AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Wish I'd read these review before buying my carpets from Kingsmead.
We had carpets fitted in July 26,the carpet backing was so stiff that they wouldn't stretch properly, leaving ripples on every carpet in every room, then, not long after, we had fluffy patches appear in places. In December the carpet shop we bought from supplied and refit the whole house again at their expense only for the same problem to occur again. Kingsmead sent an assessor to check the carpet and he's blamed everyone else for the problem. The carpet was kept in a cold room before fitting, we haven't used
a strong enough vacuum, we haven't vacuumed enough and best of all, our floorboards are uneven...even though they are as flat as a pancake...
Avoid this company at all costs!!!!

Poor carpet quality and customer care

My wife and I purchased a wool carpet 5 years ago from Lambourne carpets. However, the carpet started to wear 2 years ago during the lockdown. This is a carpet that should last 5-10 years. Due to family bereavements during the lockdown, we were not able to report it at the time which I explained to Lambourne.

I decided to find another company to purchase another wool carpet a few months ago. The new carpet company fitter mentioned that the wool carpet should not have deteriorated so badly in 5 years. He could have easily taken our money and installed a new staircase carpet. The fitter recommended we report the deterioration to Lambourne carpets because the fitter was concerned about the quality of the carpet and the underlay fitting.

Both Kingsmead Carpets and Lambourne Carpets were initially not interested in visiting to inspect the carpet following pictures sent. After insisting, Lambourne finally visited and asked me to pay £135+VAT for the manufacturer to inspect the carpet (policy). However, the manufacturer has already decided to not accept responsibility in a letter forward to me from Lambourne, so it would a waste of money to pay the £135 +VAT.

I have spent two months on emails and visits to Lambourne Carpets to explain the situation to no avail. Lambourne believes it is due to heavy traffic with three adults and one child living in the family home (not an HMO).
We also not offered the wool guarantee as per the WOW standards (WOWWarranty.com) on purchase of the carpet.

AWFUL CARPET AND COMPANY

DON'T BUY FROM THESE COWBOYS
I purchased from MORGAN AND QUINN 5 large pieces of Kingsmead Pennine Twist 50oz.
The delivery was one person attempting to man handle massive weights of carpet by himself.
This is where the customer is then expected to step in and help.
Once fitted two of the five pieces suffered from reverse pile. so they looked grubby in certain areas.
I complained to M AND Q who got Kingsmead to send two replacements.
Once again on delivery i had to assist.
on opening the larger replacement carpet it had more lines in it than clapham junction. So again this piece had to be replaced.
When the new carpet arrived i had it fit but as before i have tramlines down the centre of it.
Please note Morgan And Quinn have carried out their end of the deal.
KINGSMEAD CARPETS ARE NOT CHECKED BEFORE THEY LEAVE THEIR FACTORY.

Further on from my previous experience, i now have had the carpet changed but it's a different colour to the rest

In total a complete nightmare from beginning to end.
I'll never buy Kingsmead Carpets again.
