We were flying from Calgary to Toronto, staff was very rude, arguing with passengers, especially one ugly, old nasty woman with sour face. No smiles given, not even "hello" or "goodbye" It feels like... See more

The Biggest Scam I’ve Experienced in Air Travel
Very disappointing experience:
• Flight delayed at departure and arrived late.
• After landing, we waited another 40 minutes just to open the aircraft door because they said there was no ramp crew.
• Charged $117 for only one 23 kg checked bag.
• We booked only for two person, but our seats were separated. We were then asked to pay extra to sit together. It's not only with us! Other passengers were having the same issue.
• This airlines charge $34 for in person check in at the airport.
At every step, it honestly feels like a scam. Never again.
Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with Flair Airlines. Our flight was scheduled for 3 PM but was delayed until 10 PM — a full 7 hours. We basically lost an entire day because of this delay and had to completely change our plans.
I understand that delays happen, but 7 hours is not a minor inconvenience. After this experience, I simply can’t trust Flair’s schedule. I’d rather pay more for another airline next time.
Three-Hour Delay and Not Even Complimentary Water
Low Fares Come at a Very High Cost
Very disappointing experience with Flair Airlines. I understand that Flair is a low-cost airline, but there is a difference between being a budget airline and making passengers feel like absolutely everything is an opportunity for another charge.
Our Cancun-to-Toronto flight was delayed by approximately 3 hours, and during that entire delay Flair did not even offer passengers complimentary water. No water, no refreshments and no meal vouchers. We were travelling as a family and had to make our own arrangements while waiting.
The experience on board wasn't much better. The seats were extremely cramped, uncomfortable and did not recline, with very little space between rows. There were no entertainment screens/devices, and practically everything beyond simply occupying your seat costs extra.
Another policy I find particularly frustrating is seating. If a family doesn't pay extra to select seats in advance, family members are assigned different seats. It feels like another way of pressuring passengers into paying additional fees simply to have their family seated together.
Some of the flight attendants we encountered were also quite rude and unfriendly, which made an already frustrating experience worse. When a flight has been delayed for hours, a little understanding and good customer service can make a huge difference.
I knew Flair was a budget airline and expected fewer extras. What I didn't expect was such an extreme bare-bones experience: pay for seat selection, pay for food, pay for drinks, very little legroom, uncomfortable non-reclining seats, and not even complimentary water offered during a roughly three-hour delay.
I understand that the original disruption that day involved weather, and weather is obviously outside an airline's control. However, passengers still judge an airline by how they are treated when something goes wrong. In our case, the delay had cascaded through several earlier flights before eventually affecting our Cancun departure, yet the level of passenger care we experienced was extremely poor.
By the time all the additional charges and compromises are considered, the lower ticket price simply isn't worth it for me.
Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not choose Flair Airlines again.
No comfort, not cheap!
Flair airlines is the worst airline I ever used.
The ticket was not cheap, they charge for seats, carry-on($200!!!) and even the water on board and if you want a printed boarding pass, they charge you too. No drinks and food during a 4 hour flight, there are no pillows, or blankets, only 3 washrooms for 180 passengers and on my flight back from Calgary on August 5th to Toronto, one washroom was out of order, and one had no water to wash hands.
Not to mention the seats, which do not recline, are super tight, have no legroom and of course no entertainment device.
In addition, the flights are late, sit on the tarmac for a long time, and are assigned gates from which you have to walk a kilometer to reach the main airport building.
After paying for all the extras, I would have been better off using Air Canada and pay $50-100 more. In the end the flight was almost as expensive as using a better airline, with no comfort at all.
My verdict: stay away if you need to fly for more than an hour !
15 dollars snack for one day delay…
15 dollars snack for one day delay seriously?
I recently flew from Toronto to…
I recently flew from Toronto to Vancouver on your 9:40 am flight. I had a small carryon that I have used on many other airlines in the past at no charge. You charged my a usary $120
I had no choice. I will not fly flair again. I have advised my four family members to not fly flair and will tell my friends to not select flair.
Giving Flair Airlines a one star review…
Giving Flair Airlines a one star review is very generous. The absolute worst airline I have ever taken in my entire life. The one and only trip I tried to take this airline in an emergency has left me and kids with a life long regret. I booked a last minute flight because of my dying father in the hospital and the flight was delayed by 2 hrs before takeoff but they said 1 hr 35 mins and did not add in the time the passengers sat on the plane waiting to get in the air and then when we finally got to our destination.... the baggage pickup was a 1 hr wait which they did not know why. I never got to say goodbye to my father because of the airline delays. When I called them to see about some sort of compensation they told me "No" bc of airline policy which states that if the delay is for safety then no compensation is due even though I was in the situation of a life altering event. Then there is the issue of supposedly being a low cost airline.... well it is not at all. It is equivalent to all other airlines, baggage cost is high, no water to drink unless you pay for it. You pay for ever little thing.
Then came the return trip, flight was delayed by 3 hrs( 1 hr, then 1 more hour then again 1 hr). I called and requested a refund for that flight and I was told the same pre-written dialogue about how there is no compensation due if it is for safety. When will an airline be delayed otherwise or record the reason other than safety? So according to what gets told, there will never be a refund given for flight delays. I looked up their refund policy for delayed flight and it plainly said if the flight is 3-6 hrs delayed you are entitled to $400 refund. But I was told NO. This will be the first trip I used Flair and will never make this mistake again.
I recommend anybody out there thinking of trying this airline to stop and look at all the awful reviews people like me have posted after our experiences and pick any other airline to fly with. The airline is heartless, greedy and has no ethics, morals or humanity. I am a single mom with no help from my ex and live far from
my family and have 2 children who live with me, it cost me so much money in this emergency situation and I still did not get to say good-bye to my fatherbecause of a delayed situation and there was no understanding by the airline at all.
This airline is crazy they have the…
This airline is crazy they have the worst of the worst amenity on the plane. I was trying to charge my phone on the plane I even downloaded all the Netflix series movies, just to enjoy my only experience on this flight. However, all the port from my seat and my friend seat is broken. It made me speechless.
On our flight back to Toronto, we got charged extra 132 CAD for carry on package which is ridiculous. Anyway, thanks for flair airline providing such wonderful experience that no other airline can provide. It encourages me to make more money, so I can suffer myself again on Flair Airline so I can afford the 12 dollar a slice of pizza on the plane.
The worst airline I’ve ever been on
Do not fly with flair airlines
First off after choosing the flights I wanted, upon checkout and payment it flipped me back out and rechose a new flight for me. Without noticing I realized that I would be at my destination at midnight. I went back in to change it back to my original time and it charged me $155. Upon arrival they charged me for a checked bag I already paid for and said I would get a refund when I call customer service. Same thing happened on the way home. Also we had a 5 hour delay.
Gate attendants are so rude and cold with no accommodations whatsoever.
Chat service useless, customer service hung up on me, service calls not returned, and inefficient responses.
Worst flight experience ever just to get to Vancouver. I always fly westjet and will continue to do so.
My friend also had the same issues and they almost flew her luggage to mexico city, no apologies just a smirk. Horrible service.
After reading all these reviews I guess they do not care. They think overcharging will keep them in service, it will not, good relationships will keep them in service and they are nowhere near that.
0 star
0 star - worst airline ever. Rude staff and system sucks. Trying everything to get you pay for something. You book a flight for a family on one booking, their system assigns you not seating together and making you have to pay for the seat charge…. You want to talk to them, they don’t listen and just say the system is like that you have to pay, what is the point for booking a flight together in one booking? Your system intentionally separates family and make us pay, when I check in online there are still seats available to put in together and your system just want to separate family do that we pay if we want to change seat. My other flight with a different airline didn’t have this issue, we were assigned to seat together by default it doesn’t matter my son is 5 or 15!!!!!! Also always missing luggage, I promise I will never get on this airline again! Seriously! Awful airline, awful staff! Especially YYZ check in area manager and Asian staff at the check in counter!
Absolutely horrific customer service
Absolutely horrific customer service. My son was flying back to see his dog who was about to be put down. We paid extra to have the abiltity to cancel. Sure enough the flight was delayed, he can't make it in time to say goodbye. Not only do they refuse to cancel or credit because the flight was checked in (for the original flight time, not the lengthy delay!!) they proceed to charge me extra for even talking to an agent. Zero compassion, Zero class, Zero humanity airline.
DON’T FLY WITH FLAIR AIR
First and foremost I will give zero stars if I can. I booked the ticket from YYZ-YVR with this terrible and the most inconsiderate Flair Airline, not only I paid over 1K CAD which doesn’t consider cheap in terms of this airline are being seen as cheaper airline, and having a free carry still got charged at the front gate, and what do you mean a slice of pizza cost 12 bucks. Yuh buddy you outta your mind. I would rather swim from Toronto to Vancouver than take this blood sucking big time wanna be dog shit airline.
4TH TIME LATE EVEN THOUGH LAST ONE 3…
4TH TIME LATE EVEN THOUGH LAST ONE 3 hours 15 minutes late arriving always say safety issues so they can avoid paying $400 reimbursement.surely government should look into this outfit more closely
Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with Flair Airlines. I was charged $35.70 just to check in at the airport ($34 check-in fee + GST).
I’ve flown with many airlines before, and this is the first time I’ve personally encountered an airport check-in fee like this. It feels like an unnecessary extra charge, especially when passengers may not realize in advance that checking in at the counter costs extra.
Low fares are attractive, but passengers should be very careful about all the additional fees before booking with Flair Airlines.
Definitely not a good experience, and I would think twice before flying with Flair again.
Consider booking a flight at least 12…
Consider booking a flight at least 12 hours in advance if you need to be somewhere just in case they decide to delay the flight about 10 times. No sense of respect for passengers whatsoever.
This airline is so cheap that they…
This airline is so cheap that they actually compete with their customers on who is cheaper!! They charge a 40$ check-in fee instead of 5$ for a boarding pass because people can do the rest of the work themselves unless they are elderly, who should get a complimentary check-in and boarding assistance!!! Customer service is terrible who don't even bother to tell people where to go for security clearance, let alone the gates!!The airline hires people who'll work for less and, as a result, don't care about customers!! Their base fare is very low for a reason because they don't have to refund much and forfeit the seat payment in addition to the cancellation fee, if you cancel your ticket!!Their box for the in-cabin complementary item can only fit a small folder at best and are disappointed to see passengers meeting the luggage guidelines for all the money they lose!!Also, they let their Exit row seats go empty if someone has not paid for them!!I would give this airline a minus 10 if it was a likert scale!!If you want a good flying experience, pay a couple of bucks extra and choose porter or another airline which provides comparable fare but better service!!
Worst airline ever
Worst airline ever. Do not fly this airlinenif you respect yourself. Better to pay more than receiving the worst customer service plus delays. Why do that to yourself? Low cost airlines do not have to treat their customers like garbage. Service is not expected to be at rhe same level as that is their business model but courtesy is expected everywhere. We are human beings! $102 carry-on charge, approximately 9:00 a.m., F8 1601 FLL–YYZ, refusal to explain the fee, rude/dismissive treatment, and subsequent delay from 10:50 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
Distasteful experience
Distasteful experience
Honestly, I’m very disappointed with Flair. I was charged $120 for my personal item, and when I said I wasn’t going to pay that much for a personal item, I was told that I would not be boarding the flight if I didn’t pay.
What really bothered me was the way I was spoken to. I felt like I wasn’t even allowed to question the charge or express that I wasn’t okay with it. I understand that there are baggage rules, but there is a way to speak to and treat customers.
I’ve never had an experience like this with an airline before, and this definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. $120 for a personal item is ridiculous to me, and the customer service made the situation even worse. Never again!
Disgraceful lack of humanity and…
Disgraceful lack of humanity and corporate greed.
I am writing as a mother and a grandmother to express my absolute disgust at how Flair Airlines treats families in medical crises.
To open an email with cheerful congratulations on a pregnancy, while simultaneously acknowledging a severe, high-risk medical condition and a specialist’s strict prohibition to fly, and then cold-heartedly state that “only death is an acceptable excuse” for compassion — is the pinnacle of corporate cynicism and cruelty.
My daughter did not choose to cancel a flight on a whim. She has battled serious health conditions for years, and this long-awaited pregnancy requires daily medical injections under strict specialist supervision. Traveling right now carries direct, life-threatening risks. Flair was provided with legitimate, verified medical documentation from Dr. Erica Peterson confirming she is strictly unfit to fly.
Instead of showing basic human decency — or even issuing a simple travel credit — Flair chose to hide behind rigid scripts and pocket the money of a young family facing a medical crisis. Because of their complete refusal to cooperate, we had to scramble, borrow money, and purchase separate tickets just to ensure our 10-year-old grandson could be brought home safely.
Your policy makes it clear: Flair Airlines values a few hundred dollars over human life, ethics, and basic empathy.
You should be deeply ashamed of your customer care standards. Other families should know exactly who they are dealing with when an emergency strikes.

(Oleksandra’s mother and Zak’s grandmother).
UPDATE:
Flair replied with a polite apology for their agent’s tone, yet still insisted on punishing us financially. They offered an ultimatum: either lose all money for my daughter’s seat, or cancel both tickets and pay nearly $400 ($373.80) in penalty fees to receive a partial voucher. Apologizing while profiting off a high-risk pregnancy is absolute hypocrisy.
