Have been with them for years and in the last couple if years they try to not pay out larger amounts of cashback earned so they cheat customers out of their money. Extremely dissapointed in this Canadian website because the US SITE this dosent happen! People… use the US site

I ordered an egiftcard on the Rakuten Gift Card store for a birthday present. It said it would take 24-48 hours to be sent. After 4 days I still have not received it. When I contacted them they said I had to do an identification verification step involving sending my driver's license to their 3rd party partner. This step was not mentioned when I purchased the gift card. Not sure why their process is significantly more complicated that other websites. The headache was not worth the couple % cashback that I'm supposed to receive.

Using Rakuten is so easy to use and reliable in sending the money to you that you've earned.

Missed cashback on a purchase. The Rakuten team went above and beyond to help claim the cashback from vendor.

I've been waiting for over 2 months to receive a payment that was supposed to be issued in mid August. Customer service has been absolutely useless and only replies to my emails saying that they're "looking into the issue" but after months of emails have nothing else to say, no details on why my payment is missing, no estimate for when a resolution is expected.

There's no phone number available to call and talk to an actual person either, so be warned that Rakuten might just not send you your cash back that you earned and then you'll be stuck dealing with essentially nonexistent customer service.

Great to have rewards for things you need to buy anyway!

The chat agent was very helpful in sorting out my cashback.

Users beware...part of your cash back may be missing from your order when the cashback amount and percentage is high. Doesn't always pay the advertised amount

Within 3 months, I had two different orders in which they only partially paid the cashback because "this order was not automatically reported, we submitted a request for payment to XXX". This is absurd as parts of the order was paid out and the other parts wasn't. Both times I seek help from customer service and advised they are unable to provide the cashback and closing the inquiry. They quote common reasons that would not apply in my situation as part of my order was paid. Combined cashback would of totaled close to $50.00 for both the orders

Interestingly, it is always the largest portion of the order with the vendor that is missing the cashback.

As a loyal Rakuten user for over a year, I referred my family members, who met all the requirements for referral bonuses and cashback rewards. However, Rakuten denied their rewards and deactivated their accounts simply because I used my bank card to pay for their purchases.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that I regularly use my husband's card for purchases through my own Rakuten account without any issues. Despite raising this inconsistency, your customer service team has failed to provide a clear or reasonable explanation.

This unfair and inconsistent treatment is extremely disappointing. Rakuten profits from consumers like us, yet fails to provide fair solutions when problems arise. I will no longer use your platform. I expect a clear explanation of this decision and why different standards are being applied to similar situations.

Very easy to use Rakuten to get discounts from various partners.

Easy to use- Actually I had sent one referral and my friend had forgotten and the referral timed out- Rakuten sent another link and friend used it and we both got $30. Easy money.

They never sent my interac transfer. Kept redirecting me to non existent page links on Rakuten. Seems like a fraud.

Used the referral three times, (waiting on the payout from the third) but the second time neither I nor the person I referred received the credit. The person had to reach out for the credit but I never got it.

Great service! Little issue for making purchase in a navigator, it is easier within the application

I’m disappointed with the Rakuten referral program because the promised cash-back has still not been deposited into my account.
I have contacted Customer Service twice but I’ve not received a satisfactory answer from them yet.
