BUYERS BEWARE – Unexpected Fees!

I purchased a K2 snowboard from Shop Nomads, and while the product itself arrived brand-new and in excellent condition, the overall purchasing experience was very disappointing.

My first order was canceled and refunded without any explanation. After contacting customer service, I was told that my invoice was unpaid, even though I had placed the order through Shop Pay and subsequently received a refund.

After several emails, I placed a second order directly through their website. The snowboard was advertised for $215.99, with an additional $64.37 for shipping to Texas. I specifically communicated with customer service about shipping costs before ordering because I wanted to avoid surprises.

The snowboard arrived in great condition. However, I subsequently received an additional $40.52 invoice from FedEx for customs duties, brokerage, and processing fees.

That brought my total purchase to $320.88 for a snowboard advertised at $215.99. Nearly 49% above the advertised price!

I understand international orders may involve customs fees, but I would have appreciated greater transparency regarding these additional costs, especially after communicating directly with their customer service team before purchasing.

The product was great. The customer service was polite. But the overall purchasing experience and unexpected charges were frustrating.

If you’re ordering from the United States, be sure you understand the TOTAL delivered cost, including potential customs and brokerage fees, before purchasing. What initially looks like a great deal may not be quite the deal you expected.

Fast shipping and great product, very happy with purchase

It was probably my misunderstanding but used the shop app had no idea company was in Canada. Thought i got an amazing deal at first. Then after delivery received a invoice from fed ex for approx 40$ import duty fee.
dope shoes but was a long wait and paid more then buying from a local shop. Glad I realized it before I ordered the NB 306 Foy I was about to order from nomad

Was missing a few minor parts just glad I had them already but did not come the way it was supposed to and only had one wheel on the scooter
