hasn't been.

I have passed one of the 4 serial numbers to you Dyson as you requested on DM, but frankly you were unable to find them yesterday after 40 minutes on support, even though they do exist.
