Well, I had an account with them. A secured account 4.7 plus years.. Never missed my payments. Card completely paid off even an overpayment. On my balance, would they give me an unsecured card? Absolu... See more

Not as good as I thought to be for foreign exchange
I have been using the Home Trust Visa for travelling purposes and so far the exchange rate was comparable to the market exchange on the transaction date. I usually check the market exchange us to can before I charge it. But recently, I found out they are not using the market currency exchange, and that's why I found the rate is higher. After I spoke twice with their customer agents who was not knowledgeable and professional, also not helpful, they actually use visa.com exchange rate which is little higher than the current market exchange rate. Yes, they don't charge exchange fee which is still lower than regular credit cards or banks. As long you call them before you travel, then you won't have a problem using at other countries. This card is good to use as long you don't have a problem, else their agent won't able to help you much as they are not well trained. Now, I do check the rate at visa.com before I use it.
If it was mine choice I would not give…
If it was mine choice I would not give them a star at all very poor service they take your house instead of talking, they take your things and don't replace them still fighting to get my things back that they took. They don't listen very poor service and staff I would tell people about them I would not send them business they are terrible to deal with never again.
Friendly and quick customer service
Less than a week before leaving the country I realized my Visa had expired and the replacement had been sent to my old address (recently moved and I forgot to update). I called HomeTrust and spoke with Darlene who was so friendly and helpful. They were able to update my address, add a travel advisory to my card and sent the new card by courier so that it arrived in time for my trip.

I worked with Mohammed Boutaleb
(Mohammed.Boutaleb

to help me refinance my home.
It was an actual pleasure to do so with him. Enjoyable conversations, detailed information on what is needed and what will happen throughout the whole process.
He fought for me to get what I need and made everyrhing happen stress free.
This is the kind of service that would keep me as a client for a lifetime.
I highly recommend M. Boutaleb!!!
If I could leave zero stars I would
If I could leave zero stars I would. I sent $500 for a secure visa. Home trust did not state in the application that it expired after 90 days. I sent it maybe a week after the 90 day period. Home Trust claims they automatically rejected the money & sent it back to my bank account (even tho they didn’t know my bank account number). Said I have to wait 10 business days for it to appear in my account. It’s been 12. I have filed a dispute thru RBC, to get my money back. The customer service with home trust visa is literally atrocious. They stole my money. And are blaming my bank RBC.

Following up was great, opening new windows and possibilities was appreciated.
Their system is down but no warning
Their system is down but no warning, instead access is denied “because of too many sign ins” and calling them does not indicate the problem with an automated announcement. Credit limit increases are ridiculously incremental. They must have a very low opinion of who their clientele is.
Fast and efficient service
Mohammed provided great service. He kept us updated of all the things needed. He’s always there to answer all of our inquiries. And most of all he was pleasant to deal with, he was very accomodating and he knows what he was doing.

STAY AWAY!!! Worst mortgage provider in the country…
If I could give this company negative stars I would. The worst mortgage experience I have ever had. Where do I start? Leaving an $8,000 certified cheque with reception and it went missing. Being lied to during the pandemic by telling me the deferred payments during Covid could be added to the principal after the pandemic was over only to have to pay them back all of the deferred payments in one shot which was impossible, especially after being off work for several months during the pandemic. Horrible customer service and the people on the phone always had some sort of rudeness whenever I called them - from the reception to whoever I was talking to. AWFUL!!! AWFUL!!!! AWFUL!!! Never ever do business with these criminals. They should rename their firm “HomeBust”.
Incompetence, Intransigence, and Possible Fraud
DO NOT USE THIS BANK!!!!
In 2022 I had some financial difficulties and I had to rearrange and prioritize payments to keep everything afloat. I prioritized the bills that were sending me notices so we could still eat while I got back on track. They had my van repossessed with zero notice right before a holiday. I could have rearranged things and paid if they had given me notice, but they didn't bother. It cost me an extra $2k to get my van back, which meant getting even further behind on everything else.
I tried to get back on track with my payments, but the numbers don't match between the online system and the statements. The transaction history doesn't show how funds were applied, so I just guessed and added $100 to the standard payment on the statement.
I got a new phone and changed my phone number online. They reverted the 2-factor authentication back to my old number so I got locked out of my online account. I had to call twice to get my phone number changed so I could get back into the website where the numbers still don't match! As far as I can tell the extra payments just went into limbo somewhere and I can't figure out where.
I finally got to where I can just pay off the remaining balance and now they're demanding an extra $1,300 for an insurance policy I didn't sign up for. I never received any paperwork for this policy. It doesn't show up anywhere in my statements or any of the transaction history.
Despite obvious errors on their part, they have been completely unwilling to make ANY adjustments or considerations while being smug and condescending.
Home Trust has you covered
Mohammed Boutaleb was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and his response time was really quick. Everything went smoothly and my personal deadline was met 1 week before I needed it to be!
Customer care at it's finest, I highly recommend you reach out to Mohammed to have your financial needs met! thank you for all your help!
This card is awful
This card is awful, they decline so many transactions as suspicious; an uber ride is suspicious? customer service is online to India; any foreign transaction is declined as suspicious - so what's the point of the no FX fee? what's the point of a card that gets declined all the time by fraud department as suspicious? This card has no value
Home Trust Visa - Forex Free, not really.
They advertise that there is no foreign exchange fee, but they don't talk to loudly about the 1.5% fee on ATM withdrawals. This not to mention their wonky website and incompetent support. What's the point of this card?
Dig the dissonant caustic music you’ll get from home trust
Damn. Well… where do I start. Caustic sounding music while you are on hold. Made to make u want to hang yourself. Then ( from an accredited mortgage specialist dear friend of mine) you get 4 to 5 weeks to decide if u want to renew with them. While big buy and girl lenders give u twice that time. This morning was the proverbial straw…I was instructed by a manager that u receive confirmation of ur choice of mortgage by mail AFTER your term is up. Which is a lie. For at least ten years of renewing with home trust I received confirmation at least BEFORE the term is up
You are left wondering if they even received the faxed docs. If you, at all, can avoid getting in bed with these gaslighting people this company who BLATANTLY put profit maximization above customer service, WITH IMPUNITY, you will save yourself some dignity and cortisol secretion. Caveat emptar
Unacceptable statement notification
I infrequently use Home Trust Visa but did use it on a recent trip. Today I got a notification that "your statement is now available to view online". Today is January 30. The statement was generated January 9. Payment due date is January 30. No prior notifications were sent about my statement being available so the first time they tell me my statement is ready is THREE WEEKS AFTER IT WAS GENERATED. Now my payment will be late, my credit rating will be decreased and Home Trust makes money on my late payment fees. My next email to Home Trust will be to cancel our card.
Here is Home Trust's reply to my complaint. No offer to assist with my late payment or anything. If they knew there was a problem WHY DIDN'T THEY NOTIFY CUSTOMERS?????????
Statement alerts should be generated when statements are ready. Home Trust is aware of the delay with the notifications this month and is prioritizing its resolution to prevent future occurrences. We extend our apologies for any frustration and inconvenience caused.

Chasing away Customers?
Went to purchase something and used Home Trust card but it was was rejected at the store. Was told to phone Home Trust to sort it out. I have always paid my Visa bills off fully for the last few years to avoid the high interest charges. I had made my last payment as usual to fully pay off the bill. But when entering payment amount I made a mistake and there was a few cents still owing. So when my next billing came for 11 cents I just ignored it and couldn't be bothered going online to pay a few pennies bill and also wondered what the Interest charges would be for the few cents still owing? Home Trust explained to me that they had blocked the card purchase of $85 and froze the account at the time of purchase until the full overdue payment of --- in this case a few cents--- was fully paid off. Was told it did not matter the amount owing just the fact that my account was flagged as being overdue. Every other credit card company that I have occasionally missed a payment to over the years was quite willing to keep charging 28% interest on the balance but obviously not Home Trust. It seems Home Trusts policy is that if I had even paid 1 cent of the recent 11 cent bill, that would have been enough to keep my account from being suspended. So if you miss a payment even by mistake it seems Home Trust will suspend your account for any amount and it does not matter what your previous history of payments has been to them. So I now charge most of my purchases using other credit cards who I have found have a more reasonable response towards suspending customers cards especially when customers are owing less than the price of a postage stamp.
Absolutely garbage in every category.
Absolutely garbage in every category. Customer service representatives are either not properly trained, incompetent or just don't care. They either takes weeks to reply to emails and voice-mails or they don't reply at all, even with email reminders.
They operate like it's 1983. They only got online service a few months ago and you can only see you mortgage information. You cannot may payments, increase your payments or anything. Every is done by phone or email or Canada Post to which they take neglect to respond to. When you do happen to talk to someone, they never have any answers. They always have to check with they superiors. Being frustrated with this mortgage company is an understatement.
Customer Service in the gutter
I don’t understand whats happened with Home trust!! they were always so good, professional customer service agents, I had just called yesterday and today and 4 out of 4 was terrible, they sounded extremely apathetic. One girl said her supervisor will return in 3days.
1/2 had incredibly poor comprehension, and listening skills, it was incredibly difficult to get anything across.
