I don't want to give even 1 star but there are no zero provisions. After decades of being an excellent bank, TD proved me wrong by lowering my LOC without any prior notice. This creates significant p... See more

I applied for HELOC loan application…
I applied for HELOC loan application over a month ago with TD Bank and their all the staff members gave me run around for almost a month. And they asked me irrelevant documentation which has nothing to do with my loan. I strongly believe they discriminated me because of my ethnicity. After all this frustration I applied for my HELOC loan application on July 13 with Citizens Bank and they are about to sign my closing documentation tomorrow. Which is huge difference between these two Banks. Citizens Bank is so easy to deal with and quick that I was really shocked and surprised. It is just amazing experience.
TD Bank is the worst bank
TD Bank is the worst bank
TD Bank is the worst bank. Make sure to choose any other bank, literally any other bank, even wells fargo is a better choice, and they were caught committing fraud.
TD bank charged me fees that did not apply to my accounts since day one, and I had to call repeatedly to ask to have them corrected.
They also charged me a credit line fee for a credit line I never used, and refused to give me the fee amount back. The manager gaslit me saying that he had explained this would happen, but I took notes on all of our meetings, specially about any fees that could come up, and I had noted that he said "As long as you don't use the CL, you will not be charged a fee", but he denied it. No shame.
Upon closing my CC account with them, they refused to redeem my points, because unlike all other reasonable banks that will redeem your points no matter what, they decided they will enforce a minimum of points that you myst have to be redeemable. While the total of remaining points only amounted to $22.11 that they would have to pay me. Can you imagine what would happen if I owe them $22.11 that I refused to pay them? They would triple that amount with interests each week for the rest of my life.
They are quick to lend to small businesses because they hope businesses will fail and they can take their collateral.

Had an account for 26 years when they sent me a letter saying they conducted a “review” and decided to drop me with no reason given. Not only that, I was told to go to the branch, and the branch said I need to call the number on the letter. So I call them and they say they need to “contact the branch manager” before ghosting me. Called back 2 days later and they send me to another line which tells me quite smugly that they don’t have to give a reason and you’re pretty much on your own. Would put 0 stars if I could.

Not so convenient after all
I thought TD Bank was supposed to be more convient but it's not. I never received my new card called the bank closed my old bank so I said I'll go to the bank so they can print me out a new one. They no longer issue you a debt card, you have to wait 7 to 10 business days for a new one. I had to leave work early to solve nothing. I have no card to get cash out, I would have to leave work early because they close by 5 and get off early. The teller didn't even tell me I withdrew too much money which left me in the negative. She said we can expedite you a card but you will charge you $33. I just can't believe that
My experience with TD Bank’s handling…
My experience with TD Bank’s handling of a short sale and loan modification has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. For over seven months, the bank has failed to provide clear communication, consistent updates, or transparency regarding the status of the account.
Throughout the process, we received conflicting information, experienced long periods with no response, and were repeatedly left waiting without any clear direction. Because of TD Bank’s delays and lack of communication, the seller lost two qualified buyers who were unwilling to continue waiting for the bank to respond.
Meanwhile, the seller’s credit continues to be negatively affected each month, while the outstanding debt grows due to accumulating interest. A short sale is already a stressful and financially difficult process, and TD Bank’s mishandling has made the situation significantly worse.
Clients deserve honest communication, timely decisions, and accurate information—especially when their credit, finances, and ability to sell their home are at risk. Based on this experience, I would not recommend TD Bank for anyone dealing with a loan modification or short sale.

Title: Disappointed with TD Cash Credit Card dispute handling during a family emergency
I am extremely disappointed with how TD Bank handled my dispute involving an Airbnb rental charge of **$1,898**.
My family and I had planned a trip beginning June 30, 2026. Unfortunately, my father became very ill, and the hospice nurse advised us not to go because he was expected to pass within days. My father passed away on June 2, 2026. This was an incredibly painful and unexpected situation for my entire family.
I contacted the rental company that hosted the Airbnb reservation on **May 28, 2026**, to cancel the trip. I did not purchase Airbnb’s travel insurance because I believed my TD Cash Credit Card would provide some protection or support in the event of a serious emergency like this.
I filed my dispute with TD on **May 19, 2026**, but I have been very disappointed by the lack of understanding and assistance regarding this situation. This was not a casual cancellation or a change of plans—it involved the death of my father and a hospice nurse’s advice that we stay home with him.
I expected more compassion, clarity, and support from TD Bank during such a difficult time. I hope TD will review my case fairly and reconsider the dispute for the **$1,898** charge.

TD bank in the U.S
TD bank in the U.S. has to be the worst. I've had an account for over 10yrs yet whenever I go to a mac machine they refuse to give me MY money until I receive and answer a text from TD. If you dont have your phone then you're SOL. TD Bank is not convenient!
TD "Thieves' Delight" Bank — 1 star
I was defrauded of $11,616 in six unauthorized eBay charges shipped to my address under a stranger's name — "Chad Smith." I did the impossible: identified the compromised eBay account, closed 23 years of account history, gave the physical MacBook to Pennsylvania State Police as evidence, filed with the FTC, submitted Ring footage of the porch-pirate pickup crew, and now have a Trooper offering to call TD directly to verify the fraud.
TD's response? Two months in, they reversed the provisional credit on the strongest-evidenced $2,913.94 charge — the one with a police-held device and a matching invoice in someone else's name — and offered no written explanation of what evidence they relied on to do it, as Regulation E requires.
Then their dispute fax line dropped mid-transmission of my documentation. Then their $1,200 spending alert (that I had set up and a rep confirmed) failed to trigger on any of six fraudulent charges, including a single $4,451 one.
I've faxed. I've called. I've written. I've been polite. I've cited regulations. TD's position is that provisional credits are "temporary and subject to final review." Apparently police custody of the stolen goods is not persuasive.
If TD Bank will side with the fraudsters against a documented victim on this record, imagine how they'll handle your fraud claim. Move your money. I am.
DO NOT hire TD'S financial Planner!!!
TD’s service quality has declined significantly over time. In my recent experience, when I requested a transfer of my funds to a self-directed investment account, the process was unnecessarily delayed and complicated. It took almost three months for the transfer to finally be completed.
During this period, I had to communicate with multiple TD departments and make numerous phone calls to try to resolve the issue. I eventually learned that TD Wealth financial planners have the option either to use the phone number already registered in a client’s TD profile or to manually enter a different phone number when sending the e-document link for review and signature.
I have never had any issues receiving verification codes from TD for other services. However, in this particular transfer request, my financial planner chose to manually enter a phone number that was not accessible to me, which prevented me from receiving the passcode needed to access, review, and sign the required documents.
The only way I could communicate with the planner was through email, as no direct phone extension was provided. After numerous email exchanges, I discovered that an incorrect phone number had been entered. Even after I pointed out and corrected the issue, it still took another two weeks before the transfer was completed.
As a result of these delays, I continued to be charged a high management expense ratio (MER) of approximately 2.8%, which significantly impacted the value of my RRSP investment. This experience has been extremely disappointing, as the delay appeared to benefit the managed account provider while negatively affecting my investment returns.
I hope TD reviews this process and improves communication, transparency, and accountability so that clients can transfer their own funds in a timely and straightforward manner.

Or how about the time people from the main phone number listed above were calling and scamming and stealing money from our accounts claiming to be fraud protection ... Inside job? Absolutely!! I don't know how they're still in business. The worse bank in the world

The worst bank in the world
The worst bank in the world. DO NOT BANK with them.
I'd give it negative rating if I could
Rating: NEGATIVE INFINITY. I would rather set my money on fire and use the ashes as confetti than trust a single cent to this bank.
TD Bank is not a bank you can trust — it is a convicted felon in a cheap green suit, a data-leaking parasite, and a bureaucratic torture chamber disguised as a financial institution. Let me eviscerate your two offenses with the factual venom they deserve.
REASON 1 - YOU ARE A DATA-LEAKING PARASITE THAT VIOLATES BASIC TRUST
TD's approach to personal information handling is deeply troubling. After sharing information through TD's systems, your vulture-like credit card department was shoving promotional garbage into my mailbox. The timing makes it awfully too hard to believe it was a coincidence. Whether due to internal data practices or inadequate controls, the result was the same: my trust in TD's ability to protect sensitive information was seriously damaged.
And here's the staggering, infuriating irony: you can't even keep tabs on your own transaction pipeline, yet you have the audacity to treat me like a criminal when I try to update my own account. Let's talk about your actual track record on security and compliance — it isn't just bad, it's historically damning.
In October 2024, TD Bank pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering — the first national bank in U.S. history to do so. The Justice Department imposed the largest penalty ever levied under the Bank Secrecy Act: roughly $1.9 billion in criminal fines and forfeiture, part of a combined resolution exceeding $3 billion once the Federal Reserve, OCC, and FinCEN piled on — plus an asset cap restricting TD's growth. Why? Because for nearly a decade, TD "willfully" failed to maintain an adequate anti-money laundering program, and left 92% of its transaction volume — about $18.3 trillion — effectively unmonitored between 2018 and 2024.
TD became, in its own employees' words, an "easy target" for the "bad guys." Three separate money laundering networks pushed more than $670 million through TD accounts, one of them with the help of five of TD's own employees. One operator alone moved over $470 million in illicit cash while bribing tellers with gift cards to look the other way. As Attorney General Merrick Garland put it: "By making its services convenient for criminals, TD Bank became one."
So spare me your sanctimonious "security theater" when I try to change a number on my profile. You couldn't monitor trillions in transactions, you let a criminal network dump piles of cash on your own counters, your own employees took bribes to keep quiet — and yet you force me, a verified, authenticated account holder, to physically drag myself to a branch just to change a single digit?
REASON 2 - YOUR "CONVENIENCE" SLOGAN IS A GASLIGHTING JOKE, AND YOUR "SECURITY" EXCUSE IS A FRAUD
"America's Most Convenient Bank"? Let me correct that: "America's Most Contemptuous, Time-Wasting Enterprise."
You forced me — a customer who passed your verification gauntlet with SSN, date of birth, and security questions — to waste hours traveling to a physical branch just to change a phone number. Every other reputable financial institution lets me do this online in five minutes. But not you. You hide behind the paper-thin shield of "security."
And here's the devastating truth: that security posture rings hollow. If you were actually serious about security, you'd have caught the $18.3 trillion in transactions that flowed through unchecked. If you were serious about security, five of your own employees wouldn't have been in on the laundering. Your so-called "security measures" aren't protection — they're bureaucratic sadism aimed at honest customers, while criminals got the red carpet for years.
IN CONCLUSION
TD Bank pleaded guilty to a genuine money-laundering conspiracy, prioritized profit over compliance, allowed criminals to use its branches as cash-dumping grounds, and now has the gall to treat law-abiding customers like suspects. Meanwhile, sharing my information through their systems led to unwanted marketing outreach almost immediately.
You are hypocritical, unreliable, and dishonest about what "security" actually means here. TD Bank has no business lecturing anyone about trust.
