I’m extremely frustrated by CNN’s decision to put so much basic news behind a paywall. News—particularly major breaking news and information that affects the public—is fundamentally different from entertainment or premium content. People should be able to access reliable reporting without having to subscribe just to understand what is happening in the world.

I understand that journalism is expensive and that news organizations need sustainable business models. But putting increasingly large amounts of basic reporting behind a paywall comes with a serious cost: public trust and access to information.

CNN has long been one of the major news organizations people turn to during elections, crises, disasters, wars, and other major events. When essential reporting becomes something you have to pay to access, it risks creating an information gap between people who can afford multiple news subscriptions and those who cannot.

Over time, I believe this could damage CNN’s credibility and relationship with the public. A news organization should be trying to make trustworthy information more accessible, not less.

When major news sources put basic news behind paywalls, democracy suffers. An informed public is essential to a functioning democracy, and access to credible information shouldn't become a luxury product.

CNN should reconsider how aggressively it is putting ordinary news behind a paywall. There is a legitimate place for premium content and subscription services, but basic, consequential news should remain accessible to everyone.

This feels like a disappointing direction for an organization that has historically played such an important role in keeping the public informed.

CNN All Access: First the app stopped working on my Smart TV. Then I found I could access it via the Amazon Prime app, although I subscribed directly through CNN. Today, I'm getting "Oops, something went wrong. Try again later" on my smart TV and something about "tokenexchange" when I sign in on my computer. I've tried the trouble shooting ideas on CNN's help site with no success. My computer is Windows 11 and up to date. I'm sure CNN would tell me that the problem is on my end, but, I can't find it.
There should be a "Give my money back" option when cancelling an All Access subscription after a short period of time.

I am writing to request assistance with my paid CNN subscription. I recently paid approximately $41.00 for a one-year streaming service, but I am now unable to sign in to my account. When I attempt to log in, I receive an error message stating that my account has been deleted.

I have followed all troubleshooting steps provided, but the issue remains unresolved. Could you please look into this and help me regain access to my account?

I have daily habit of watching AMANPOUR but am stopping as of today as she is never on the show. This week she has missed all four episodes. They should rename the show “Golodryga” to avoid mis-selling allegations.

Of course CNN doesn’t really give a hoot that they engage in false advertising as it comes to you via your cable company. It’s arrogant as if “anything will do”. Let the viewers eat cake.

I am moving on as there is no way to know from day-to-day whether she is hosting the show or not. So far this year her showing up for her own show is less than 50% if that!

There's an article on CNN today titled "Kate, Princess of Wales, climbs Britain’s three highest peaks in 24 hours to raise money for cancer hospital". The text goes on to say explicitly that she summited the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. This is UTTER RUBBISH. There are several higher summits in Wales; Scotland has even more. The Three Peaks is a celebrated hike in northern England that takes in respectively Penyghent, Whernside and Ingleborough hills. THESE ARE NOT EVEN AMONG THE THREE HIGHEST POINTS IN ENGLAND.
Kudos to Kate for completing a challenging hike in a worthy cause.
Censure to CNN for sloppy writing and editing.
Can we to believe this outlet gets the serious stuff right when it can't even do its research on the relatively trivial? In an era when more than ever we need news reporting we can rely on.

The only truth I have ever heard on CNN is there current rating 1.4 stars personally I think that’s pushing it a bit. it should be in the negative, but whatever.

You got rid of 99% of the most trustworthy journalists and commentators and put up pay walls and the news is terrible unwatchable all of it is the entire Channel as of last month or two. The new ownership preposterous

Watched CNN from Australia. Can’t believe the underlying bias against Trump. Dreadful host. What a shame as CNN was always a go to for foreign news.
