Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 52 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggled with canceled online orders, sudden payment security rejections, and unhelpful customer service representatives who failed to resolve issues. Many buyers shared receiving defective merchandise, missing items, or experiencing major hurdles when attempting to process product returns and refunds. The minority of people were satisfied with the fast shipping and lower prices compared to other online retail competitors. These happy shoppers mentioned receiving pre-built computers in mint condition, enjoying plug-and-play setups, and encountering helpful in-store staff during their visits. Some customers also appreciated finding great deals on specific gaming equipment and components.

Fraudulent Company

On July 24th I ordered an expensive Moza base. Was set to be delivered on July 27th. I never received it. I reached out to customer service who initially was super responsive. They started an investigation and assured me it would be resolved. The delivery company came to my house multiple times and confirmed they didn’t deliver the package to me and said they had delivered it by mistake to someone else. I received in writing from Canada Computers customer service Agent Clarisse that there was an error and delivery driver made a mistake. I was asked to be patient while they sort this out. She stopped responding to me. I’ve called numerous times to Customer Service with no resolution still. I get promised a manager will call be back in 24-48 hours and it’s been over a month and no call back. I received an email on Aug 18 asking me for a police report. I fulfilled wish and sent police report and now it’s just dead silence. It has been over a month, I haven’t received the product nor did I receive a refund either and not one single person will respond to my emails or answer my phone calls. Disgusting company. I will never be ordering again.

Their website is the worst I have used…

Their website is the worst I have used for online shopping. For a tec store one might think the website would function properly. It does not, use 1 filter seems fine try and refine your search with an other filter you get filters gone... nothing filtered. Then if you want to purchase from a specific store (for pick up) the website and some CSRs at the store lead you to think you can pay online then get someone to pick your prepaid items up. This is not the case whoever you want to pick up Items must pay for your items. I found it impossible to find a monitor in stock that I wanted. The description of items are lacking.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service! 15 day price adjustment shouldn't even exist on their website. Bought a laptop only for it to go on sale 2 days later $500 cheaper. Instead of just reimburse me the money. They make me return the laptop and buy it again at the sale price only for them to send it back to me. Ridiculous! Waist of my time and probably the stores time. Come on canada computers do better.

A Few Words About My Poor Experience with Canada Computers

I recently attempted to purchase a computer component online from Canada Computers. After successfully placing and paying for my order, I received a notification the following day stating that my payment had been rejected because their system had flagged my credit card, allegedly due to either incorrect information or the use of a foreign-issued card.
After reviewing the transaction, I confirmed that neither explanation applied. My credit card information was accurate, and the card was a valid Canadian-issued card in good standing.
I then attempted to complete the purchase using a different credit card, only to receive exactly the same result. Both cards have been verified by the issuing banks, and there are no issues with either of them.
When I contacted Customer Service, they were unable to explain why the payments were repeatedly declined or provide any meaningful assistance. As a result, I had no choice but to cancel my purchase and shop elsewhere.
After experiencing two unexplained payment rejections, I was left with serious concerns about how Canada Computers processes online transactions. Without any clear explanation from the company, I can only speculate about the reasons for these repeated declines. Whatever the cause, the lack of transparency and the inability of Customer Service to resolve the issue made for a very disappointing experience.
In my opinion, this approach to online payment processing is unacceptable. I hope Canada Computers investigates these issues and improves both its payment verification system and customer support. Until then, potential customers may wish to keep experiences like mine in mind when deciding where to shop online.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY

Do not buy anything from this company. They lie. Do not stand behind their products. Give you the run around if when the product is under their own warranty. Peter, their repair person is kind and supportive. He tries to help but knows the products sold are defective.
STAY AWAY FROM CANADA COMPUTERS. The manager and the staff are thieves wanting your money for the selling of bad products.

I order stuff online, it's cheaper than Amazon, Newegg and others. It's shipped to my house in nice packaging, I unbox, install and profit. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about...

They're just an awful company for any consumer. It's difficult to have a good experience here. The staff are unfriendly, probably because they're forced to follow shitty policy and receive the brunt of irritated customers. I don't think I'll be going here again. Find a local computer parts store and support them instead.

Canada Computer Downtown Montreal is the worse place to buy form

I wish Trustpilot allowed giving zero stars. Canada Computers Sainte-Catherine in Montreal does not deserve even one star.
I am looking to buy a system to store around 120 TB of photos and videos. I did a lot of research and narrowed my choice to two different systems: NAS (Synology) and OWC, to see which best suits my needs and is easy to work with. I needed two pieces of information to make my decision and then order the item. I also chose the model in each system.
I could chat online and order directly from Synology or OWS, but I wanted to help our local store in Montreal by buying from them.
I checked where I can find these two systems in Montreal. I found that Canada Computers sells both systems, and on their website, they have many models with drive capacities up to 160 TB. I was happy that I would find what I needed, and I was willing to pay up to 10 000 $
I arrived at Canada Computers on Sainte Catherine Street to shop and asked one employee for help; he referred me to another employee, who seemed to know these products. The shop was empty of customers. I told the guy that I have a lot of high-resolution photos and 8K videos to store and process, and I am looking at 160 TB of storage capacity. He answered rudely, "So what?" I replied that I'm looking at two different systems: the Synology NAS and the OWC. When I mentioned OWC, he replied rudely, "What is this?" It is like I don't know what I am talking about. I told him that OWC are on their Web. He replied again, very impassionately and arrogantly, that he works in the shop, not on the web, and that he has no idea about the product I am asking about.
I replied that maybe I need someone to talk to who knows the product. He replied that he is the expert and has never heard of OWC. I asked whether I could connect the NAS directly to my computer to transfer my data, or if I could only connect it to a router, which I might do if I am working outside the house while travelling. He told me (and he pretended to be an expert) that I could only access the NAS from home, not from another location. And he really was acting like a jerk with every reply. And he added that to connect to my computer, I need a cable (as if I am this stupid that I don't know if I am connecting my computer to anything, I don't know that I need a cable). Then he said that I need a switch. I asked what a switch is. He looked at me like I dared to ask what a switch is, and he acted like I was stupid. I left the shop, and I will never go back again.
I hope he works on commission; if so, he may have lost a big transaction.
I will buy from other retailers in different provinces; if I don't find one, I will buy directly from OWC, as that's what I am going for.

Dartmouth NS Rocks!!

Went to the Dartmouth, Nova Scotia location in Feb 2026.

1st time and will be a next time.

Bought a pre-built gaming machine, and so happy with the set-up of the store, the staff were super helpful and no issues at all. It was a 100% happy experience.

I've shopped at the locations in Ottawa, and equally happy.

Shocked on the hate tank ride in this page - I'd buy from them online or in the store. Spent over $2k and very happy.

Bad expirience with store

I’ve had multiple experiences with Canada Computers, and unfortunately, they have been consistently disappointing.

Recent order: a monitor arrived in a severely damaged box (large hole on the side and a tear across the middle). The manual inside was also torn. While the monitor itself works, the original packaging — which is important for safe transport — was no longer usable.

Customer service only offered a shipping refund, despite the condition of the delivery.

Beyond this order, I’ve experienced:

* Inconsistent and unhelpful in-store support
* Being pressured into services I explicitly declined
* A checkout system issue where financing options were unavailable due to a location error (Canada being misidentified)
* A situation where I was charged twice for the same order and had to resolve it with both the store and my bank

Overall, this does not reflect the level of service expected, especially considering the amount spent (over $3000 across purchases).

There is clear room for improvement in both logistics and customer service.

P.S. placing 2 stars for good price and working equipment though it has to be in any store

Extremely frustrated with the service

Extremely frustrated with the service at this location. I received a notification that my online order was ready for pickup. When I arrived, the employee located my package, verified my ID, and confirmed my SMS notification. However, because their internal system was offline, they refused to release the item I had already paid for.
Instead of offering a manual workaround or a way to document the pickup for later system entry, I was told I simply had to wait indefinitely. It is unacceptable to hold a customer's paid-for property hostage due to an internal technical glitch after identity has been verified. I wasted time and gas coming here for nothing. I will be reconsidering future purchases from this chain.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with…

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Canada Computers

Be very careful when purchasing from Canada Computers online.

I attempted to purchase a graphics card from their website and the money was immediately taken from my account. However, their own website shows that the order was not completed.

So they managed to take the payment, but the purchase itself did not go through. Now the money is simply being held for several days before they issue a refund.

To make things worse, their support team does not respond to tickets, leaving customers with no explanation and no assistance.

This is extremely frustrating and a terrible customer experience. No customer should have their funds taken when the system itself says the order failed.

At the moment it feels like customers are forced to wait while their money is held for days with no communication.

I strongly recommend thinking twice before ordering online from this store.

This is by far the worst company I have…

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I strongly advise everyone to stay away and never buy anything from them.

I ordered a monitor as a birthday gift because it was advertised with an $800 discount. The order went through successfully, the payment was fully processed, and I even had to complete an additional authentication step with my financial institution. After all that, the order was confirmed and my money was taken.

Three days later, I suddenly received an email claiming there was a “payment error” and that I needed to cancel the order and place it again. After following their instructions and cancelling, I tried to reorder the exact same monitor only to discover that the $800 discount had disappeared and the price was now back to full price.

So now they have cancelled my order, removed the discount, and are still holding my money. It has been four days and they have not shipped anything, refunded my money, or offered any solution. They refuse to honor the price that was already confirmed and paid for, and they refuse to offer any credit or adjustment so I can reorder at the sale price.

Customer service has been completely useless. I have repeatedly asked to speak to a manager and they refuse to transfer me. I even told them I would report this to the Better Business Bureau, and they simply did not care.

Taking a customer’s money, cancelling the order, removing the discount, and then refusing to fix the situation is completely unacceptable. This company clearly does not respect its customers or its own promotions.

If you value your money and your time, do not buy from this company

This company deserves a negative rating

If it were possible to give a rating lower than one star, I would.

I was a loyal customer of this store for decades. I made a point of supporting them specifically because they are a Canadian retailer, and I believed in supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, over the past few years the experience has deteriorated significantly.

Inventory has become extremely limited, pricing is no longer competitive, and customer service has declined sharply.

During my most recent visit, I waited nearly 30 minutes at the counter simply to speak with a sales associate. While I stood waiting, three staff members were engaged in a casual conversation about game companies rather than assisting customers. Eventually, one of the busiest employees—who was already helping another customer—took the time to assist me.

I purchased a motherboard, but when I returned home and installed it, the system would not display video. I performed extensive troubleshooting and diagnostics but was unable to resolve the issue.

When I returned to the store the following weekend, the staff refused to accept the return, claiming that I had somehow damaged the board. This accusation is particularly frustrating given that I am an IT technician with over 30 years of experience building and repairing PCs. The board was handled carefully and was not damaged by me in any way.

What was most disappointing was not just the refusal to help, but the attitude of the staff and manager. They were dismissive and rude, and at no point did they attempt to help diagnose the problem or consider a reasonable exchange.

After decades of loyalty, this experience has permanently ended my relationship with this retailer. I would strongly encourage others to consider independent stores—or even online alternatives—before choosing to shop here.

Supporting Canadian businesses matters, but customer service and accountability matter even more.

Excellent service and quality product received.

I do not understand why this company is being so viciously attacked on here with bad reviews. I'm sorry to hear some people have had such bad experiences (related to customer service it seems), but on my end, I placed my order, got my PC before the expected date and everything was in mint condition. I was a bit worried at first, reading the bad reviews only after I placed my order but I'm more than happy to report that everything was good and I'll happily order from them again!
