So disappointed with them.
They keep asking for the same and the same information which I have sent to them 4 months ago and my background checking still continues
I kept getting asked for the same info over and over again. Then was asked for documents to prove employment from 20 years ago. Why does the onus of proving employment fall back on the potential employee when it seems to me the whole reason to hire you guys is to do the legwork to find out past employment? Maybe you should do your job that you're getting paid to do instead of harassing potential employees for the same information that they've already provided several times over or asking for 20-year-old documents that they probably didn't keep and are most likely not going to be able to find. Nobody - AND I MEAN NOBODY - wants to work anymore. Everybody wants to get paid but they don't want to do the actual work they're getting paid to do. They want to pawn it off on someone else to do it for them. And I'm so over it!!!

customer service didnt help with my issue and spent ages going round in circles. made it very hard to fix what should be an easy issue.

My start date was delayed multiple weeks because of delays in First Advantage sending the completed background report to my future employer.
When I tried to speak to someone the only option was the chat bot which directed me to reach out to the hiring manager who was going through the same endless loop with no resolution. Very frustrating experience and still not resolved.

The absolute worst background screening process I’ve ever had to deal with. Incredibly glitchy, slow, help representatives are brain dead. If you can avoid ever having to use this, do that. This place sucks and it’s hilarious they continue to operate with zero improvement.

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, they contacted me while I was on holiday and gave only 3 days to complete the background checks, with no way of contacting them to ask to extend it. Then once reissued when I was back the page just won’t load. It doesn’t exactly give confidence that a company that is handling really sensitive data knows what they are doing with technology!

I received an email to provide another reference. Immediately get into live chat. was then transferred from Agent to Steve. His response was & action based. All clarified & with follow up actions assured. Fast & effective resolution (and it's like 330am EST as it's 330pm SGT) Great Stuff

i realy wish i could give this a negative review. from every aspect of this company it has absolutely sucked nothing good nobody could give me a answer the get help thing online tried saying there was no number to call for help and then on top of this they would only give you a transfer to someone else. i really do feel bad for anyone who has to deal with the damn place

Horrible experience completing my screening form.
Browser wouldn't read the QR code. Then fadv wouldn't accept my Firefox browser. Going through the forms, it wouldn't accept my address, it didn't recognise London or Middlsex as a county. The navigation was terrible and I couldn't go through all the pages at will until I reached the end.
The whole thing was very slow going from page to page and there were timeouts of 5 and later 15 minutes which weren't sufficient to enter all my data (you have to go off and find and photograph different documents and sometimes clip them).
Logging back in after a timeout requires two repeated logins, you get pointless "you've logged on" popups, then you have to click through an emailed link to get back in.
I needed 8 login links to complete the process which is totally ridiculous. Who are they trying to protect, this isnt a banking system.
I would scrap the whole system, it totally over validates everything and over constrains navigation.
A much simpler all-in-one form without so much wasted white space and sluggish navigation would be far simpler and less frustrating.

Now going on 3 weeks waiting on my background check, still NOTHING. Called to see what’s the holdup but can’t get a straight answer from ANYONE. This company is trash.

If I could give no stars I would. Like first of all... Why is it that US citizens should be forced to enter an absolute absurd amount of residential information about themselves??

Seriously, 10years-worth is insane! In a society where we are already tracked continuously against our wills, with algorithms that already require Identifications such as ssn, and any other PII, you as a background agency should do your job and not waste the people's time!

Obviously, you can pull up all our necessarily needed data with the granted access and permissions through our PII that is noticeably willingly provided to you by applicants for this "background process." I don't even care if I don't get the job that I applied for because of this. This is my freedom of speech and this should be a guaranteed protection as part of my constitutional rights!

I served this nation for many reasons of contributing to my patriotic family blood-line. This horrendously absurd intrusiveness that has become more mainstream these days is definitely far from any of the reasons why I ever served this nation. Fix this issue and maybe you won't get publicly called out like this.

On the other hand... I did have a customer service agent give me guidance and appeared sincerely concerned and empathetic towards my situation, as I had experienced some technical difficulties with this process. So, thank you for that! I give you, personally 5 stars, not the First Advantage company.

New job for my husband right to work came back failed now i see that there is a scan document part which never came up onscreen now I see why from other peoples reviews run by incompetent people dont understand why employers use this service and dont see why employees have to fill it in it should be the employers responsibility utter shambles of a place

This is by far the worst company to do a background check I ever seen in my life. I’ve been waiting for a month just to get my background check back and I still haven’t gotten it back every time I talk to somebody they keep telling me a different date and a different date. Please do not waste your time.

If negative 1000 stars was an option then I would have given that.

They want me to share a stamped and signed document for a background check like bank statements p45 etc, who gets those documents in the modern age. They are still living in 90s.

I’d rate it 0 stars if I could. I’ve went through 5 “live agents” and NONE OF THEM were helpful. I kept explaining that I don’t have certain forms from jobs years ago and they kept asking for them. I kept explaining that I don’t have access to previous employer’s payroll systems (obviously) and that I only had other proof of employment. EACH time they would say they understood me and notated for the team to update my background check. The 4th time, the live agent took my proof of employment for one company and NEVER RESPONDED. I sat in the chat for 20min because he said he would update for me and NEVER DID. I had to update it! So now, I’m wondering what happened to my document?? Even though this is supposed to be a secured chat!!! The 5th time, I actually had someone helpful and they told me they would make sure I didn’t receive anymore “XXXXXXX needs further verification” emails and that my screening would be completed since I don’t have certain forms. And what do I get an hour later. ANOTHER EMAIL! While also going through this, I was in an email thread with another FA worker, who didn’t understand “This program does not have a transcript. I was only provided a Certification” and kept telling me they couldn’t verify my proof of education. DUH! IT’S NOT A SCHOOL! The instructions on the background check process are HORRIBLE! Don’t tell me to include certain information and proof of certifications if you’re only wanting ACTUAL trade schools or universities. I ended up having to just “skip” and say I don’t have the requested document. Who knew that’s what I was supposed to do. Not them, because when I asked one of the “live agents” is this what I needed to click, they told me not to and that they would “send this information over to their team”. I’m supposed to start my job next week and this whole process has made me feel so scared and stressed that I might not have the job due to their negligence. I can’t afford to be without a job. Not in this economy. And judging by the reviews, they don’t care about making our process any better.

Customer service is a chatGPT 2 clone and super unhelpful. When I was finally able to log in, it only had the tasks for my last employment screening and nothing from the new employer.

Started background check on June 26th and its Aug 6th and still have not completed background yet all I have is a misdemeanor from 9yrs ago

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. These people refuse to to speak with you live. They tell you one thing and then ask for something completely different. COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED AND BEYOND FRUSTRATING.
