I hired True North Moving on the basis of cost and time. They came to mu house in Sarnia Ontario on July 24th. Loaded up my belongings into the truck. I was told delivery to my new place in Trail BC was 7 days. Friday july 31. On the 27th i received the bill and paid it in full right away. On the 29th I called and was told there was a delay and it would arrive Saturday aug 8th. On August 4th I called and was told for the first time it was being shipped by train and the railcard wouldn't be leaving Toronto for Vancouver until it was full. They told me another 12 days. I called again on the 12th and numerous times since and couldn't get a response from anyone until last week when I was told the train has left Toronto for Vancouver and it should be delivered between aug 24th and suggested 29th. Today is August 28th and I was just told it will arrive in Vancouver on the 29th. Unloading the train car and sorting and loading onto a truck could take 2 days with Sunday being closed so I should be getting my belongings on next Tuesday or Wednesday. This puts it at September 1 or 2. A very long way off from 7 days. All I've been getting from this company during this time has mostly been bad attitude with 2 times the person apologizing. No offer of a partial refund or any kind of compensation. Only dorry there is nothing we can do. My kids have been sleeping in sleeping bags since july 26th because everything is on this train car. I've had to spend over $1000 on items to live which I shouldn't have had to buy because all these items are on this train car. If you need your property to live DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. They don't care about you only the money you pay them.

Be prepared to pay at least double the quoted price. They also added a "long carry" charge even though the truck was pulled up to within 10 meters of the front door. They also demanded full payment after they had picked up my dad's stuff, which was not disclosed ahead of time. You can try to ask questions ahead of time (I should have asked more, especially about the payment schedule), but be prepared for them to stonewall you - my wife requested a quote for a different move and Lucas just terminated the conversation when she asked for proof of insurance - super shady. I have no problems with the guys who picked up the stuff or delivered it, but the administrators were extremely unethical in the way they communicated or failed to communicate aspects of the contract. We tried to get a more accurate estimate ahead of time but were ignored by Lucas. He also ignored all attempts at contact after my dad's things were picked up, and the "accountants" just ignored any text/email evidence that I had been quoted differently than I had been charged.

I wish zero stars was an option.
Moving a 3 bedroom family of four, one disabled adult, to an adjacent province, where I needed to start a new job very shortly after moving. To sum up:

- Two days late to pick up with essentially no notice. Costing money for changed plans and hotels.
- Pushed high cost wrapping solutions to protect belongings, ended up just chucking stuff randomly in wardrobe boxes, damaging a lot.
- Once 90% of stuff was on the truck, suddenly had to pay a 'deposit' the cost of he entire original quote.
- Once everything was on the truck, suddenly needed another additional $1,000 deposit. Even the actual mover started arguing with the manager on the other line about this one.
- The scheduled move-in day comes, have heard nothing from anyone. Call, and no one has any idea where our things are. Part of the issue is that suddenly there are multiple companies involved.
- Finally here back a day later, and we are told our stuff will come "sometime next week, they will call you the day before". They also now require full payment before scheduling what was already scheduled. Great, so my kids and disabled spouse should sleep on the floor? Or we should pay thousands more for accommodations?
- Get a move-in date scheduled a couple days later, no apologies, nothing. Call comes in later that same day, " we're here. Where are you?". Drop everything to meet them, just want to be done with these clowns at this point.
- Movers are completely uninterested in moving. Assured room to room, ended up being 90% of belongings chucked in the garage, no furniture moved up or downstairs.

Not even sure my review is needed given all the other bad reviews, and the obvious fake five star reviews, but if this convinces even one person to avoid these scammers, that's great. Great. Stay far away.

I have never written anyone review but they have let us down on the day of planned moving which has deposit done upfront plus schedule was done including Air Tickets

They are seriously not Trust Worthy

They will take Advance , Schedule a move and then they will deny Scale Tickets plus a service on SPOT .

Two movers from True North showed up a day early, without warning, both glassy eyed, saying it was the only time they could move my furniture. I might add, they showed up in the middle of a work day. They then cancelled the contract. I asked them to be professional and respect the contract and they said they could not do work with someone who called them unprofessional. Do not work with this company. Lucas at True North is not a legitimate mover.

Their 1 star rating is accurate and reflective of not just poor service, but detrimental.

I contacted True north moving & storage for a quick quote. I received a text & email from them very quickly whlhich was wonderful.
My son has made his decision on how he is proceeding with his upcoming move, so I replied (stop) to text like all other companies requested i do if not needing there help.
I instantly got a message from Lucas asking if I have mental issues! He was extremely rude in these messages that I have on my phone that I can send if someone from your company wants proof. What kind of customer service is this ? I am very disheartened and disgusted with his actions towards a customer. Hope all employees are not this nasty!

This company broke our $600 dresser and refused to pay for it. Please do not use if you have anything you value. The movers themselves were very nice and apologetic and assured us that the company would reimburse us for the value. However, when we tried to get in touch with admin for an insurance claim they gave us the runaround or ignored us for weeks before telling us that we were not eligible for an insurance payout because the deductible is $350 and they only insure items up to 60cents per pound. This was not communicated up front and all the communication felt very scammy. Please, find a more reliable and stand up company! We will not be using them again!

I had booked these guys for an in-city move in London, ON and paid a $200 deposit. The morning of the move, the move time came and went with no movers. So I called and was advised they would be delayed 3 hrs and the driver should've called me. Well, he didn't. Ok, fine. Then I get a call - oops our bad, we're delayed until 2pm!

WTF!? No way. What kind of organization is this? Delayed for five hours the morning of the move and zero notification for it?

Long story short, miraculously I found a local reputable mover who agreed to do my move within the hour. I told True North to cancel the move as I didn't trust them to arrive at any time.

Also, Lucas, who booked my move, ghosted me all morning. He ignored every text and call. Still never heard back from him. And yes, I gave up the deposit. Money well spent to NOT have to deal with them.

The funny part of all of this is that I didn't even mean to book them. I thought I was booking True North Movers in London, with great Google reviews. It was my mistake for mixing them up but their business comes up before the other even though "Movers" is in the search.

This company has caused our family a lot of unnecessary stress, definitely don’t recommend for a long distance move.
Currently has our stuff but won’t pickup calls or return emails.

Company didn’t communicate that the full amount had to be paid by e-transfer or money order, not the card we provided for the first payment, before they leave the warehouse.
Has been paid for two days and they still haven’t let us know where our stuff is👎 been sleeping on the floor for f*cks sake cause they were supposed to be here with our things days ago.

**update** after being ghosted by the company for awhile we were finally able to get ahold of someone.
...still no sign of our things. Lucas has said now that instead of April 22 ( which is when we were told we’d have our things. if you book a truck I’d say it’s reasonable to expect the things to arrive on the date you booked them for.)at the least be communicated with before you arrive not two days later.
So they’re coming on the 14th of may now apparently. Dangling the carrot on the proverbial stick. Will our things arrive? We don’t know because the trust is gone this company will take your money and all your possessions leave you with the clothes on your back then not give you any decency of some basic communication.
Im sure it’s a scam at this point im just thankful i didn’t have any kids to have to live the way we’ve had to for a MONTH because of this so called company and their irresponsibility. This company apparently only has one long haul truck so if you move long distance you’ll have your shit in with someone else’s or shoved in storage without any consent from you because they don’t bother telling you anything until you’re out there and they have your money. That is if you’re lucky enough to get a response.

MAIN POINT :
If you have a family go with another company for a long distance move. You don’t want to have to deal with what we have had to especially if you have kids

Second update: Today is may 14. They say our stuff is supposed to be packed today then be here on the 21st. A month late.

It was a great decision to work with them. The staff was friendly and efficient and took care of my furniture as if it were their own. This is the perfect moving and storage service for anyone who needs reliable help.

I wouldn’t think I could afford to bring my stuff from Florida to Milton Ontario
I was going to sell all my furniture but True North gave me a very reasonable offer
Obviously I had be flexible on the date and make sure it also work with their schedule
They were on time , helped me with customs clearance it was fast and they delivered it in 4 days
Driver was absolutely great he knew what he was doing
I’m very happy with their service

Very rude behavior very bad service l, I paid more than month ago and still didn't deliver my shipment they are really rude and unprofessional to customers, every time I call them they said one week dint give us exact date and after that they stop receiving calls they have my shipment and I am.waiting still don't know when it will be delivered.
At least we have right to know where is our stuff we paid amount they ask for.even more than quotation amount.
Don't recommend dont risk ur things in their hands.
Unprofessional first seems nice then they keep ur stuff and dont respond even.

Unsatisfied services , poor communication after payment , threatening of discard if didnt pay.
i am very unpleased I got quotation from Mr lucas and first they send me.wrong quotation for BC later they gave me quote and after pickup they send triple.the amount of quote that was first given they charge me almost 1000 dollars for packing only , delivery should be in in 7 to 10 days but its being more than month I didn't get my shipment and now they stop responding didn't even answer my calls I still dont know where are my things.
Don't recommend it. I am mentally upset at least customer who want ur service and pay u according to ur requirements need explaination and response.

It was hard to select a mover , some companies were too inexpensive and with terrible reviews some were very very expensive
I contacted True North in mississauga and I felt comfortable with their pricing and services , I hired them to move from Sudbury to Kitchener
They were very upfront with their services and prices and explained what I needed to get ready , move day they arrived on time and literally wrapped and loaded in 2 hours and next morning they were at my address in Kitchener . It was a seamless process . Thank you

Their price was very reasonable, mark and Luke were amazing . They took only 1 break in 6 hours job
I treated them well with lunch etc . They know how to handle each fragile item , I’m glad I didn’t rent a truck and do it myself

I hired True North to move me within Milton
They were fast and efficient
It took them 10 hours even though they estimated 8 hours initially so it cost a little more than the estimate but they were great very careful and they assembled everything , assembly was the reason it took a little longer
Guys were very friendly

We moved from Montreal to Guelph and had a pleasant experience with this company
Reasonable rates and good service
I recommend them
